Tale of the Dark Stalker.
I am typically brooding over the Suggestion Forums, so this is new for me, but I had a dream about GW in my sleep, and thought I would make a story out of it, I'll probably work a concept on it later, but that gets boring after a wile, so this first.
Tale of the Dark Stalker
Long before the Gods came to Tyria, before they walked among Canthans, the Gods Dwelt in the land of Forlusha, a glorious land free of famine, free of strife and war. Forlusha was one of the Gods First creations, a resting place for the Gods to dwell in, and enjoy the fruits of their creation. It would have been their finest creation…
Forlusha was governed by a monarchy ordained by the Gods themselves, the first monarch of Forlusha was decided by Balthazar, who declared a grand tournament in honor of the Gods most successful creation, to decide who was the greatest warrior in the land, who would be crowned the King of Forlusha. Every great warrior in the land came to honor the Gods, and after a season of glorious battles, Eathin Mavran arose victorious, single handedly beating his six closest competitors in one battle.
The Gods chose this monarch to govern and maintain order in Forlusha because they wished to experience the life of mortals, and enjoy the company of their creation. And so, the House of Eathin reigned, passing on leadership from generation to generation, blessed and preserved by the Gods, the kingdom of Forlusha grew profoundly. Great temples were built to the Gods, not simply out of homage, but as locations of celebration throughout Forlusha. And a Great City was built to serve as the capitol, named after the Ruling Family, Eathin.
For many Generations did Forlusha thrive, there was never famine in the land, no sickness, no war, the land was protected by the divine blessing of the Gods, Forlusha thrived. The only battles fought on this island were in honor of Balthazar, yet they were battles of celebration, and no life was taken, the Gods restored all who fall during the celebration of Balthazar.
As for the Gods, they took mortal forms, living amongst the population of Forlusha. For them there was no greater satisfaction than to take part in the lives of their creation. The Gods loved, they fought, they mused great art, and music.
It was in the 17th rule of Forlusha that the Goddess Lyssa fell in love with a man, Eathin Rosha, second born of Eathin Sordine, the ruling King of Forlusha. Eathin Rosha was blessed with an allure which seemed “otherworldly”. It wasn’t just his outstanding physic, or the cunning handsomeness of his face, he was irresistible. But where did this aura come from?
When Eathin Rosha was 11, his older brother Eathin Sorron, fatally wounded him wile sparing. Rosha was still alive, but would die in only a short time. Dwayna retained the duty of ensuring the health of the royal succession, that there would be no break in royal lineage, but Rosha was not the successor, and Grenth declared that Rosha should belong to him unless he could overcome his demise without the help of the Gods. His father, however, did not wish to lose his son, and commanded all the great monks in the land to devise a way to save him, but without the power of Dwayna, there was nothing they could do. Then one of Sordine advisors suggested an alternative to divine intervention to save Rosha, he told the king, “if Rosha heart be replaced by that of a Dragon Heart, then he would surely live. The problem was, all the Dragons in Forlusha were sentient, and allied to the kingdom. Before the king could even consider the thought, his faithful friend, a Dragon named Err, offered his heart, and his life, in order to save his son, Rosha.
The king could not ask the life of his honored friend in exchange for his sons, he refused and said, “If Grenth will take a life, he will take the one who is destine.” But the Kings Advisor interjected, “Err need not die, even though Rosha heart be pierced, it is enough for a dragon to survive on, weakened perhaps, but alive, I am certain”. With this Err insisted that his heart be traded to Rosha, and that he would take Rosha heart. It was a frightful choice, but the King agreed quickly, knowing that Rosha may not live much longer.
With the Heart of Err, Rosha revived immediately, the opening in his chest healed and there was no scar. Err however, required several weeks to heal, but he lived, and although weakened, he remained steadfast none the less.
Rosha was a different person after that, with unparallel strength and courage, and perhaps something more…
When Rosha turned 16, he attended the celebration of Lyssa, and danced in the Dance of Illusions along with his fellow men and women of Forlusha. Little did he know, that the twins Lyssa also preformed in the Dance of Illusions. Rosha caught Lyssas eye, and she pursued him in dance. They, the twins Lyssa, were so enticed by Rosha that they decided to seduce him, body and soul, that he may be their companion. For seasons after that day, Lyssa would visit Rosha often, always swooning him, always tempting him, their desire for Rosha was almost madness, and they derived new magics of seduction to hold sway over Rosha. But Rosha, though he enjoyed the company of such peerless beauties, did not sway to Lyssa seduction magics, Rosha heart was too strong, the blood of the dragon gave Rosha a firm resolve, which overcame any illusion. Lyssa was not content to simply have Rosha affection, they wanted to dominate his thoughts and soul, the way he did them.
One day, Lyssa broke down and cried, when Rosha realized Lyssa was unhappy, he asked “what can I do to make you happy”, the Goddess replied, “I wish you to love me with a fervor that is beyond contemplation”. Rosha then asked, “What can I do to entice you further”. What he intended to say was, “What can I do to comfort you”, but being so physically involved with Lyssa at the time, Rosha misconstrued their desire. But Lyssa, however, came to the conclusion that if Rosha could utilize the magics of seduction, he would be able to please her further. And so Lyssa taught Rosha the magics of seduction, a magic which would make one of the opposite gender madly infatuated, and make one of the same gender enraged with jealousy.
At first, Lyssa plot seemed to have the desired effect, Rosha pleased them in a way never known before, and they desired and enjoyed Rosha even more than before. But it had another very unintentional effect as well, Rosha, with his otherworldly aura, and his unique power of seduction, became irresistible to any woman who saw him, and in turn, made every man around him jealous. His power of seduction was so great, that the Goddess Melandru fell madly in love with Rosha, and devised a way to temp him. Rosha was devoted to Lyssa, but Melandru secretly gazed on him, and continually devised ways to seduce him regardless. When Melandru realized that none of her powers over nature could entices Rosha, she decided to come up with a new ability, to try and change Rosha, so he would forget his lover and beckon unto her.
Melandru requested that Rosha, learn a new art which would grant beast like power to the wielder. Rosha was not a fool, and realized this was a plot to seduce him, but his curiosity and ambition got the better of him, a new ability never before used was a very tempting offer. So Rosha agreed to test Melundrus newly created abilities. But Melandru had deceived him, her new abilities allowed Rosha to take the form of a powerful beast. When Rosha completed his metamorphosis, his mind, wile still sane, became like a beast, and Melandru took control of him. Melandrus power over living beast allowed her to control Rosha, and she made Rosha her Lover.
