Week 2 Evaluations/Rankings
Alright guys, here are the evaluation/rankings for Week 2 of the competition, in random order...
Naga Xaviera
I aready knew that it was going to be tough trying to get the tiger (Roy) to sit still in a position long enough to get a good shot, so I basically just used a position that I thought would look good even if I didnt have him in the picture with me. Once Roy was in the shot I liked how both him and Naga were looking at the same thing so i cropped the picture to show that better.
Judge 1: I think the Tiger stole the spotlight from you, I'm looking right at the tiger and ignoring your presence completely. I'm looking at the full size and its gorgeous, I really wished that more of you were shown in the cropped.
Judge 2: It's a pretty picture, but nothing interesting is going on. It's quite boring.
Judge 3: I think this picture is great! I love scene, and I think your poses in the picture matches it perfectly. The serene look on your character matches the tiger, the cool environment, everything just works well together. But I do agree that more of you should've been shown, other than that, loved it.
Jaden Stone
This is a picture of Jaden getting into the water with one of the deadliest animals in the sea, the Canthan Tiger Shark. I wanted to Get a Jaws like feeling to the picture, where the shark is closing in behind her. I also wanted a look of shock or fear as if she didnt know what was behind her.
Judge 1: Definitely an original idea. Never crossed my mind that there would be sea creatures, so it was a nice surprise to see something unique like this come out.
Judge 2: I like the idea, but the execution fell a little bit short to me. I've actually done a similar shot like that myself, but what I did was do the dance emote and made it look like I was flipping into the water, so I feel that you could've done something more interesting than that.
Judge 3: I've actually totally read Jaws in this picture even before reading your explanation! The way your character looked like she was creeping in the water and such. I love the scenery, but for once, I think you should've used your nude look instead of clothes if you were going to be in water that is. It would've worked for the picture much more.
I Only Protect You
Because of the good/evil idea, I tried to put that aspect forth as good as possible. I used a monk spell to light my character and to put a peaceful breeze around it. Behind my character is the evil hyena roaring and harrassing my helpless monk, in the dark world of the desolation.
Judge 1: Ohhh another animal I didn't even think about. Hyena, interesting choice. I love the desert nomad look, it works for that area, obviously since that is where the armor is derived. Anyways, I liked it.
Judge 2: My biggest problem is the enchantments you had on, they distract and take away from the picture way too much. I assumed you had them to keep you alive, but seeing how you explained that you had them to show good and evil, I have to disagree. They distract from your picture, and the enchants you use can be used by enemy mobs too, so it doesn't show "good" really in my opinion...I commend you on trying to come up with an interesting concept, but I think you went too far and ended up falling short.
Judge 3: I agree, the enchants really take away from your picture, but other than that, I liked it. It reminds me of the Lion King!!! The area where the Hyenas lived at is reminiscent to the desolation, I like it, your character had nice composure, the hyena looked way to obedient to convey evil in my opinion, but still nice.
Raselle Deathblade
I chose the snow wolf. Simply said, I enjoy the looks of the animal, and as it seems to travel alone, it was a perfect match for my character. And as beautiful as it may seem, it also poses danger to anyone who may disturb its peace.
Judge 1: Great picture, one of my favorites, you and the animal compliment each other, the animal is in action. Both of you are equally in the shot, the ratio is good. Love it.
Judge 2: It's a pretty picture, but I don't like the background, I think you should've chose a darker place to do that, I think if you would've had the picture on rocks/snow, it would've been better. The colors would've went well with the wolf/you. So I think it was a strong concept, but weak execution.
Judge 3: I agree with the background, although it does add a lot of contrast to you and the wolf, I just think the background is so bland for something so interesting.
Malefic Mistress
The white tiger is tough, but Malefic is tougher. In this shot I wanted to show that Malefic was fearless of this deadly animal. Before the tiger even managed to touch Malefic, she turned around to stare him down. Malefic is fearless, even in the face of danger.
Judge 1: The explanation was good, but the picture didn't really appeal to me. eh.
Judge 2: Not amazing, though not horrible...nice concept, kinda like Yin and Yang, black and white, you contrast each other.
Judge 3: I like the body language for both you and the animal, though I think it would've been better if you were in some kind of battle stance, like mentioned before, I feel that this is kind of like a Yin and Yang thing where you're both trying to overcome each other, and I think if you had a battle stance like the tiger, it would've been so much better.
