I always customize my mesmer weapons.. using a 10/9 cane now, looking for a nice 10/10 (or 20/20 dom) platinum staff with dom req to use for factions...
15-21 sword... harsh Did you see the req and mods first and cheer, or the damage and sigh?

I never customize caster weapons because I'm always switching them around chars. My +5e zodiac, goth and cren get moved around between my 2 monks and rit frequently. (in the process of replacing my old monk) As for the wands, they get moved around between my 2 monks depending on what is needed and if my new monk can go to the location where help is needed.
Melee weapons on my warr I customize for that extra dmg.

I agree. I think I must have 10+ 14-15>50 10% Furious Axes with various grips, all customized...

I woke my wife and neborn child up when I ID'ed it. I was so happy, I was starting a thread here on Guru to sell it, and I got everything ready to go, it wasnt until I put the image up on imageshack that I noticed the damage
Then I put it up here in the PC thread and I was told to salavage it. So far out of 5 attempts on perfect fortitude mods I have been blessed with Iron ingots 4 of the 5 times.

really warrior, ranger, and assassin weapons are the only weapons worth customizing. unless youre depending on wanding for damage.

Whoa, nice defender, didn't know they dye that nicely ^^ too bad fow sucks IMHO. No, gothic weapons don't dye at all, sucks don't it -_-
Also, why are people getting all defensive? If you're a caster, do you think it would really matter whether you custo or not? obviously my comment was not made for you guys. Unless you have an account w/ multiple warriors/melee and there are people like that, each should have their own customized set, thats all I'm saying. You don't have to ofcourse, yet I see no logic in it other than thoughts of value in a game where value on items drops like a mutha f...... Yeah, you switch weapons on chars.. then you should really get that other char their own weapons. Oh well, I can understand though, some people treating their weapons like its a 15>50 crystalline sword. Heck, if I get one, I too would have a long debate w/ myself whether to custo it or not, probly ask someone to give me a high req crystalline along w/ cash and custo the high req one.

1. I dont customize caster stuff
2. I dont customize stuff which I use on multiple chars i.e. one of my 15>50 fellblades for on ranger and warrior as i cannot justify buying another perf one
3. There are weapons which can only increase in value as they become rarer and rarer and i wont customize
4. I dont know about you but customizing items worth many many millions of gold is kinda hard to do. Spend months trying to find the item and to customize it making it worthless is hard to say the least
5. It is not practical to customize everything. My warriors item collection has spilled out onto many other chars as it is massive. I wont use most of the weapons and only bought them for the rarity factior. I have no room on warrior for most of my stuff so no need to customize them.
I do however have weapons for pvp which are customized and have no desire to customize anything else as i dont need to.

i believe customizing something worth millions is the ultimate staus symbol
it sais "hey, i dont need money, i can afford to blow ridiculous amounts of gold on an item and make it wortless monitarily by customizing it..."
i mean with some items its idiotic. items worth 1-2 million, there may not be much sense in it for most people, since that kind of money to the average player is substantial. but if you have an item like a perfect serpant, dwarven, crystalline or whatever, why would you sell it? i mean, te whole point of having ecto/gold is to buy nice things, and if you have the nicest of them all, theres no going up the ladder. unless of course you're so poor you cant even afford droks and whatnot...in which case selling ti and buying a crappy skinned weapon and droks armor may be the wiser choice. but once you get wealthy and discard those bottom-of-the-pyramid items you may end up regretting the decision.
