Maybe you can use the MM's zombies to do that.
Shiro's brilliant plan, foiled by a block of cement.

They are really annoying in the Undercity, patrolling/guarding every pathway with Bosses to boot. Turns leisurely side quests, like Orrian Tome, into nasty affairs.

There should be a "City Maintenance" quest that allows you to permanently block all those holes the Afflicted spawn from. Maybe then you'd have a chance to do business with the street merchants...
For newly-arrived characters, yes, they are nasty - I just found it interesting that you referred to them rather than the Jade Brotherhood. Although I suppose a reference to the Brotherhood just wouldn't have the ring to it that 'ninja death squad' does .

And yes, some quest to deal with the holes would be nice - I'm visualising a quest where you get given a skill that allows you to fill in the holes, and go around slamming the lid on all the Afflicted. It'd have to be after you defeat Shiro, though, otherwise the holes would probably just get remade...

The Am Fah are the ones that "ninja rope ambush" from the top of your screen though. The Jades just saunter around lookin for people to beat up.

Are there any RPGs where the countryside is peaceful after you beat the final villain? Meh.

I could probably post "Heal-Doodles" that could be sketched faster than the full strips. I doubt anyone really cares about P-Shop textures...

Kinda reminds me of spiderman though how those ropes seem to go straight into the air sometimes without an anchor.

I think I have seen Jades do it at times - but the Am Fah are certainly the most prolific users of this tactic, yes.

True, but the way I'd look at it is that while Shiro is on the loose, there's no real point dealing with the Afflicted, because that would be fighting the symptoms and ignoring the cause...

Once Shiro is dealt with, however, then instead of continuously increasing in number the rate at which new Afflicted are created will drop dramatically or even cease entirely, making it possible for efforts to contain them (such as blocking the holes) more likely to succeed. Of course, you'd have to be wary about wiping them out of the city altogether, as from the gameplay perspective that could make some elites difficult to get - but filling in those holes would still make the streets safer (both because you only have to fight the Afflicted you see rather than having a million more hiding in the hole, and because, well, just because characters (usually) can't fall down the holes doesn't mean NPCs can't...)

Sounds like fun - and you could always touch them up later if you so choose.

Excellent comic, as usual! Love the Energy Smaks...you should make them created by BiP Corporation.

Indeed, the point of strip#2 was to chide the skill devs for giving monks "lead sandals".

Gotta love how their "haste" doesn't include enchantments...to think we could've made Aegis work like it did in the beginning!

Another great comic from ya. Hate to see it all end.
Quoted to bring to the front since no one reads the first page anymore.
