You're screwed. I had it happen to me 5 times in a row once. I couldn't figure if any situation(favor, district, time of day) was triggering it or anything, it's all random I guess.

You need to pull the avicara away from the imps and kill them one by one....
Kill the Wise first as they usually stick around your aggro while the other run back their spawn. It takes a little more time to kill them all but it's possible.
Whenever you see the brave's and guile running towards you while you're attacking the wise, just run away until they start running towards their spawn again. Just repeat the actions every time they do so.

With Dolyak/Watch Yourself and Elemental resistance on that shouldn't be a problem.....
if you're uncomfortable and feel like you're taking a lot of dmg, just use the healing signet more often but try to use in when you have Dolyak/Watch Yourself on. Once you get used to it it won't be a problem at all and you'll be able to take on bigger groups too.
Other thing, always have your elemental resistance on because the damage you will be taking will reduce immensely.
Good luck hunting...

That was my intent. =) It just seems to fit the mood of the run to me, somehow.

What grip are you using on your weapon? You could try switching it to a +7 elemental defense, and see if that -1 turns into -0 =)

i use a 10/7 sundering war axe of defense (+5). maelstrom does 0dmg to me now, i just have to put on my regular helm (instead of the HoD helm) before i fight the imps. now that i've gotten past that problem i keep running into new ones!! everytime i go there are always 4-5 heretics parked right in my way to mineral springs. they are literally impossible to avoid since they just stand near the lil passage that u have to walk through (the one right be4 mineral springs zone). i have to take a group of 3 IDS warriors now since i cant get past it any suggestions?

Heretics are the luck of the draw...sometimes you face them sometimes you don't.
What I usually do if I run into the first group before mineral springs is, I pull them away from the resurection shrine and let them kill me so when I spawn back on the shrine they are not in my aggro circle. The you just have to wait for the other group to finish patrolling, they will move away from the Mineral Springs portal.
Once you reach the Mineral Springs you can work the DP off by killing Avicara Fierce, or you could just use candy canes.
Good luck.

Very nice! I tried this a few minutes ago, but the spawn was really bad. The Imps were OUTSIDE the cave along with some Siege Golems. Impossible to survive that.
edit: It seems that they have put a Siege Golem there to prevent the build.
The Imps aren't a problem, but the Golem is.
They are dealing more dmg, making my Heal sig take 349346 years to cast.
Why?

You rock, I tried it the first time with HoD helm, dragons chest, wavern leggings, and ascalon boots, The could barely touch me, and I still had enough energy to keep elemental resistance on. 7 imp dropped one. Thats all I wanted, I am not in it to sell it, I just wanted to get one with my own hands. I dropped sword down to 11 and beefed strength up 1 and inspiration up one. I didn't have a good sword so I used my candy cane one. 8 damage a hit, but the DoT did the work.

Ice golems have a skill "Rust" which makes signets take 3 times longer to cast.
This is why you need to kill the Trolls and Golems first. I always kill the Troll first because of his Disrupting Chop, then I kill Ice Golem that. I haven't really had any problems with them since they are fairly easy to kill before my health drops below 50.
Kapper sorry if I hijacked your thred, I'm just trying to help them

i think bringing the move "hex breaker" would be a smart idea. i mean with dolyak signet you cant always get up to a golem fast eunff to use savage slash or desperation blow on the golem. maybe even remove hex would work but rust is the move thats screwing us all over XP

Just a quick question, any of you tried the build with Mantra of Frost instead of Elemental Resistance? You won't get the snot kicked out of you by Trolls (with the big penalty vs. physical) and you'll never be without full energy for more than a few seconds. A bit more cold dmg will get through, but heal signets should be able to take care of it relatively easily.

Yolanda, Mantra of Frost is useless. Elemental Resistance is essential for this run.
Also with monster spawns you can be real unluky. Ive not seen this video but if you take the first right in Mineral springs (The inner route to the cave) There is a group of Avica's there. They block the tiny passage when you start going down hill on your way to the Mountain. If Hyl Thundwing/bird is there, then basicallly you are totally rooted :P I wasted like 20 candy canes trying to pass him but to no avail :P
I learnt this run from Razor :-P
My Attributes for the solo run are,
Inspiration: 5 (5)
Strength:12+1 (13)
Swordsmanship:9+3 (12)
Tactics: 8+1 (9)
I use the gladiator armor and a
IDS or FDS (Mx dmg)
crimson caprace sheild: Armor:16 Health+45 Receives -2 to Dmg
Basically if Mountain Trolls spawn it is absolutely essential that you kill them first. When they come up to you and start hitting you, use Dolyak sig. when that runs out then use Watch urself.
Ive done 3 solo runs and got 2 IDS in the first 2 i did.
I thought I might add a note,
THE 5 ESSENTIAL SKILLS
Elemental Resistance, Dolyak Sig, Healing Sig, Watch Yourself, Sprint
For the other spaces I use
- Hundred Blades Elite Skill(the imps tend to group together)
- Sever Artery
- Gash
Notes:
-Kill Mountain Trolls First (Priority)
-Mantra of Frost is no good
-Try to avoid using Watch urself and Dolyak at the same time. Use Watch Yourself when Dolyak runs out.
Ive not watched the video but I can imagine what it looks like :-) Well done

Very glad to hear it. The intent of the video was so anyone who wants one has a reasonable ability to get one...plus the challenge of doing it yourself was fun, I though. So I'm glad so many people like you have been able to get one.
