*sigh* I had high hopes of an etheral swirly vortex shield. Ah well, at least I can tick this off my "list of things I don't need". The sword, however, I'm still holding out hope on. From the mini pic, it looks kind of like a cross between a fell blade and a shadow blade - two of my favourite swords. If it lives up to my expectations, I made actually go for it >_>

if so... ANET really screwed the fella who painstakingly got all the gems to get it. If only Anet used the Ghost hero's sword skin as the tormented Sword, i bet a lot of ppl would be in DoA right now.

Yet another plastic toy from the nineties... Now I know why I won't buy/farm it. I seriously hope the tormented weapons are more exciting considering their rarity.
Congratulations to whoever got it first and/or to whoever will spend hundreds of platinum on it.

I'm a bit disappointed about the skin. I hope the axe and hammer skins will look a lot better.
Congratulations to whoever acquired the weapon.

It looks like it's made out of margonite armor. And apparently the pink is animated, so it looks better ingame.
All I know is, if I could get one, I'd use it.

Thers a screenie of the tormented staff, which looks like a normal staff except it has swirls of purple energy beams surroudning it, coalesicng at the tip of the staff. It looks as cool as it sounds. The mini picture doesnt do the staff any justice. If that is the case for the staff, im pretty sure the sword will have swirls of energy around it, sorta like a fellblade with a glowing purple energy outline.

Congrats to the person who got it. Personally, I do like the skin, though to invest that much time/effort to acquire it is not something I'm inclined to spend my time on.

So your saying he's at most 5 more runs away from another weapon?
(takes 8 Mallyx runs to get 16 of each of the 4 Stones, not counting any drops from creatures)

Ooh, I have a ranger who'd like a bow that pretty purply-pinky color .
(But my warrior would look at the shield and turn her nose up. She's not very girly <grin> ).

DUDE!!! That sounds awesome, where is the screenshot? Searched for Tormented Staff and can't find it :P
EDIT: Here it is, it's pretty nice!
That's odd, because I used the search on this site and searched for Tormented Staff and didn't find it; I also used Advanced Search on Google looking in this site and that didn't find it either. But there it was all along...

Thats a pretty daring to say considering that theres been ZERO evidence that someone has even gotten one. So unless proven otherwise I declare this rumor moot.

I think farming for this weapons is kind of useless since you have to get alot of gems to trade for them.

From the outline of the sword it appears that it looks something like a fellblade or brutsword since the handle comes fromt he center of the blade, unlike an igneous blade.

I've just updated the wiki with that Tormented staff image - if anyone finds any more pictures of the other weapons you should post em
I'm rather anxious to see the tormented daggers...
