Memoirs of an Elementalist
From the first time I saw him he wanted me to call him father. I remember him as he was walking toward me in th forest, I was cold and alone and didn't remember how I got where I was. He had an air of knowledge about him that made me relax some. He took my had and told e his name Herald Ember.
From that day forth he called me son. I grew up north of The Great Wall in a small place named Grendich Courthouse, everything was peaceful except the occasional Char that appeared from time to time. Those were the times that I loved. My adoptive father and mother noticed that at even the young age they found me in the forest at (possibly 5 or so), I had a natural talent to wield fire and summon servants from the recently dead. For over 20 years I lived with and learned from them until there was a call to arms from Ascalon.
The day I left my small home my father told me to never forget friends and family. I never have. I made new friends at the academy real quick and honed my skills like no others could, quickly gaining the respect and fear of the other students there.
Then the searing came and ruined everything for us. I saw the wall get breached and the fire fall from the sky, but with all my abilities I couldn't save the ones that I called family. I ran back to where my childhood home stood and saw nothing but a hole where it once stood . There were several dozen Char standing over what appeared to be a bonfire , then I looked closer. I was the bodies of the people that i grew up knowing and loving and on the very top was my mother. In a fit of rage I proceeded to summon a rain of fire and meteors down upon the Char. On that day I swore to some day get revenge on the ones responsible for this carnage.
I made my way back to Ascalon and seeeing the ruins it was in I pledged to Prince Rurik that I would fight for truth and justice no matter where it took me. And so my journey begans. Form that day forward I haven't stopped searching out evil and wiping it out. Learning new skills to bring about my revenge.
