That was a pretty mean joke, but the reactions made it worth it :D. I was pretty shocked myself at first.
To Sihaya Syme, your necro looks really pretty and she's posing nicely (except perhaps for the sitting pose, her face doesn't show), but she's sooo small in every picture o_O. Cropping closer to the character would work better, imo.
Sorry I've got this tendency to rant about cropping, I just think it's very very important and people overlook it way too often.

I'm sorry, but this is bugging me a little. Being relieved that I didn't win is pretty ridiculous. Yes, I didn't win, but I did try my best. You're just making me feel like I was misfitted into the first cycle. Perhaps I was, but still no reason to put me down with your inconsiderate comment. Just know that the judges must have had there reason, and you should respect that.
You think your necro is pretty damn good? I think she's really unique and funky, but here are a few tips to make her far much more appealing. Let me help you out a little (These can be used for anyone else's characters really):

http://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q...2006/alek3.jpg
Secondly, just like in the real word, matching colours help GREATLY. Green Hair is pretty funky, it makes your character VERY unique, and its great. Just don't match it with yellow... please.
Here is a colour wheel for you reference whenever you want to dye your armour.
http://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q...lour_wheel.gif
Lastly, crop the picture so it helps the overall appeal of your character in relation to the background. Example:
Compare:
http://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q...hininsucks.jpg
to
http://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q...ininsucks2.jpg
I did the cropping without much thought, but notice how much more focus you get on your character by simply cropping out the ship? As well, the armor's colour is contrasted against the yellow bush, while as I never even noticed much of the bush in the un-cropped shot.
Hope that helps.
P.S LadyNilene good job tricking the cycle two-er's!

Yes, for those who still havent gotten it, that was a joke lol, mini interviews will span from tomorrow till approximately the 17th, depending on how many late entries we get!
I still want to say that even though that was a joke, some of you still have to face the fact that you we're still not chosen to participate! Only 12 will make it, and there's about 50 people who applied thus far! And I'm sure more will apply, so please, prepare yourself for either possibility.

Application deadlines are April 15, 2007, and the twelve finalist that will enter Cycle 2 will be announced on Saturday April 21st. And the first assignment for Cycle 2 will be announced on the 22nd! The last assignment will border somewhere along the lines of late June, early July.

Peace, of course.
"last time I scored more points than one of the people who got in"
However, I got the lowest score EVER. And you specified you got higher score than ONE person. That would be me. As well, due to the fact you bashed LadyNilene for picking me because:
"and didnt realize that we should have had photoshoped our entry to get picked either.........................................or posted tons of times ....my post count could use a few extra points if I knew that would have helped."
Quote of what you said when you got rejected the first time. The last comment was also directed at me. So I have more than just my intuition to support your distaste towards my running last cycle. However, I call your peace, and I wish you best of luck with your audition.
AND from my last post. I much love your necro. I was merely using your screenshot as an example for others to see. And guess what? My experiment on YOUR (yes I like it) combination of hair + face:
leave it at that.
P.S yes, I did it at the Temp of Balth too, since thats the shots requirement.

yes the first time I was quite upset about the process as it had not been lined out very well.....and later (after that post) found out that others had scored higher than just you----yes, I realize that you had the lowest score, and that the comments that were made regarding your admission made it sound like you were picked due to your photo shop skills as well as your screen posting (I wont post the thread, too tired to look it up again)......this time it has nothing to do with you since you arent even applying (right?). (and I am sorry that I said I know of ONE since there were others, just didnt remember it until you posted).
and thanks for the praise....I really like my necro, the green hair just makes her the best of my 15 characters----I considered some of the others, but they dont screenie well (my favorite ele always looks like she just woke up or has a hangover....and my mesmer is tooo tall and has grey hair [she is very matronly], while my rit has buck teeth! [why oh why did they do that have to do update? ]).
and like your shot as well.....just not the armor....oh well....thanks again.

Anyway, thanks for the info Nilene...I'll have to figure out what my summer schedule will be like for June/July..I know we'll be going on trips but I may still be able to take shots (though they would be on my laptop and I can't run GW as great on it as I can on my PC)
And of course that is in case I got accepted which I'm pessimistic about >_>

Just because you scored higher on an application, doesn't mean you're the best of the best. Think of it as a job interview, does the most qualified person get the job? No, not necessarily. People skills, and the way you present yourself, and your ability to interact socially are just as important, and if you're lacking either, then you're not where you need to be.
The application gives us the range of who meets the bare minimum, then we look to other factors, is this person nice and positive, does this person want participate and excel, is this person reliable, etc etc.
Quite frankly, seeing the response Mortissia has gotten from Cycle 1, it is clear that we made the right choice to pass Mortissia to the contest. She is quite the popular choice name for our cycle 2 application question "Who is your favorite for TNTM Cycle1?". Mortissia produced amazing screens, and made it to top five. That is a great accomplishment, so if you still question her position in the competition, I just don't know what to tell you.
Think of the application process like our judging process...we don't just pick the highest score and say youre the Model Of The Week...we pick the two highest, and then debate on it. From our application, we take our range of scores, which in this case is 15-30, then we debate on who should be in it and who shouldnt.

aint it the truth......I have RL experience when it comes to that.....I score poorly on paper, but when people met me and work with me they find out that a book and its cover arent always paired well.......
and as I mentioned earlier I know, I know......but its still a sore spot with me!
and we have emailed about the other issues before so I wont mention them again. ok...I dont question the spot ---he did some great work.....the thing I question was----nevermind I am not going there again....that dead horse should just stay dead. (and shinin wont even use it for a minion). I am glad she was in last round. He and I have said our peace, so now I will say it again for everyone else----peace and peace!!

Ohh yeaaah!! Bring on the drama ladies~!! I've been waiting.... Nah j/k.
Let's all just chill until it's time mmkay. That trick by LadyNilene sort of showed me how I would react when I might not get picked and kind of released tension for me, I feel better about it now.

I had a bit of a mixed reaction when I thought I wasn't picked! Dissapointment, sure, but I was also kind of excited about seeing what had been picked. (I'm in Australia, so it was already April 2nd for me, and I totally forgot about april fools! )
At least I've got my strategy down pat if I don't get in. Treat myself to a bowl of icecream or something, and get excited about seeing what incredible shots people can pull out!..
That's a beautiful shot Geishe btw

Thanks for the tip, I'll be sure to remember it I'm new to cropping, and I'm practicing for the competition now The stuff you posted about the golden ratio will really help me too!

Ha, I know how that feels xD I was very dissapointed, and still I was bouncing in my seat when we would get the 'sneak peak on the final 5' because I felt soooo curious and excited to see all the beautiful pictures ^_^
Eat ice cream when you're not picked... Nice idea... I think I'll treat myself to strawberries xD

My reaction was disapointement for sure, but mainly on myself. I was already checking where I failed with the shots and second-guessing myself. I resented a little the fact not everyone had an interview, I am happy to know everyone will have the chance to up the ante - or fail miserably ^^
Let's ease the work for the TNTM team and connect to the game to the best of our possibilities : 50 people to interview is A LOT and we all want to have that chance, right ?

Did every applicant's heart just sink (like mine) when they heard the interviews had already been done? But I literally LOL'd when I opened Lady Nilene's link. I guess it serves to show us a little humility. Remember, we must be prepared...

Every applicant but one is going to get rejected again in the next few weeks and the decision may be utterly subjective or arbitrary. Even the winner will have to contend with the possibility that 50% of the forum audience may choose the other gal in the final poll!
When the let down comes, since there is no in-game ice cream, I'll just head to my favorite watering hole for a warm shower...