When Lyssa realized what had happen she lashed out and tried to strike down Melandru, but Melandru quickly sited that “It is your fault for making him irresistible, you have only yourself to blame for this sin”. So Lyssa pleaded to Dwayna to forbid Melandru from retaining her lover, and Dwayna agreed, Rosha would not, in his right mind, agree to be with Melandru, and Dwayna required that Melundrus hold over Rosha be lifted. Melandru submitted, she realized she was wrong for doing such, and returned Rosha to his true form, and though she still desired him, she never spoke to him again. Dwayna, being wise and virtuous, avoided even the vicinity of Rosha, knowing that his powers extended even far enough to seduce a Goddess.
Rosha returned to Lyssa side, and though he loved Lyssa, he gained a new craving from his experience with Melandru, the craving for new, unknown powers. Rosha became increasingly interested in what powers the other Gods could grant him.
One day, Rosha challenged Balthazar himself to combat, and wagered that if he could beat him, then Balthazar too, should create a new power for Rosha. Balthazar laughed, for no Human could ever beat a God, could he…
But Balthazars pride was his downfall, Balthazar was also jealous of Rosha, though he not know why, so he felt the urge to prove how powerful he was. When Balthazar met Rosha in combat, he clearly allowed Rosha a free strike right at his breast, but Rosha was far more powerful than Balthazar anticipated. He did not come at him with a sword, but with his bear hands, turning into a beast and tearing into the God of War, Balthazar was so surprised, that he did not know how to defend himself, and though he struck Rosha a multitude of times, Rosha continuously regenerated. Balthazar was beaten, and not just beaten, but fatally wounded. It would seem that Rosha otherworldly power along with his beast like transformation allowed him to harm even a God. But Dwayna intervened, and restored Balthazar. Balthazar turned, and in rage he tried to attack Rosha again, but Dwayna forbade it. She said, “If you are truly an honorable God, you will honor your agreement”.
Balthazar had not yet considered what new power to give Rosha, he never considered the chance of his defeat. So he went to Grenth, and asked him to combine the power of his Ice and Cursing magics with his own Fire and Protection magic. What they created that day was a superb magic which could burn an enemy with freezing temperature, and protect an ally with dark protection. But Balthazar was still angry with Rosha, and devised that these spells would immobilize the user if used, making them an easy target for an attack, he did this so if Rosha ever tried to use these magics against him, He would have a clear shot at his breast, the same as he allowed Rosha in their battle.
But the consequences of Balthazars Pride and Jealousy were far greater then he had realized, for, when Dwayna came to rescue him from apparent danger, she laid eyes on Rosha for the first time.
It was at this time that Eathin Sordine pasted away, he was not very old, but the “lifestyles” of a king got the better of him, and he died of a not so mysterious disease, although the court does not speak of these things. Eathin Sorron ascended the throne, thus began the 18th rule of Forlusha.
Sorron had been gone for many years, after wounding his brother he felt grievously responsible for the injury. And since Err was weakened in order to save his brother, he spent the great majority of his time attending to Err, in the manor Sordine had dedicated to the Benevolent Dragon. Though Sorron crossed Rosha path often, they were not very social, as Rosha was always “busy” with his beloved Lyssa, or simply trying to evade every other woman of the court.
As Sorron was now king, he was duty bound to marry, and bear an heir. Until now, Sorron had never been jealous of his brother Rosha, for he was a righteous man of Dwayna. But as Sorron began to search for a bride, it became clear that all the women of the court were infatuated with Rosha. So he searched for a bride outside of the royal court, which was not forbidden, but rarely occurred. Sorron found a suitable bride, her name was Sia Nihara, and they were married, out of duty. Sorron kept Nihara from ever laying eyes on Rosha, to ensure that she was not seduced by him as well. Rosha, not interested in seducing his brothers’ bride, was considerate of his brothers’ wishes, and did not cross Niharas path, Rosha was actually rather good at making his way around the royal grounds unseen.
Nihara bore a son for Sorron, and he was named Eathin Roshir, the future 19th ruler of Forlusha, in honor of Sorron brother, who bested even the god of war, Balthazar.
On the surface, Forlusha seemed like it would continue as it had for centuries, one generation gave way to the next, and the chain of royal succession had never been broken, but unknown to the people of Forlusha, Roshir would be the last successor to the throne of Forlusha.
Dwayna, wisest and most benevolent of the Gods, was very troubled. Although, in her wisdom, Dwayna did not succumb to Rosha seduction, she could not find peace as she once had. Thoughts of Rosha crossed her mind continuously, as Dwayna watched over her children, as she blessed her followers, even wile she stood amidst the communities of Forlusha, in disguise, she could not rest her soul. But Dwayna, being the benevolent and wise goddess that she was, realized that her suffering was not in vain, and the peace and balance maintained by her suffering was a gift she would afford her children.
But as each day passed, a season of sorrow dawned on Dwaynas heart. And as Dwayna fell further into sorrow, the wind became harsh, and the sky became clouded. As each day passed, it seemed the sky would get darker, and darker.
The people of Forlusha became uneasy, as the ever blessed land became less and less hospitable. They made many offerings to Grenth to show mercy on their souls and stay the destruction of their fair land. But none of there offerings were accepted; none realized that Dwayna, though unwillingly, was responsible for the overcast of Forlusha.
And so the people of Forlusha turned to the Eathin Sorron to call upon the Gods and request an explanation. As Ordained Eathin of Forlusha, Sorron was granted one audience with the Gods during his reign, as each Eathin before him. Sorron went to the Mountain of Ascension, which is really just the hilly mound where Eathin Mavran was ordained ruler by the Gods, and requested audience. All five Gods honored the request, as they always did, and met Sorron on the Mountain of Ascension.
Sorron questioned, “Who is responsible for this overcast, which God have we offended, and who has offended them?” Sorron was facing Grenth certain that the God of Death and impending end was responsible, But Grenth turned to Dwayna and lifted on hand toward her, and so Balthazar, Lyssa, and Melandru did as well. Sorron was shaken with fear, for what could bring the Goddess of Benevolence and Mercy to curse Forlusha. Then Sorron spoke, “Dwayna, however have we offended you? If any man be responsible for your dissatisfaction, I, your humble servant, will see them brought to justice.” Then Dwayna replied, “Rosha is the man responsible for my sorrow, yet he has not committed any crime. Lyssa reflected uneasily. Sorron, utterly shocked, questioned Dwayna, “How is it that my brother has sorrowed your heart, and by no wrongdoing?” Dwayna replied, “Rosha has stolen my heart, and I am troubled without him”. Then Lyssa interjected, “It is our fault, we have empowered Rosha with the irresistible Seduction in order to satisfy me.” Sorron realized this was true, it had been utterly obvious, he turned to Lyssa, almost with spite, and asked, “Why would you curse Forlusha like this?”