Perynne Walker
This picture is set in Raisu Palace, the home of the phoenix who are raised as decorative guards and pets for the emperor and his favourites. I wanted to portray how photogenic phoenixes are while still showing the close friendship Perynne and her pet Hopscotch share.
Judge 1: It's nice, I like the colors, you guys kinda match, and it makes you stand out rather than blending in, but I think you could've come up with something more engaging with you and your specimen.
Judge 2: Boring, very boring, nothing is going on at all. I think you could've done so much more to make it more interesting than just standing there.
Judge 3: I just think trying to keep the phoenix's wings in your picture makes it so wide, leaving lots of negative space which takes away from your actual picture. I love everything else though, maybe if you had a /attention emote, I think it would've been better than just standing there, then that way, you could've demonstrated the whole "decorative guards" for the emperor type deal.
Catherine Divine
Me freaking next to a giant spider, they bite you know and this one is pretty big. Yeah i look sexy when im scared
Judge 1: It's a shame really, you walked into this competition being the strongest, but now I just feel that you're falling behind and fast. The picture is so boring, there's too much in it, and not good stuff either.
Judge 2: I don't like it, this feels so novice to me. I don't think much thought went into this. I don't think you can be in a competition and submit such amateur work. There's a level of performance that I'm expecting out of everyone, and you're not meeting it for me.
Judge 3: There is a huge gap of nothing in your picture. It completely overwhelms you and your animal. The amount of negative space in your picture is so tremendous. If you took off the top half of your picture, it would've made the same statement. There was just no reason to have that much unnecessary space in your picture. Aside from the bad cropping, I think your picture was stiff and boring.
Summer Newmentz
Yawning is contagious. This picture only proves that as Summer comes aross a sleeping tiger and cant help yawning herself.
Judge 1: I think it's cute, it's very adorable how the tiger is positioned, but its not a good shot...but it's certainly not the worst.
Judge 2: Yawning is contagious, and this picture makes me yawn too, it's a little dull. But at least you and your animal work together well.
Judge 3: I love your armor choice for this, the stripes on it is very complemental to the stripes of your animal the color is good, but I do agree that it's a bit boring.
Mortissia Faust
The Lions and Lionesses represent the cut-throat critics and agencies (hence, there is more than one animal). They have just finished up an old trend (represented by the old bone,) consumed in its entirety, and broke down the trend to nothingness. Now with an old trend finished, a new one must arise, and in this case, Mortissia is shown as the new trend. Innocent, fresh, still natural, untainted by the pressures of the industry. In this case, Mortissia is also shown wearing white (bones), foreshadowing the inevitable end that will come to be, once the "animals" are done with her. She is seen in a pose that shows beauty, and her face is slightly lowered to show that she knows she will be used till her own death.
Judge 1: Great concept, it works, but I think it's just too much, there is so much going on in the picture, I don't know where to focus on, but least it's interesting.
Judge 2: This picture is going way too far, the concept is agreeable, but there is too much going on and it makes your picture unappealing. And from the picture, it looks like the next fashion trend to go is you...
Judge 3: lol, I see the Lion King again...anyways, At least your being creative, and that's never a bad thing, just reel it in a little bit next time, assuming there will be a next time.
Burnout Chic
I find that this picture is very moody, and suits well the spider and my elementalists dark (almost witchy) look.
Judge 1: It's an interesting shot, the scene, the animal, everything works together, good job.
Judge 2: Not much can be said about it, I think it's pretty self explanatory.
Judge 3: Very nicely done, it's a good shot, everything goes together and met your mark on trying to convey the mood you wanted.
Xo Katina Xo
I chose the swan because swans to me are very classy and elegant. They carry themselves in an elegant way when they walk. Top Models are supposed to be elegant and glamerous, and I feel the swan is a great example of that.
Judge 1: Pretty! I like it, explanation was good too. Not bad at all.
Judge 2: It's ok, I think if you had a better background, it would've been better, right now, I see "swamp lake", but everything else works for me, the colors, the concept, it was good, I just really wished the background was more elegant.
