Assassin Dress Up
We all know Assassin is going to be one of the new Profession to be added, but we still know so little about them. Such Mystery. So why not have fun and make some possible outfit/armor for them. Here is my quick sketch with pencil and paper ...
Hope to see other people's more talented design. Enjoy

Looks a bit like ranger armor... Shouldn't it be mostly cloth anyway, what with assassins being more about speed and stealth than taking direct hits?

Good drawing.
BTW: dev Alex Weekes just posted on the Ideas for New Assassin Profession thread in Sardelac, saying he read through it and will present the ideas to the other devs. He also told us to continue posting there because he will be coming back to check. i suggest Actionjack, you post this lovely picture there also.

Hi, I'd like to share a character creation example that deals with character equipment and armor. Below you can see the design advancement of a female ninja I wanted to feature in a manga. My comments per stage:
Stage One: Traditional appearance and expected skills. You end up with characters similar to those people know from games, movies, TV. For instance, the dual-wielding kunoichi in a short skirt...
Stage Two: Time for Mix-n-Match! You randomize armor and weapons from all genres, looking for a theme to run with. You filter out things based on the character environment and "stereotypes". I dropped the sword-use because of the latter reason.
Stage Three: Tackle the Max Detail. Look at what doesn't pass muster in the close-up, or becomes too laborious to draw. Repeat step three if the detail drawing looks out of place. Mine did here, because of the fancy armor.
Stage Four: Finish from all angles! You have armor and weapons, but did you draw the backside, or the head without the helm on? This will allow you to "pose" the character however you wish (or give the 3D modelers what they need for animating).
That sketch of Nika currently looks very "Stage One"...

Whoa those are some nice sketches Jack ^.^ ...really like the first and last ones you made... I think I have an idea of what I want my assassin to look like... I'll try to sketch and post em' later :3
Labenspai: Very sweeet drawings! I hope the assassin class gets that kind of hat as a helmet hehe... that would be awesome...

Yes, the jingasa helms are neat, but designing the curved brim wrong would be a disaster (a funny looking one).
I'm betting the GW Assassin will have a "MOD" fantasy look, much like the nigh-trendy spellcasters. If that starter female Elem costume had platform boots you could call it disco-mancer armor.