Then Dwayna had a revelation, it was Lyssas fault that she was writhed with such desire for Rosha. Although she had known beforehand that Lyssa had “blessed” Rosha with uncontrollable powers of seduction, she had never blamed Lyssa for their action. And just as Dwayna considered this, Melandru interjected, “It is all their fault, they were foolish to create such uncontrollable powers and render them unto a man, for their own selfish pleasures”.
Sorron was almost embarrassed to see the host of Goddesses ensnared by a man, his brothers, seduction. Sorron then asked, “How can we remedy this dilemma?” Then the Gods turned to each other. Sorron suggested, “If it would cure the sky, and return the light of day to Forlusha, then let my brother be married to Dwayna, that she may be at ease. Lyssa immediately turned, and gazed at Sorron, as if to curse him with such a hex that had never before been rendered, and they most likely would have if not that the other Gods were there.
Dwayna turned and said, “Though my heart desires it, I would not take Rosha from Lyssa, it would not befit a Goddess”. Sorron lowered his eyes. Dwayna would be ashamed to force Rosha to marry her, but she desperately longed for him, and with a glint of genius she continued, “But the decision is not mine alone”. Lyssa Immediately attested “Rosha is and should be mine.” But Balthazar was still bitter toward Rosha, and knowing he wished to stay with Lyssa, he voted, “Lyssa has caused this calamity, Dwayna should not suffer for it, Rosha should marry Dwayna. Then Melandru followed suit, jealous of Lyssa relationship, “I agree, Rosha and Dwayna should be married, else the sky may never return, and perhaps worse.” Lyssa reeled with anger, than looked toward Grenth for reprieve.
Grenth realized the choice was in his hands, but he did not really care, he was simply curious of what would happen if Rosha were to marry Dwayna, Dwayna had never taken a man for herself before, Grenth wanted to see what would become of the Godlike Rosha, and the Head of the Gods, Dwayna. Then Grenth suggested, “I suppose Rosha should be married to Dwayna.”
Lyssa immediately interjected, “Both of us vote that Rosha shall remain with us, and it is a tie.” Then Dwayna said, “Your Godhood resides as a single entity, and a single vote.” Lyssa was no fool, they knew that Dwayna suggested a vote because at least 2 of the Gods were sure to vote in spite of them. Lyssa whelped, “You harlot, how dare you plot to steal my love, Curse be upon you, all of Forlusha shall pay for your deceit.”
Lyssa unwittingly sealed the decision, because, even though Dwayna secretly conspired to take Rosha from her, Dwayna wouldn’t have followed through, Dwayna would have rejected the decision, and allowed her to keep Rosha. Instead, Dwayna repelled Lyssas Hex and commanded “Since you think to undermine me and destroy Forlusha, I shall take Rosha from you, you have been selfish Lyssa, and for your malice, I banish you from Forlusha.”
Lyssa disappeared, knowing Dwaynas victory was ethereal.
Sorron had been standing there in amaze, he never realized the Gods would fight amongst themselves, he was shaken with fear. Then Dwayna, repressing her glee, told Sorron, “So it has been decided, Rosha and I shall be married at the beginning of the Celebration of Dwayna, you should inform him of our decision”. Sorron was wrecked with uncertainty, but he did as his Goddess commanded him, Sorron returned to Eathin and told Rosha what had transpired.
Rosha reeled in disbelief, he wailed for Lyssa to meet him, but she did not appear, he spent the next 10 days crying out for Lyssa, when he woke, wile he slept, all the day long, not eating, nor drinking. Then he realized, she must surely have heard him, but would not, or could not return to him. Rosha spent the next season groveling in sorrow, he feared he would never again see Lyssa, and did not do anything to sustain himself.
Sorron was troubled for his brother, he felt responsible yet again for Rosha injury. But even though Rosha would not eat nor drink, he did not die, his unnatural aura or some unexplainable force kept him alive, but he turned terribly pale. Dwayna fell even further into sorrow, for she sympathized with Rosha pain. The sky grew darker, and rains fell upon Forlusha that had never been seen.
Sorron pleaded that Dwayna spare him and his people of her sorrow, but she could not. So Sorron went to Rosha and explained to him, as long as you weep, Dwayna will weep with you, and calamity will overcome Forlusha.
Rosha did not care if he died, he welcomed Grenths absolution, Rosha even wished that he had never been saved by Err so he would never have felt such sorrow. But Rosha was not heartless, and he did not wish to see Forlusha suffer, it was a good land, and he cared for the citizens of Forlusha. So Rosha buckled his heart, and returned to the routines of life, even if it was only superficial.
The Celebration of Dwayna approached, and Rosha agreed to marry Dwayna, he did not look forward to it, but with no heart to fulfill he assumed it would be best if he eased Dwaynas suffering and relieved Forlusha of her sorrow. Rosha called to Dwayna, and she appeared, then Rosha made his intentions official. When Dwayna heard Rosha acceptance, her heart was filled with joy, and the skies of Forlusha, which had already begun to recover, opened up and shown forth sunlight. Dwayna told Rosha, “Thank You for your humble acceptance, I wish for nothing more than to be with you, and for both of us to be happy.
After that day, Rosha slowly began to recover, his heart did not hurt quite as much as it had, and he actually anticipated the day of his wedding. Rosha was rather attracted to Dwayna, although she was not Lyssa, Dwayna had an inner beauty which inspired him, and she was rather attractive indeed.
Sorron was happy for his brother, and prepared the most extravagant celebration ever planned in the history of Forlusha, everyone was informed of the wedding and requested to attend, and a new temple was built to Dwayna and Rosha as a meeting place for the occasion. The Greatest architects and geomancers, workers and beasts, were all used to build this cathedral like temple in a matter of 20 days, and it was the most beautiful structure in all of Forlusha.
The day of the wedding came, and Rosha was almost gleeful with anticipation, he had accepted his future life with Dwayna, and felt he would find peace in her embrace. Sorron met his brother in preparation and said, “I am happy for you, all of Forlusha is happy for you, but are you happy with this marriage,” Rosha replied, “I believe I will be.” Rosha turned and smiled to his brother, the first smile he had shown since he lost Lyssa. Sorron then bid a short farewell, for he was to greet Dwayna at the union.
