=) Definitely makes the ability to quickly switch between enemies and friendlies for buffs/heals easier. I also like having the enemies cast bar near the target so I can see what's happening - and my maintained enchants near my spells and mana bar so I can quickly click off if needed.
Right now the only thing I'm uncertain about is the Enchant area - which is left of the party window. Haven't found a better location.

How do you flip your energy and level bar into a vertical position? I can't seem to find out how.

Just put the pointer over say the bottom left corner and drag it down and to the right until it is vertical. I asked myself that same question and now that I've figured it out I like it alot better.

I didn't change much. Stuck my exp bar at the top right corner, and then the rest is pretty much like it was during the beta (same as the new default, cept the radar is at bottom right instead of top). I don't really find anything troublesome about the default... guess i'm just used to it.

organized... yes... practical, nope. with the radar right in the middle in the way of everything it gets intrusive. and when you have overlapping objects they can get confusing. oh well, whatever works.
my setup is fun. i have my giant exp bar at the top so i can glance up there and i KNOW how much exp i need for my level/skill point. my hp and energy bar are also supersized so that i can see them better. basically... everything is supersized and in the beta positions. except for the exp bar.
my key setup is all default except for my movement keys. i have no idea how people can use the wasd setup for any game. ever. you get MAYBE 15 or 16 keys that are nearby that you can press aside from the wasd keys. my setup is fvsd. with f and v being forward and back. and s and d being turn left/right. it gives my pinky finger something to do. with my setup i can reach at least 21 keys not including the fvsd.
maybe its just because i like having my fingers on the "home-keys" when i type/game. yeah that is probably it. oh well, tell me what you think of my giant exp bar!

Where's the printscreen button...? I always wondered
My setup is pretty much the same I have my xp bar just above the health/energy and stretched it out. Also I have my party members set on the numpad keys respectivly (ie: 1,1;2,2;etc.). I prefer to keep my mini-map in the upper left hand corner because, it's easily accesible to the eye compared to the rest of the screen. I like having the radar in the upper right hand corner for the same reason as the mini-map.

Here is a screenshot taken from an alternate character. I've tried to gather as much information as possible. Oversized HP/energy bars. Enchantment/Hexes near the center of the screen to see dangerous hexes and blinking enchantments.

For a while there I thought it was just me. I was too stubborn to customize where my GUI was and found myself staring at one or other aspect of it (Conditions/Party screen), and neglecting the other and/or losing track of what was really going on in the battlefield...I began to experiment withthe idea of total immersion... where I would resort to full on First person view all the time--like a first person shooter, and instead focus on recognizing spell casting and other tyype activities by animation identification, and paying attention to the symbols appearing overhead to see what is coming down the pike...
Playing a Mesmer primary though, it was crucial to know exactly what was being used (whether it was a skill or a spell or regular attack like ability etc.) to know what type of counter to employ. Wasting energy on Cry of Frustration applied to a spell is a good example. But alas, either the learning curve was too high or else i just didn't have the patience to re-educate myself. Also the view fps doesn't seem to rotate at the speed I am used to, in say counterstrike--where I set my mouse sensitivity up pretty high to be able to flip around and confront surprise threats in a split second.
And although it is fun and immersive, being lost in the underbrush in the jungle (Cuz that is all you can see in front of you sometimes if you try this eheheh) when the ambush hits--I imagine it wouldn't do in competetive situations like in PvP <: /
So with that said, Ithik I'll try putting the Health, energy, Status, and party information screen in the same area. Probably above the view of allthe action--as I also find it easier to track the action below data cores rather than above them. action buttons can go below though. It's ike need to know/alrts above--and reassurance of what I can do below. After all, you acquire a feel for your skill recharge rates a lot more easily than you "sense" that you have had Spirit Shackles cast on you.
And really, who needs to stare at the XP bar while in the field? mmm?

Following Camera dont work...
I'am almost beginner in the game, but if my mind isn't yet almost forgetfull I remember well that optional setting for camera is following/re-orient mode. Basicly camera turning in direction of my character's steps. But after I customize a little bit controls of game(no drastic and stupid changes), I have only free camera option without any key holdings!!! I must use click-drag mouse controls to re-orient camera like in following mode, and that sucks :-/ Finaly...another camera/move controls works well, so I dont understand it. I tried to set all to default and reinstall whole game, but with no change :-(
p.s. doesn't anybody knows where to find ALL in-game commands?
Thanks for any hints and help!

Hey - I still havent found the best setup (at least IMO) as I still tend to hit the keyboard more. I still have some planned tweaks but..
Would you mind posting/pming your n52 profile?
thanks
