Who said they should look natural anyways? (they being your comment on guild wars characters) Guild Wars is a game, not reality. Why should the characters need to look real?

I just have to say that my point in making the texmods is to take the best of both worlds; Add realism but have these almost impossible looks. The perfectly cat shaped eyes, high cheek bones and fuller lips. They're supposed to be just exaggerated beauty, basically. I don't understand why everyone is very hostile towards it; Its just a texmod on my own mesmer. It almost feels like people are offended by it.

Katina, I think your mods are great. As the saying goes, beauty IS in the eye of the beholder. If you don't like it, or don't have anything nice to say, don't say it at all.

Not offended; disturbed. It's a well-known phenomenon.
The Uncanny Valley
"The phenomenon can be explained by the notion that, if an entity is sufficiently non-humanlike, then the humanlike characteristics will tend to stand out and be noticed easily, generating empathy. On the other hand, if the entity is "almost human", then the non-human characteristics will be the ones that stand out, leading to a feeling of "strangeness" in the human viewer. In sum, a robot stuck inside the uncanny valley is no longer being judged by the standards of a robot doing a good job at pretending to be human; but is instead being judged by the standards of a human doing a terrible job at acting like a normal person.
Another possibility is that affected individuals and corpses exhibit many visual anomalies similar to the ones seen in humanoid robots and so elicit the same alarm and revulsion. The reaction may become worse with robots since there is no overt reason for it to occur, whereas distaste for the sight of a corpse is an easy feeling to understand."
You are full of love and pride, because you made those faces. Other people are not, because they did not. There's no rule against posting your modded faces, but there's also no rule that all comments must be uniformly positive. You'll probably get more appreciation in the Mod thread.

That actually looks pretty good, imo.
Imo, it would look better if the boots were dyed the same color as the rest the armor.

personally i dont see why people make a big deal of the texmod, i think your mesmer looks like a celebrity because she has a very familiar face, i just cant figure out who. i wish i could texmod, im just too lazy to search and dowload the right photoshop plug in
but i think you did a nice job.

Cant change the gloves!!!! the purple gloves are her trademark
Each of my mesmers have a color....Miaka is purple, Haru is green (the one that was default wayback) and Mimi is brown, maybe I should get this set for Mimi too. (starts saving plat).