Most all of Forlusha had gathered together that day, many bring gifts of great worth and measure, even the Gods gave gifts to Dwayna for her wedding. From Melandru, Dwayna received a phoenix of unmatched beauty, From Grenth…nobody died for three days previous, From Balthazar, Rosha was pardoned of his offense against him, and Balthazar preformed the duty of Priest over their wedding. But unknown to the people of Forlusha, and even to the Gods, Lyssa had given a “Gift” as well.
Music filled the air as Dwayna walked to meet her soon to be husband, Rosha stood before Balthazar, and his brother Sorron beside him. Melandru stood across from Rosha, and though she still had feelings of desire toward Rosha, she behaved herself. Grenth disguised himself as the sight of him might scare the citizens of Forlusha, as he did not wish to cause a scene at Dwaynas wedding.
Balthazar kicked off the ceremony as soon as Dwayna met by Rosha side, in a nearly comical matter he sped through the ceremony to get through with it, not out of impatience, but simply out of humor, and all who attended appreciated Balthazar for it. As the ceremony reached completion, Rosha presented Dwayna with a wedding bangle, which was magically forge from the spirits of life, which Melandru helped craft, and then Balthazar pronounced them United in Holy Matrimony. Then Balthazar said, “Go on and kiss your bride Rosha.”
Dwayna was overwhelmed with happiness, and gazed into Rosha eyes as he approached her, but something was terribly amiss. Rosha softly gleaned at Dwayna, and intentionally wielded his powers of seduction over her as he approached her. Dwayna was rendered helpless to Rosha seductive power and as Rosha reached around her, he dipped her back gently. All of Forlusha was astonished at Rosha passion, and awed in amazement at such a sight. But they did not realize the Hex of Lyssa was upon them all.
Dwayna never realized that Lyssas curse was not meant to affect her, she though that because she was not subject to Lyssas powers, Lyssa could not harm her. But Dwayna was never so wrong, because the hex was to affect Rosha.
As Rosha dipped Dwayna back for their first kiss, he grasped Dwayna to himself, as if to take her “virtue” in front of all of Forlusha, but as his lips closed toward Dwaynas, he turned his head slightly to the right. Rosha face grazed mildly against Dwaynas, and he gently cast his breath across her…and in that moment of unmeasured passion, Rosha bit into Dwaynas neck!
Dwayna did not even feel it, she was drunk with desire and enslaved in passion, Rosha drank the very power of the High Goddess whilst she not even realize. Melandru was also overcome with desire, and though she didn’t have an obvious view of Rosha attack, she would have realized Dwayna was being drained if not for Rosha seduction. Balthazar was standing on the other side of them, and in his slight of jealously he didn’t even care to look. But Grenth, though he be mixed into the crowd had a very clear view of Rosha offense, he saw the power, the life of Dwayna being drained out of her. If he had not been there, there would only be four Gods, Dwayna would have ceased to exist. Grenth discarded his guise and wailed “Balthazar, separate them, Rosha is sucking the life out of Dwayna!” Balthazar was shocked, as soon as he looked at Dwayna he realized she was barely conscious, and he realized Rosha was doing something to her. Melandru also realized that Dwayna was losing her essence. Balthazar rammed into Rosha knocking him away from Dwayna, who drop on the ground like a drab rug, unable to support herself at all.
Rosha reeled and bared jagged fangs, which had grown from his cuspids, and the air around him began to wreath a dark aura, the sky became tainted as the crimson of dusk. Rosha had drunken the power of the God of Life and Air, he now possessed immeasurable power, and with his arsenal of unique magics, his abilities were far more formidable then the common forces of magic and combat. Balthazar was stricken with awe, to think that a human had the power to make even the God of Courage and War concerned, maybe even afraid. Balthazar quickly grabbed Dwaynas still lifeless body and ascended into the mist, Melandru retreated from Rosha presence as well. Grenth, however, was not afraid. Grenth summoned Monolithic Spirits of the underworld to his aid, and flung the brute of his supreme damnation upon Rosha. The masses of people fled the destruction, though a few devout followers of Grenth motioned to aid Grenth, the battle that was about to unfold was far beyond the forces of mere mortals. But Grenth underestimated Rosha.
Rosha was filled with the very power of Dwayna, and with armored claws he did tear down the Monolithic Spirits and thrust forward at Grenth with unmatched speed, but Grenth was far from beaten, he threw hails of Ice at Rosha and froze him solid. It seemed that Grenth had outmatched Rosha, and the fleeing masses turned to gaze at Grenths feat. But Rosha was not beaten, it was Grenths own handiwork which unbound Rosha. The prison of Ice began to burn, not with fire, it was Frozen Flames, and melted into liquid fire which washed across the ground. The servants of Grenth were burned to a chilling death by the wash of freezing flames, leaving frostbitten corpses all around the Temple. Grenth took this opportunity to make wells of suffering and undead creatures to combat the unspeakable horror, undead of every shape and size, known and unknown, sprung from the corpses, flocking on Rosha like a sea of bones and flesh. Rosha cast several waves of frozen flame upon the oncoming hordes, but the fires of the underworld had no effect on the undead, and they marched on Rosha heavily. Grenth, foreseeing Rosha unyielding power, spewed forth a miasma of curses upon Rosha as well, every curse at Grenths disposal seethed through the air, but Rosha already had a defense. The air itself became a barrier blocking out several of Grenths spells, and reverting some back at Grenth. But Grenth was not affected by his own curses, and several of his curses still reached Rosha. With several curses impairing Rosha, he was hardly a match for the undead swarming about him, and Rosha turned to his beastly strength to defend himself. Rosha thrashed and crushed dozens, perhaps hundreds of undead, but Grenth used his powers to rebuild the masses of crushed flesh and bone, and the curses of Grenth weighed heavily on Rosha until he could not fight back, and every attack the horde of undead made on him were amplified.
Finally the hordes of undead overcame Rosha, and he was torn asunder. Grenth had triumphed over Rosha, his supreme powers of death and destruction were too great for Rosha to overcome, and the undead swarms slew Rosha with unyielding force. And though Grenth rose victorious, he already realized that there was something wrong. Rosha spirit was not found in the Underworld, if it had Grenth would know it. Grenth did not know how Rosha spirit remained in the living world, but he knew Rosha had retained some power. Grenth took and severed Rosha limbs and head and spread them to the far corners of the Temple, and placed physical and magical bindings on each piece to imprison them. Pools of Blood stained the temple, all along the floors of the temple, even along many of the walls, the glorious temple that Sorron had given to Rosha became Rosha own elaborate tomb, now empty and barren, and seething with undead monstrosities and curses.
