(Thinking)process of Bowdesign
0 - Form a rough design or idea in your head, mine was an armored bow.
1 - I began thinking of an armored grip that wouldn't expose your hand.
2 - It didn't work out to well so started on an entire armorplate for the bow.
3 - Still wanted shielded hands but where am I gonna fire arrows through so worked on a medievel helm thingy.
4 - Ok, liked the segmented armor bits, but the lame grip has to go, way too angular.
5 - Rounded the grip more and added edges for different colours maybe.
6 - Hmm, not really what I intended it to be, maybe the bow needs more body to put the armor over.
7 - Dang it turned into this, I like the design but this isn't "Space Wars"
8 - My finished design which I submitted for the contest.
It has steel plate armor, it looks somewhat organic, to be short I love it and will place it here when the entry-date expires
Some tips:
-I usually only draw the upper part of the bow because it usually looks a bit crooked when I make a complete one.
-Then use a scanner to make a "black and white" bitmap image from it.
-Open it with paint(you can use other programs but we all have paint right) and just copy, paste and mirror(vertically) the upper part and place it under the original making a whole bow(note that the handle has to be 99% vertical or it won't look good).
-You can add or delete stuff from it, print it out to draw more things into it, you name it.
