I'm not sure if this is the correct area of the forums for this. If not, please redirect me.

Is anyone interested in forming a regular (weekly) role-playing group for GW? I've been in some similar groups in other games, and I think the way zones work in GW this would be ideal.

Basically we form an RP group to get together at the same time each week. We create characters specifically for playing in the group and only play those characters when we are grouped together, similar to the way table-top paper-and-dice RPGs work.

This sort of thing is for people who enjoy the role-playing aspect of the game, and doesn't work so well for power gamers. Although you will still have other character slots to power game with if you want.

BUT, However I don't like the idea of only playing the character when we group.

Sounds like a good idea to me tho you should be able to play this character any time since the character can leave the group too as a part of the Role Playing...=> He can gather loots/lvl/quest alone for a bit

i think he wants to keep it like D&D, meaning that chars grow with the group. he would want this so that the group grows all together, that way you dont have one guy go and run to lvl 20.

When I first posted this, I did so based on some incorrect preconceptions about GW. Having played this weekend, I realize that in GW guilding is a pretty basic requirement. I don't believe the kind of group I was proposing will work as intended in GW. Instead I will be looking to join a role-playing guild. Good luck to all! (Or rather, good luck to my future guildmates and death to the rest of you lot.)