Grenth, satisfied with the safeguards placed upon Rosha, returned to the mists to discover what had happened to Dwayna. When he reached the mists he found Melandru tending to Dwayna, who was now recovering well, and he found Balthazar devising a plan to defeat Rosha. He turned and smirked to Balthazar, saying, “Why do you devise war against a foe which is already beaten?” Balthazar gripped in contempt, for he wished to reclaim his honor by defeating Rosha, and he did not wish to look a coward for not staying to fight Rosha.
Lyssa was also there, they briskly strut about, and said, “You thought you could take what was mine, but you were no match for my wit.” Balthazar was amazed and angered by Lyssas gloat, he interjected, “Dwayna almost died because of your foul trick”. Then Lyssa responded, “Dwayna almost died because she forcefully took what was not hers, if she had respected my possession then no hex would have harmed her.”
Dwayna stood and said, “I admit, I should not have taken Rosha from you, but you have taken this too far, and Rosha is now dead because of your jealousy.” Then Grenth added, “Yes, he fought quite well, but he could not match the armies of the UnderWorld.
Then Lyssa copped, “Is that what you think?” She looked away and walked a few more paces, then said, “Tell me Grenth, of all your minions and curses, how much of a match would you be against Dwayna?” Then Grenth responded “I would not strike Dwayna, though even if I did, she would not succumb to my power.” Then Lyssa continued, “If you cannot strike down Dwayna, then what makes you think you can overcome someone who has drank of her power?” Grenth smirked, “Rosha is just a mortal, he may have obtained powers unlike any other, but he still lives and dies like a man.”
Then Lyssa laughed, an almost musical laugh, although it was obviously intended as mockery. Lyssa chuckled, “You who call yourselves wise and powerful, Rosha is not dead, you were not strong enough to kill him, and not intelligent enough to realize. Surely if Rosha was amongst the dead, he would be found in the UnderWorld, would he not, Grenth?”
Grenth was astonished, he questioned, “How is it possible that he could still be alive though he be severed and torn?” Then Lyssa answered, “Dwayna is the wind, and life, and Rosha is now also the wind and life, his spirit rests in the wind, and his life will return to him. And with that Lyssa disappeared, she had her fill of boasting, and gave her fellow Gods the opportunity to realize the horror that was Rosha.
Wile the Gods had been away, the people of Forlusha were in a great state of unrest. Never had such tragedy befallen Forlusha, never had the Gods Struck down with such power. Wile the people of Forlusha were still reeling, Sorron ordered all to return to their homes, all except those who had lost loved ones in the calamity. Sorron ordered men to clear away the destruction, and undertakers to sort out the dead. Then Sorron summoned a Guild of Monks, named The Mercy of Dwayna, to come and purify the temple. This Guild was actually a charity organization composed entirely of Monks, most of them women, they were well known for their generosity and caretaking in many villages.
Sorron did only what any good king would do, he took responsibility for the situation and tried to clean up the damage. But if there was anything he should not have done, he should not have sent those Monks into the temple. Among those in The Mercy of Dwayna, who went to purify the temple, was Nihara, Sorron bride.
As the maidens of The Mercy of Dwayna entered the temple, the saw the most indescribable horror of which they could never even imagine, blood, thick drenched to floor of the temple… and the walls… and even the ceiling. The blood covered every surface of the temple. The maidens turned to one another and wondered how they would remedy this plague. The blood didn’t simply cover the floor, a shallow puddle covered the ground, but that wasn’t the shocking part, even on the walls, the blood covered in thick layers. Nihara contemplated, “There is something unnatural possessing this place, be on your guard sisters.” They all began to make their way out of the temple, knowing something disastrous lay in store for them. As they came to the exit of the temple, groups of undead moved on them, and blocked their way. But these stalwart monks of The Mercy of Dwayna dispelled the undead with rather little difficulty. After defeating the small band of undead, the maidens moved toward the exit, but right before they escaped from the temple, the blood from the ceiling and walls fell upon them, and they were drenched in it. Several of them were blinded, as the blood entered their eyes, but they hastily made their way out of the temple, and healed each other of their ailments.
Nihara warned her husband, “It is too dangerous for a group of women to venture in there alone, if we return to purify the temple, we will need a strike force of powerful fighters to accompany us.” Sorron was still racked with grief from the loss of his brother, he replied, “You slew the undead remnants easily, what help would you need, are you so useless?” Nihara objected, “There is an unnatural evil residing in that place, even in the ceiling and walls. Sorron decided, “Fine, if it will convince you to do the task which I require, then I will send in my personal Templar to escort you.”
Now the Templar were the most powerful and prestigious fighters in all of Forlusha, they were all blood descendants of Eathin Mavran, all of whom were not successors of the thrown, but lived as privileged individuals in the service to the “Eathin” of Forlusha. These fighters practiced a sacred art of combat, in honor of the gods, wielding long halberds; these Templar could fend of several foes and strike from a distance. But as there were no great wars in Forlusha since its creation, their combative capabilities were rarely needed. Instead the Templar are known for their great songs and chorus, which they practiced in homage to the Gods.
Over many centuries of homage and discipline to the Gods, the Templar learned to create empowering effects with their songs, their songs could strengthen the weak, empower the ailed, and some say they could even raise the dead. Even the weakest of the elderly would feel the energy to fight in the presence of a Templar, if ever the Continent of Forlusha were to be attacked, the Templar could transform every citizen of Forlusha into fighters to defend their continent.
Needless to say, Nihara knew the Templar were enough to support her and the Mercy of Dwayna complete the task given, although even with the Templar, Nihara felt it was a grave mistake to return to the temple. But Nihara realized that Sorron would not consider abandoning the temple, so she did not argue the matter further. Nihara told Sorron, “Give us two days to prepare, then we will return and cleanse the temple”.
That night, Balthazar and Grenth returned to the temple, they feared Lyssas omen, and wanted to ensure that Rosha was still dismembered, if nothing more. They passed through the blood soaked halls of the temple to each of the rooms where Rosha dismembered body lay, and each was still in its place, still guarded by dozens of undead warriors. Balthazar and Grenth were relived, at least Rosha was still no threat. Balthazar questioned Grenth, “Why did you need to decorate the entire temple with his blood, was he not an honorable foe?” Grenth replied, “I did not paint the temple in blood, Rosha body bleed heavily when he died, unlike any man, but something else has colored the ceiling and walls, this is a mystery.” Balthazar then thought, “Perhaps Rosha still lives, his spirit has not passed, it must still be here somewhere.” Grenth agreed, “Yes his spirit has not passed, but I cannot sense it here either, or rather, I feel him here, but I cannot place him to a specific location.” Balthazar then suggested, “We must find Lyssa and find out how she has caused this, we must finish Rosha once and for all, who knows what calamity he could bring if he returned.”
