Oops, I did a couple more but didn't think to post it here. I just love this technique, Bethany! It's so addicting to make these pictures

I'm still using Paintshop Pro 7 but I really will try GIMP one of these days.

Still looking for some nicer spots... but since reading this I've been paying attention more to the landscape and how much detail was put into everything Thanks again for the tutorial!

Already posted in the warrior screenshot thread, but hey, I've posted all my others here so why not?
I've got two more of him in this area that I'm going to work on when I get home later tonight. Except instead of my trusty Spatha he's got Kai's Sword ... which really makes no difference.

Original (very very big picture)

http://www.serpents-guild.com/~vain/gw123.jpg

Final (cut down to a 200 height avatar-size for other forums). I blurred out the background wall to make it look like red sky, and used a different blur type effect on the ground.

I basically used the procedure outlined in this thread but with an extra layer to provide more variety of, well, depth.

Everyone's is doing great! I just got started with Nightfall and I haven't seen much of the landscape yet but the little I've seen (around Kamadan) looks beautiful.

there are a lot of ways one could achieve effects like this easiest way that comes to mind involves clipping masks, seperating the image in layers, doing partial blurs, some adjustment layers and so forth. Should take care of the coloring and softness of the image

then again, im sure most ppl have been gettin a hang of this, considdering its page 25 :X ^^

These are all of my current characters excluding my dervish - I used Xens quick and dirty cut out guide to cut out all of the characters and then followed bethanys guide Not the greatest, but i haven't done one of these in a while, and i like it pretty well