Judge 3: I love this shot, my only problem is that you're covering your animal too much, but least you can see it's face. Everything else is good, and I like your background, it kinda goes back to the "ugly duckling" story, beautiful things come from ugly things...like a butterfly lol
Here are the scores...
Burnout Chic 10 11 10 = 31
Catherine Divine 02 01 01 = 04
I Only Protect You 08 07 04 = 19
Jaden Stone 07 09 09 = 25
Malefic Mistress 03 05 07 = 15
Mortissia Faust 06 06 05 = 17
Naga Xaviera 04 03 08 = 15
Perynne Walker 01 02 02 = 05
Raselle Deathblade 11 08 06 = 25
Summer Newmentz 05 04 03 = 12
Xo Katina Xo 09 10 11 = 30
Which means Burnout Chic and Xo Katina Xo are up for MOTW, and leaves Catherine Divine and Perynne Walker for elimination.

That's not a swan, Katina. That's a crane. You don't have to be smart if you're pretty, eh?

Week 2 MOTW / Eliminated Contestants Revealed
After much Deliberations...This week's MOTW is...
Congratulations to Xo Katina Xo, you may choose one of the following prizes...
1. An in game prize of 10 Jadeite Shards and 10 Amber Chunks.
Or
2. Complete immunity for the next round of competition, Week 3.
Please get with me on your decision through email/pm/etc to your nearest convenience Congratulations!
Onto the elimination...
Catherine Divine - All of us judges, pegged you to be at least in the top three, but we look at your performance for the first two weeks competition, and none of them have been amazing. You have the strongest application...but with two weeks of mediocre performance, we're not sure if we should keep you in this competition.
Perynne Walker - Your application and your first week were pretty good...but you bombed the second week...
So who gets eliminated? Good application and two weeks of poor performance, or pretty good application with a good first week, but a bad second week?
This was a difficult decision, but Catherine Divine, you are no longer in the running to becoming Tyria's Next Top Model, that means Perynne you are safe to continue on the next round.
And at this time, I have to say...I knew from the start, and I said it before, our twelve contestants will be all happy and loving that they are chosen to be in the competition, but as soon as you get eliminated people will get sour. This is why I made all the judges comments anonymous and thats why they'll continue to be anonymous. There should be no hard feelings between anyone, we are not here to offend you, we are not here to break you down, but we are also not here to hold your hand, we are not here to fuel your ego. You guys were chosen from 70 applications, so you should already be proud of yourselves for making it this far. No matter how the results go from here on, you guys should be proud of yourselves no matter what.
There is no way you can take this competition personal...and I hope our remaining contestants realize that, because this will not get any easier, we are down to our top ten, that ten will become three, and that three will become one.
With that said, Congratulations to everyone who made it pass the second week of competition, I'll send Week 3's assignment out shortly...alright guys, that's all for now!
Hope everyone is having a good time with their families and friends and what not! Happy Holidays!

Photoshoot Assignment 03: Winter Catalog
Seasons Greetings!!! Hope everyone is enjoying the holiday weekend, unfortunately for you guys, it's a new week of competition, except for Katina who has won immunity for this round, so while Katina gets this week off, you guys must work hard, cause now, your chances of being eliminated has gotten that much higher!
(I'm pretty sure posting this isn't against the rules, but if it is, I apologize and please remove it at once)
There should be no surprised that this theme is going to be focused on Wintersday, but of course I wouldn't want to make it too easy. So...one of the biggest events every Winter is the Victoria Secret Winter Fashion show, so for this week of competition I'm going to ask that you guys strip down to your undergarments and take a screenshot ad for a Winter Catalog.
And no, you do not need Nightfall or Prophecies to get this done, you can easily go to one of the winter areas in Factions to get it done as well...
So after picking out your best screenshot, submit it along with the answers to these questions...
1. Where did you take your screenshot?
2. Why did you choose the background you used?
3. Explain your picture.
This Assignment Will Be Due On: Friday December 29, 2006.
In addition to our regular rules, one rule that will implemented this week is that your character is to wear NOTHING and to only have the undergarments. (I realize that Mesmers/Elementalist have special garments that can be used as lingerie hose and what not, but none of that will be allowed, no head gear either, not even holiday ones since some might not have them and it would be unfair.)
Alright guys, have fun and good luck, let me know if you guys have any questions or concerns about this assignment!