After Balthazar and Grenth left the temple, several of the monks of The Mercy of Dwayna secretly snuck into the temple. Many of them were tainted by Rosha allure when he was still alive, and when the blood of Rosha fell on them, they were tainted with an uncontrollable desire to return to the temple and seek him. The young maidens went in alone, seeking for Rosha in vain, they were haplessly slaughtered by Grenths undead minions, and their blood mingled with the pools of blood in the temple.
When the next day broke The Mercy of Dwayna gathered to discuss how they would go about cleansing the temple, it was then that they noticed several of their members were missing. Nearly a third of the guild had wandered away in the night, and no one saw where they went to. The time they should have spent planning their task, they spent looking for their comrades, but they were nowhere to be found. After a whole day of searching and asking around they came up empty handed, and some began to fear the worst for the missing members.
The next night, a few more of the maidens of The Mercy of Dwayna snuck into the temple, ones who could not make their way the night before without being seen, even though these few realized that the other missing members of their guild may have been lured here before hand, they blindly followed the irresistible impulse to search for Rosha. These too died by the hands of the Undead Minions of Grenth, and their blood mixed with the pools of blood in the temple.
The next day The Mercy of Dwayna set out to meet the templar, as they gathered together before the temple they realized a few more of their guild members had gone missing, they waited for some time for these members to show up, but they never did. The templar stood ready to escort The Mercy of Dwayna, and as they were mostly composed of men, some of them “noticed” many of the members of the mostly female guild. Wile the templar and monks waited for the remaining members, many of them began to acquaint themselves. During all the flirting, many of them lost track of the time, and the day passed to late afternoon before they realized how much time had been lost. It was very apparent that the missing members were not showing up, and they had waited longer then they should.
The day was moving to dusk, and the Maidens decided they had already lost too much time to wait any longer. With so little time spent devising a plan to take on the temple, they decided to go with their initial conclusions, which was to split the group of monks in half and put each with 1 platoon of the templar to search the temple. But at this point The Mercy of Dwayna had been reduced by half of its original number, and they barely had enough in each group to sustain themselves and the 12 templar in each platoon.
The Blood in the temple was thick, as the maidens and their escort waded through pools of blood they tried to cleanse the temple, but the blood was so much that there was no removing it from the temples walls. Nihara was still wary, and suggested to her group that they should try working near the entrance to drain the blood from the temple, they set up siphons to drain the blood from the temple, but the blood would not flow out of the temple, even though it should have naturally spilled from the temple, it did not.
At this time the second group was working their way into the temple, they were attacked by the undead guardians, but the templar slew them with great ease, slashing down the undead with their mighty halberds before the enemy could even reach them. This group really didn’t know what to do, they were so overwhelmed by the presence of blood and horror in the temple that they were unable to focus on their task. And though they did not wish to go further into the temple, the temple, or perhaps the blood, seemed to sway them further into the temple. As the maidens reached one of the central rooms of the temple, they were assaulted by a great number of undead and unusual spirits. The templar were more then a match for the undead hordes, but the spirits took them by surprise, and some of them where injured. Yet the maidens of The Mercy of Dwayna tried their best to sustain the escort, and eventually the undead hordes and spirits where felled. Two of the Templar were slain, but the monks where more then proficient in the ways of resurrection, and restored them to life. The group moved into the room, in order to gain a defensive advantage, with only one opening for attack.
As they set up their position, they noticed something lying on a platform at the end of the room. The maidens went to examine it, as they neared the object, they felt something lying in their path, hidden in the pools of blood. On closer examination they realized what they were walking over, and turned pail with fear. It was the corpses of their sisters in the Mercy of Dwayna, many of their members which had gone missing were discovered there, slashed to death. They where beyond saving, having been dead for some time, the maidens were struck with grief, but could not mourn because they were in such grave circumstances themselves. The maidens looked closer to see what was on the platform at the end of the room, only to find Rosha Head, severed. The maidens where astonished, not only to see Rosha severed head, but it was still perfectly intact, with no sign of decay, just as fair as it had ever been. And apparently Rosha still had an aura of seduction about him, as the maidens found themselves uncontrollably drawn to him.
One of the maidens reached out to touch Rosha head, and as she did, Rosha awoke, his eyes gleaming with such an invigorating terror yet also attractive. Rosha bit into the maidens arm, and drained her of life in nearly an instant, the other maidens bucked in fear, but as they ran towards the templar at the entrance of the room, the pools of blood came to life, and blades of blood flew through the room slashing the maidens to death. The templar did not even have the time to react, by the time the realized the maidens where being attacked, they were already dead.
The temple made a noise, almost like a moan, the first group of maidens with Nihara heard it and shuttered. At the time they were trying to remove the blood from the temple with pails, but when the blood was dumped outside the temple, it remained intact and almost seemed to return to the temple on its own. Right at the time they where trying to dump the first pails of blood from the temple did they hear that horrifying sound. Nihara ordered her sisters to retreat from the temple at once, as they fled the blood of the temple lashed out and slashed down a few of the monks and templar. They tried to retrieve their felled members, only to lose more to the wicked blades of blood, there was nothing they could do to defend against them.
The templar which were in the temple, now without any monks to heal them where also slaughtered by the wicked blades of blood, and as they died the blood of the temple slowly began to recede, returning to Rosha. The undead guarding the other members of Rosha body where destroyed by an onslaught of blood, they stood no match for Rosha unnatural power, and the members of Rosha body collected together in the center of the temple and combine of their own will to restore Rosha in whole, lapping up every drop of blood in the temple in the process. ROSHA WAS REBORN.
Meanwhile, the gods contemplated how they would dispel Rosha power from the temple, Dwayna and Melandru where not pleased with the idea of destroying their former love, but realized it must be done for the safety of Forlusha. Wile they were considering what could be done to dispel Rosha, Grenth suddenly realized his underlings had been destroyed. He quickly notified his peers, “Something is terribly wrong, the safeguards around Rosha have been Destroyed, we must return to Forlusha at once!”
Nihara and her remaining sisters of The Mercy of Dwayna ran back to Eathin, the city, and informed Sorron what had transpired, when Sorron realized that his brother was still alive, he was almost happy, for he already missed his brother, but from the faces of his wife and here companions, and their story of the slaughter of their sisters, he knew this was far from good news. Eathin Sorron commanded his forces to assemble in full arms, and sent orders for all of his nearby forces to meet him at the temple.
