my monks were in the mood for a photo.....so took them out to port sledge for some dancing......yeah the image is paint and didnt line up exactly.....but was the best I could do right now......enjoy Mamiko and Yuki (and the armor glitch for the female luxon top----well maybe she just wears that black band under the upperarm due to chaffing... )

I'm in the minority of people who dont think primeval monk armour looks rubbish.

I must say, that ^ is the best looking primeval for monks that I have seen. All the others that i've seen seem way to chaotic and blurry and altogether crazy lookin. I think the dye is what makes it better than others. Still not too sure about it though, just a bit too weird...

Yes, they come from his skin. You can see on the torso and the way the arms and legs split up to a horn on the arms/legs

I got Aimee some new 'casual threads' for social occasions - I really dig the 1k Sunspear - though in this case, it's not 1k, it's 20g sunspear

The old black can be recreated on most armors using black+gray.

Not so much.
But...
Some of the female monk hairstyles are taken from Korean mythology.
If you go to the Korean version of the GW's website and look at the pictures for professions, the monk there has a hairstyle used in pictures of their pre-Buddhist shamanic version of an Angel.
I'm going to presume that links to the actual company website for guildwars are ok?

That picture, that bun in particular, comes from Korean mythology. Several of the others come from other pre-modern Korean styles.
My own monk is level 10 at present, so I don't think anyone wants to see her in common Istani armor just yet.
