I think it may be because of a lack of focus on the halloween theme. Still, the purpose was to wear something for halloween so that's the most important thing
Btw, thanks for the comments guys, really appreciate the support. It's a really big deal to me when people give me positive feedback Some people even PMed me in game
Thanks a lot guys

Looking at some of those other photos, I'd have to question the tastes of the GW team this one is definitely still #1 in my book.

That's just crazy, you should've at least got honorable mention. Your costume rocked compared to the other costumes...
Well, be proud of a great job done. I'm sure recognition for your talent will be coming in the future.

Wow!
I was surprised not to see your entry up there, your costume was very well done. In terms of effort and over all look, it was better than the winners. (Well the warrior costume in the group shot might have been close, if he made the sheild and mace type thing.)
However, I have to say I was impressed over all with the winning choices. I've seen other contests where I look at the winners and say, "Huh?"
So congrats to all the winners!

very nice costume, pretty wierd you didn't even make it into honorable mentions, tbh, your costume is waaaaaaay better than the monk costume from one of the winners ...

This costume definately should have been #1 on the halloween winner thing at guildwars.com, most of the entries that won weren't even very good, most didn't even look relevant to GW.

Looks great. You should make a female ele set of armor and get someone (hopefully female) to wear it

Kaeli Stormborn, dont worry if they didnt admit yours was good, they probably felt bad that their official stuff was worse looking than your home made
as to the necro stuff, you dont need real leather
or if you realy want a keep-fo-later outfit that will last more than a few wearings, just use second hand.
i have loads of leather jackets and trousers, all from secondhand shops.
mostly from charity shops, what the USA calls Thrift shops.
i have never paid more than 25 pounds for a coat, even a full lenth black trench, infact, i harly pay more than £10, even for trousers that are fully lined.
the bonus is they are usually cheap, soft and easy to work with
or theres always the fake leather....but i would say go for th used stuff. leather skirts are usually best, you get a decent amount of leather, and you can get red ones too, for the red parts so you dont have to dye or paint the leather (though acrylic paint, like for min-models and gamepieces is good on leahter, it skicks nicely and is reasonably hardwearing)
and as a bonus, you could get a realy good jacket and paint your guild logo on the back

You're right... also try and go to a RPG contest and see if you get 1st place from there.
Remember... If you don't win one thing, you can win on many others

Decided to modify parts of the armor and put it into a local RPG costume contest a couple of days ago. A new helmet and some minor reversable modifications, and it won a special prize
Just thought you guys might be interested in seeing it in a different form:
The armor (converted into a Soldier's Plate Armor) with a Muse.
Three of the winners from the costume contest.

A nice site with tutorials that I`ve found but haven`t tried. I want to make some armor for my son. I would only hope it turns out half as good as yours Kaeli, very impressive.