The largest army Forlusha had ever assembled, and ever needed, meet at the temple to confront Rosha, and as they formed around the temple the gods also descended to confront Rosha, all but Lyssa that is. It was now night, and only a Full Moon lit the ground as the armies gathered around the temple. Grenth planned, “We should wait till the humans have given their lives that I may have…material to defeat Rosha.” Dwayna did not approve, and decided to empower the armies of Forlusha that they may stand a chance against Rosha. As the armies surrounded the temple, Sorron called out, “Show yourself brother, and face trial for the transgressions you have committed against Forlusha and the Gods.”
Then out of the temple…..Rosha appeared. He walked out of the temple, but his feet didn’t seem to touch the ground, and though his motions were of slow steps, he seemed to slide across the ground very quickly. Rosha was dressed in the finest armor, which looked like a formal suit made out of the hardest metals, yet very durable at the same time, and behind him fluttered a long cape which waved in the wind in an almost unnatural manner. Black was his armor, with a standing collar that came up to his ears reached forward to points in the front, his well fitted armor contoured to the impressive physical build of his body, and he had in his hand an indescribable weapon which looked like a glowing claw over the outside of his hand. Rosha stood at the front of the temple and replied “What transgressions have I committed against Forlusha and the Gods?”
Sorron was almost joyful to see his brother, but the presence of him was so overpowering and mysterious, with such frightening overtones. Sorron declared, “You have angered the gods with your haughty actions, and slain several of your own people in your ravenous onslaught.” Rosha turned his head slightly to the right, as if disinterested, and replied, “I have done nothing to the gods that they have not done to each other, they have tampered and toyed with me to their pleasing, and are responsible for the consequences of their own actions.” Sorron was taken back by his brother’s reply, for in his mind it was rather rational, it was the gods tampering that made Rosha what he was, and if they had not meddled with Rosha then none of this would have transpired. Then Sorron declared, “Whatever the influence the gods may have had on you does not justify the lives taken in the temple by your hand, you have slain many members of The Mercy of Dwayna in order to resurrect yourself, they were innocent of your demise.”
Rosha then turned to his left and said, “I was cursed and damned by the gods for their petty rivalries, and torn asunder, I have done no more wrong than has been done to me, out of self defense and survival.” Rosha then turned and faced his brother, looking him dead in the eyes, “If you wish to judge me for the transgressions you claim I have committed, then so be it, I do not wish to fight you brother, but if you attack me, I assure you, you will be the last ruler of Forlusha in the lineage of Eathin, I will strike in return for every offense you bring against me.”
Sorron was shocked, never had his brother uttered a harsh word against him, nor anyone else. Rosha had been kind and forgiving his whole life, and never intended ill will on anyone, for Sorron to see such malice and disregard toward him and his lineage, his son, broke Sorron heart. Sorron pleaded, “Please Rosha, do not abandon your people and the gods, nothing good can come of this dissention, we must ask the gods for forgiveness, and maybe they will pardon your transgressions.”
Then Rosha declared, out loud to all of the armies around him and to the gods themselves, “You are no match against my power, you have sewn your own fate by coming here to confront me, I shall cast out the gods and bind Forlusha in eternal damnation for what you have done to me, I will be the one to judge you!, and you are fools to believe you can do anything to stop me.”
With that, Balthazar descended before the armies of Forlusha, and commanded that they slay Rosha for his insolence and blasphemy. Sorron did not want to fight, but his armies followed Balthazar into battle, Balthazar gave them courage to fight and led them into battle.
A wave of soldiers marched on Rosha from every direction, with only the temple as a means of retreat, but Rosha stood there and waited for their assault. As the platoons of soldiers came into range, rangers fired off volleys of arrows, and elementist cast spells on Rosha, but Rosha captured the elementist spells and turned the energy into a barrier of frozen flames, the flames caught onto every arrow and they dropped from the weight of the icy fire. Warriors and Templar began to move in on Rosha with weapons ready…but as they reached Rosha, a group of women made their way from the temple to fight by Rosha, they where the dead maidens of The Mercy of Dwayna, but they had been transformed into something else, with peerless beauty and seduction, they were near mirrors of Rosha power, as they descended from the temple to fight by Rosha and protect them, their beauty was enough to distract and nearly stop the advancing soldiers on Rosha, they joined in battle to fight for Rosha, against near helpless men.
The women, like Succubi, thrashed through the waves of men with little resistance, if not for the women in the armies, there would be no resistance at all. But Dwayna reached out and cured the fallen warriors, giving them the strength to fight again, but to little progress, for the resurrected warriors simply fell again, and after each fall they were even less and less of a match against the succubi.
Then Balthazar drew battle with Rosha, this time with no delusions of Rosha being weak. He swung his great sword at Rosha with unrelenting power, he knew Rosha would not fall to any small blow so he put his full force behind each attack. But Rosha did not rely on his beast like transformation to overcome Balthazar this time, Rosha cape, large and flowing, fluttered back and forth around Rosha, blocking Balthazars’ perception, and at each slash Rosha had more then enough time to move out of the way. Rosha blinding speed and distracting cape easily overcome Balthazars’ powerful blows. Grenth saw the opportunity to slow Rosha that way Balthazar could get in a clean hit, and cast a prison of ice around Rosha, but Rosha saw through Grenths tactic, and as the prison of ice formed around him, Rosha transformed it into his own frozen flames and set Balthazar ablaze with all the power of Grenths spell.
Then Melandru and Dwayna worked together, using the earth around him to bind Rosha in place, wile simultaneously hurling an orb of lightning at Rosha. Rosha was hit hard, the first real damage he had taken so far, the elementist realized that Rosha could not defend against lightning, so they all prepared themselves for lightning instead, and cast volleys of lightning at Rosha, but as they prepared to shock Rosha, one of his faithful succubi removed the hexes binding Rosha. Rosha made a swift lunge toward Melandru who intended to bind him again, and he bit into her, his cape wrapped around Melandru and enshrouded his assault. Dwayna and the many Elementist struck Rosha with all their might, but they made a terrible mistake. As Rosha drained the life out of Melandru to sustain himself, he replicated the damage he took upon Melandru that she would be struck with equal force. The power of Dwayna and the surrounding elementist served to defeat Melandru for Rosha, Melandru, drained by Rosha, and smashed by the power of a few dozen lightning attacks, was out of the battle, barely alive after such a devastating assault.
The succubi turned on the many elementist, tearing them apart and feeding themselves on their spilt blood, the warriors and templar were no match for the succubi by this point, in spirit and in power, after being beaten and resurrected so many times, and there was little to keep the succubi from thrashing through the lines of soldiers, the armies of Forlusha where being mercilessly slaughtered.
