Default Heroes and Spiders

This was fun, did 4 spider runs with a guldie. Once we worked out the mechanics with the heroes, it wasn't too bad. Wouldn't want to do a trap run with, but this was fun.

All but one are Elder - sadly my Jin got a Hearty, although my Magrid's is Elder.

I'll have to post pics of us after we have done a Forge run, 2 ppl with 6 heroes - better than most pugs, go figure. FOW with heroes is definitely fun.

Heheh, I've been getting all my heroes the same pet as the character they belong to- always fun to set up my ranger for beastmastery and have a party of four Dune Lizards Fortunately, none of my characters use a spider, so I won't having to get any of those for my heroes.

I've always wanted to hero UW sometime, too bad henchmen aren't allowed down there- as it is I'll have to sucker a guildmate into going down with me sometime.

Dire sucks. I don't see why you would want +3 or something like that damage against a health penalty of -60.

For the same reason you use a sup rune for your weapons attribute despite the 75hp penalty. By the way, dire = +15% damage, -60hp. Of course, depending on your build, hearty may be better (when you go with 0 or 1 in BM for example and use your pet to tank only or to feed your MM), but otherwise the extra damage is really nice.

On the first run hero placement, for me anyway, was something that I had some trouble with. However, this falls into why didn't I know that category, if you individually place the hero you get a good trap grouping. I also did not know - duh - that you can place the flags using the main screen and not just mini map, made this much easier to manage heroes.

We also found having the heroes on " avoid combat" helped a lot - until it became necessary to change. Should heroes carry spirits, they should be disabled as they place them wherever..

Most important when capping spider - disable every skill except charm animal and have hero set to avoid combat. You also have to target and aggro spider , then have hero cap it.

BTW, great for lvling. My Jin was lvl 12 and after 3 runs was lvl 20.

We went with 8 man party the last few times. I was necro SS, friend was ranger, 4 hero rangers, hero monk and hero ele. This made the run faster.

anyway - it was fun and would like Anet to give us the ability to change heroes pets - my Ranger wants this now Didn't think of this until after I had capped pets for that char.

if you are going BM the pet will dish out +15% damage being a dire. with all the armor buffs that you will use the -60hp wont matter.

if the pet is the target of ennemys the +60hp will not save him

if you are using a pet just to feed the MM a dire pet will die faster which is better for the MM

The new easy way to do it is to do the AFK lightbringer farm with beast mastery maxed. Have your pet keep killing the new spawn. It will be doing more dmg then u obviously.

Setup

4 monks, you with pet, Devona, and Holy Hench (Garazz?)

Cool, I was thinking of getting my Ranger heroes spiders too but I changed my mind. On another note, I capped a Dire Spider for my Ranger a few days ago.
