The OOC thread
Here's a thread where everyone can post out of character to post comments on each other's plots and roleplaying. Also, it can be used to plan new sessions and scenarios to play through or to see if people are interested in something. Or whatever else you might need to go OOC for and don't want to put inside of a RP thread.
For example, I'm an infrequent and not very well-experienced roleplayer and I'm not very fond of playing by post, as it were. And I haven't done it in years and years. But I think I'll give it a try again to get things started around here.
I've also GMed a game or two in my time and one things I've had on the backburner for a while has been a way of converting GW gameplay into the table-top experience. Mostly it was just a way of interesting some avid PnP gamers I know into trying out GW (Which looks to be a lost cause at this point. Won't touch GW with a ten-foot pole but they go gaga over WoW. Go figure...) and although it's a bit rough around the edges, I think the underlying principles are solid - basically you need to chop up the real time gameplay into a turn-based system and that's easy enough by setting up rounds based around regeneration, converting skills and actions into rounds is easy enough, it's just I'd need some play testing and all to see how to handle things like knockdown and interrupts and the exact details. So, if anyone's interested in staging fights and combat with an established ruleset, let me know and I'll fill you in on the details.

Hey there! I'm Bunny and really like the start of the story
I've played several P&P, D&D and RPG etc. etc. Sometimes as a GM, but mostly a normal player. I like the double/triple-layered stories, intertwined with Myths/Legends and lot's of background info. Just tell me when I'm cramming in too many details in my parts. Also, I like to co-write: two/three (max) people writing a combined post.
Just a little warning: I'm dutch and I'm used to writing my stories in that same, incomprehensible language. So please correct my grammar or (poor) choice of words.

Hi, .. I have never realy role played, but I have friends who have and I've gone to watch them before. Anyway I am sure my ignorance to all this will eventually show. As you can probably tell I am fascinated by LOTR and the Arda. I hope I can 'help the story along' I wrote most of this myself awhile ago as a 'possibility' of a forgotten palantir stone that no one knew existed. And because it seemed to flow so smoothly as I wrote it, I just added the last part to go along with the story so far. I hope this is ok.

We're still figuring things out in this RP forum. If this thread ever dips off the main page, it should be stickied, but I don't think it's too hard to find right now, so...
And, yes, guys, this is an OOC thread. It's assumed you're speaking OOC here, no need to make that any clearer than making up a post. Save poor sk33zl0w's fingers...

Welcome aboard, Darkmane. No, it's alright although, generally speaking it's not good to ascribe plot and important details to another player's character. Especially not in a Play by Post game. You just don't know if I'll be around to play or if I'll react how you want. It's better to use an NPC or a character of your own if you want to introduce a magical item or a plot point or something. The point is to play a role, to involve *yourself* in the story.
However, you're obviously psychic as I was thinking that Sausa should be wandering through the mountains because of finding a particularly important or powerful magical item. I was thinking a sword or a dagger - something like the opposite of what Rurik has - but a Palantir will work just as well. And I can save that blade for a nasty villain. So, actually, I can work with it, so no big deal. It's just not a good idea in the future.
Here's how I see things around here working, (and feel free to disagree with me, we're still working things out) the Inn and similar threads are "lobbies" they're going to be loose and rather ungoverned roleplaying. A place to introduce character and kick back and all that. But from them shall spring plots and storylines which can continue in their own threads. Divinity's thread is an example of this already. These threads will be a little more strictly run, whomever makes one up is the "GM" or Game Master and they'll have the say about how things work and how they go for the duration of that thread, if they want. They'll set the rules, in other words, and resolve any disputes or conflicts. I've the fledglings of an idea for a story I think might be fun to go through with people and I think I'll start it up tomorrow. So, if anyone's interested, just make sure your character's shown up in the inn (if not we'll work you in later) and I'll branch it off into a new thread tomorrow.
What I don't like, however, is the LOTR referrences. This is a GW board, we RP GW around here. Homages and allusions are all well and good but out and out ripping things off isn't something I want to see. So, Darkmane, if you wouldn't mind going through your post and editing it so that things like "Sauron" and "Bara-Dur" and the rest are changed to something a bit more generic and Guild Warsy, I'd appreciate it.

Sorry everyone, things came up and I couldn't get my session started yesterday or the day before. Probably not today either. And then it's the BWE. So it's probably not going to happen before that's all over. Anyhow, if I could get a show of hands of people who'd be interested on coming with Sausaletus on a trek through the mountains so I know who's interested in playing with, I'd appreciate it.

Well to be honest, I feel gay doin RP, but I have a side that no1 knows whihc is my fantasy nerd side, which i only show to you. In other wards Im ashamed of RPing, but my friends dont have to find out!
My main character in GW in Blade Dourden like my RP character.
Never RPed but I use to read alot of forgotten realm books and the sort, and have written fantasy short stories (another secret of mine).
Lastly I'd like to compliment Divinity and Sk33**sumthin wierd, on thier stories.
and excuse me if I'm slow on writing stuff, I'm kinda lazy as hell when it comes to things that require thinking.
Last of all, I was wondering if ne1 would give me some feed back on ym intro( my first RPing story)