Dwayna could no longer sustain the armies of humans, and instead focused her power on striking at Rosha, Rosha turned upon Dwayna with a gaze of seduction, and in an instant she was paralyzed, Rosha ascended on Dwayna with superlative speed in an attempt to drain her once more, and she was defenseless against his charms. But Balthazar lunged in the way and caught Rosha off guard, throwing Rosha into the temple with a mighty blow. Rosha crashed into the temple, then summoned his beast like strength to overcome his injury and turned on Balthazar. In the mean time, Grenth set up spirits of destruction, since the humans where no long any help in the battle, he decided to fell them all and use their corpses to summon golems of flesh, and waves of minions and horrors. Grenth set upon Rosha a miasma of curses as he did before, and sent in his undead hordes to defeat Rosha once more. But time it was different, Rosha faithful succubi used their remaining healing skills to remove the curses on Rosha, and Rosha easily slaughtered the hordes with superlative ease. Balthazar lunged in with a powerful blow, and Rosha tried to catch his attack, but Dwayna, who regained her senses, knocked Rosha down with a mighty gale, Rosha was struck deep, and he began to bleed. With the undead hordes beaten, Rosha returned to his former state, and fought Balthazar with his speed and distraction. Dwayna tried to use the wind to knock him off his guard, but Rosha took hold of his blood like a weapon and cast it at Dwayna in a barrage of blades, distracting her. Then with his superlative speed and agility, he assaulted Balthazar, slashing him left and right with a weapon, like claws made out of elemental energy, throwing blades of blood at Balthazar from a distance as he dodged his attack, and slashing with his claws at every opportunity. Balthazar grew weak to Rosha onslaught, Balthazar tried a desperate swing at Rosha with all the power he had left, yet Rosha countered his attack and bit into him, regaining his strength and energy.
Balthazar had no strength left to fight, and the humans… and the minions they were made into, where all defeated. Grenth took the time to defeat all of Rosha succubi wile Balthazar fought with Rosha, but when he saw Balthazar defeated, he was gravely afraid. Grenth sacrificed his own health to strike Rosha with shadow attacks and plagues, but Rosha was too strong to be overcome. Rosha, with almost no resistance, lunged at Dwayna, she threw a few lightning bolts at Rosha to stop him, but either she did not put her full force behind them, or Rosha was too strong to be stopped, and he moved upon Dwayna, ceasing her and bit her, draining her power again and healing his wounds. Grenth struck at Rosha again, sacrificing his own health to damage Rosha, but the damage hit Dwayna as well, and Rosha simply drained Dwayna further to heal his wounds.
Then Grenth pleaded, “Stop, we shall surrender, you have beaten us!” Rosha had already drained Dwayna so much that she had no power left to fight, he dropped her like a limp mortal, and turned to Grenth. Rosha would have likely struck down Grenth as well, but he was already drained from sacrificing his own health to attack Rosha, Grenth was no match for Rosha at this point. Grenth submitted to Rosha, “We gods shall leave Forlusha if you would only spare us, we are beaten, and can do you no harm, please do not destroy us.” Rosha was reeling with power, immeasurable strength from drinking from the gods; he took a moment to calm his mind, then he replied with malice in his eyes.
Just then Lyssa appeared, with a smug look of satisfaction they moved toward Rosha as to take side with his victory. But Rosha was not amused, he lashed at Lyssa, and they jumped back. Lyssa did not understand, she asked, “Why do you attack me? I have done nothing but love you since the day we have met, I have protected our relationship against their meddling intervention.” Rosha replied, “It is your selfish desire which has caused all of this, you did not love me when you cursed me with this seduction, you did not love me when you cursed me to attack Dwayna, you only wanted me for yourself, to fulfill your desires, never once thinking of my wellbeing or all the destruction you would cause on Forlusha. Damn you Lyssa, I wish I had never met you, I wish this calamity had never come upon Forlusha…if only you gods would refrain from meddling in the affairs of mortals.”
Rosha was no longer angry with Grenth and the gods, instead he felt sorry for the calamity which had befallen him and his country. Before Lyssa appeared, Rosha was going to tell Grenth that he would destroy them and tear Forlusha apart, but when he saw Lyssa his heart was filled with grief and he remembered how lonely he was, but he could not forgive Lyssa for the destruction that came of her meddling, and instead felt sorry for himself, and for Forlusha. Rosha commanded, “Leave here at once, you no longer reside in Forlusha, you are no longer our Gods, I shall replace you and your rule, and be the God of Forlusha.” With that Grenth took Melandru, Balthazar, and Dwayna, and left Forlusha forever.
Lyssa assumed to leave as well, but before she could leave, Rosha commanded her to wait. Rosha said, “Your rule includes the line of Eathin, you will take Roshir with you, and he will not return to Forlusha for as long as I reign.” With that, Rosha turned to the city of Eathin, and took the little Eathin Roshir, and gave him to Lyssa. Lyssa said to Rosha, “Please forgive me, I only wanted to love you, I never thought of anything else.” Then Rosha told Lyssa, “You should have loved me enough to consider my wellbeing, instead you manipulated and altered me to fulfill your own desires without any thought to the consequences, you didn’t love me as I was.”
Then Rosha said, “I shall judge Forlusha for their offense against me, this land shall be subjugated to my will, I will be the God of Forlusha, and I will decide what is right, I shall spawn people in my image who serve me, and unless the original gods can dethrone me, you have no right to meddle in my domain.” With that he commanded Lyssa to leave Forlusha forever, and take with her the infant Roshir, that there would be no more rulers to govern Forlusha besides himself. And after Lyssa left Forlusha, Rosha sealed all the portals and entrances to Forlusha through the mist, in all times, that the gods could not return to Forlusha, and that they could not return to Forlusha in the past and meddle in his domain.
Likewise, when the gods recovered their strength, they set up safeguards and barriers around Forlusha, that none may enter or leave the continent, and further sealed the passages of the mist to Forlusha, that Rosha would remain in his domain, in a prison of his own choosing. The five original gods now had a sixth god, but he was in spite of them. Dwayna, Melandru, Balthazar, Grenth, and Lyssa, all agreed that the magics and powers given to Rosha were too powerful, and banned the knowledge and use of these magics from ever being offered or given to any person in any of their creations. The gods also decided that they should not interact with humans directly, for calamity may befall them once more, so they decided to speak to their creations through mediums and Avatars, that they would not come in direct contact with their creations.
Thus the gods did turn to make other creations, this time avoiding the pitfalls they had made before. Of the many creations they did heir, none would ever be like Forlusha, and the gods continued to create one creation after the other, trying to find the same satisfaction they had in Forlusha, without falling into their previous mistakes.
