Wow! amazing shots everyone! I'm very hyped for this cycle!!!
I'm going to give some advice though, I've noticed a few people with the Divine Aura, and I want to say it is very important to be careful with it. Make sure that it adds to your shot rather than takes away from it. In reference to myself...
In this shot, the divine aura added to my shot.

While in this shot, the divine aura was very noticeable, and took away from it.

Other model featured in this shot is Katina from cycle 1!! =)
The best thing to do is try to fine surroundings and backgrounds that don't clash with the color on the aura. and make sure that the aura isn't more noticeable then you are. Hope that is helpful!

yeah i noticed a lot of applicants with the divine aura and wanted to warn people about it too >.o i think those that have the swirly kind may be better off than the sins who have the glowing star but i don't know >.o might be a little tougher for some.

The Divine Aura does indeed feel like a terrible handicap (and it's why I didn't want to apply with my monk, because her Aura is so over the top). Lack of different armor sets is something that can be remedied by playing (=grinding) more, but there's no getting rid of the Aura.
Then again, I didn't even remember xxSilhouette having an Aura in the last competition, so it must show that shots can be taken without the Aura being too obvious ^^;. I also believe there are pics that just couldn't be done without the Aura.
(I like to think of this and the previous pic I posted as such ^^;).
Must take more pictures... must write application... hurrrrrr ~~ *insomnia monster*

I disagree, I think the stationary auras (assassin, paragon) are less likely to be a challenge. They can be treated like props, whereas there's no escaping the trails.
Not that I have this 'problem' either way.

at first i thought that the swirly ones would be more difficult, but then i thought that they could actually add a lot more with the environment..like the rangers could have some sort of faerie/elf nature thing going on with their thing or something
i think the stationary ones look like you're going to shoot lasers at someone o_O
maybe it's just a personal preference XD
either way...they can be bad and good lol

Actually a lot of times i just made it a point to not have it in there, as the assassin divine aura seems to fade in and out, so many times i would retake pictures until it wasn't noticeable.
To quote Nilene, I think that she said something along the lines of it being related to those models who have skin disorders or who are plus size. You know you have it, and you need to work with it and work it to your advantage.

Hope everyone else is enjoying the outtakes too. Here's a few of mine.
You caught me at work...
No flash photography please...
Showing off my best side (almost made it into my application)...
If we took a vote, I wonder what the most popular emotes have been/will be for the application shots. Mine will be: /beckon, /scratch and /doh.

After seeing Noanoa's monk I have to agree that the monk Divine Aura is something to be very scared of. It's capable of complitelly eliminating anything in it's way. I do like Noanoa's ranger's aura though and it can be used to her advantage.
Ofcourse DA's are not the only things to watch out for. Many characters have dangling objects in their hair and ears. My monk included. And because the 3D model's headbone does not seem to reach the dangling objects in full it will leave parts of them unanimated. And this will look like the object is streching madly because the end of the object is left somewhere in the air, far from the characters actual head.(I'm a 3D nerd yeah...)
Just have to really watch out for that... Luckily the plane the dangles are often created on are 1pixel wide so they should not be so visible if viewn strictly from the side.

Lol Nian, that looks really warped out xD My monk has the same hairstyle and I wondered if something funky like that would happen, so far hasn't happened yet though.
the monk /shoo (or was it taunt..dangit.) is actually pretty cool from the side:
^ i so would submit that if she was entering but I'm using another shot for the secondary character thing.
I'm still trying to figure out a good spot for my sin's screens she has black armor and everywhere in balth is DARK. Ugh. And then cropping..and and...gr...I'm just afraid to crop too much or if they want a full shot or maybe I should just toss in both and what about how much background they want and aaagggh x_x *head explodes*
oh and because of this (well and my test pvp i was doing last night) i'm ending buying my sin ANOTHER SET of armor -OOO-;;;;;; my funds for the naga raincaller are depleting >_<

Laenavesse careful with the posts. Some of them are just spammyish (A new word ), I like you taking a big interest in this, but please try not to post QQ O_O;;;;;;;; type spam.
The post above would be better without it.
Its hard to say what is spam or not I guess. Just a reminder to everyone.
We may seem pushy about the new spam rule, but the old Tyria thread was really spammy.
Thanks

Nice pictures!
My favorite emote is /no. It's the only one where Sax's magical shoulder-anchored ponytail shifts to hang behind her back.
For the application itself, I'm going to guess a ton of monk applicants employed /bored. It's very posey.

was it the line about the armor? if so, sorry!!
but all of these screenshots really do look cool, looks like there will be a good batch of competitors this time around as well.
Addition:
Erm..what's QQ O_O;; type spam?

Here's a shot I really liked of my additional char.
And another one where my main char is wondering why that well is biased against short people.

Well after being just about ready to submit my application, real-life goes and sticks its big fat head in, lol, and in the unlikely event either of my girls got picked for Cycle 2, I wouldn't be able to commit to the 9 weeks or so TNTM would run *sob*. Anyway, as you can see my main and secondary applicants aren't too happy about it either
Really disappointed about missing out on Cycle 2 cause Cycle 1 was great, but I'll be watching it eagerly. The very best of luck to all the applicants and I can't wait to see the selections for this cycle
