The 1 Million Commission Contest
To be revealed soon!
For now, some thoughts of Fellow-Art-Appreciators and Artists
The main question is, Do I rise the pot above 1 Million?
And is it too soon after the Shan/Sanra thread?
For now, tell me whatya' think!

Perhaps combine with the OGAWC plan for a grand commission?

I'd be down with that, totally. And technically, whoever is in any entry could count it as one of their own pieces. I wouldn't be able to personally front any prizes for it [dear god so broke], but I think it would be damn cool to see. Get it all organized, and maybe start it at the beginning of May, just to give a cooldown period after Sectus' contest.

get everyone in on it, then give them the subject and a 24 hour deadline. that'd be interesting. i'd go for that.

Well... wait at least to see the results of the Shan/Shanra contest, which should give artists enough time for a breather. Then it won't be too soon after anymore.
Oh, and there's that other drawing contest currently going too. Someone was a bit faster than you. But if you combine it with the idea OGAWC had, I'll definitely support it by entering if possible (and two art contests at a time isn't too bad, especially since summer is just around the corner).
If you decide to go with your own idea for the contest, I will probably enter that too if the idea is interesting enough.

It's scaring, actually, with graduation steadily creeping up on me But I prolly can't resist the temptation anyway (and if Deadline is sometime after the 5th of June, I'll have nothing left to do but draw)

I don't think having multiple contests at a time is bad either just need to have enough time to work. By that ofcourse I mean like give us a month to sort out our lives and few days for the actual drawing. 'Tis how it goes hehe. xD
At least for me summer currently doesn't equal any sort of vacation or free time, at least not anytime soon. Tough life. :P

The thing is I'm not officially an OGAW, making it quite useless to sponsor them in some sort of way, since you're all broke
I'm just wondering if I should stall this, or start right away...

I think you should wait a bit, maybe a week or two, for the artists to have a chance to take a breather. Contests are great fun, but too many of them might tire out some people and you might not get as many entries.
Or if you want to start it right away, at least give us ample time to draw. A deadline one or even two months away would be great and would let us have time to work on the piece properly.

Spardus has a contest starting in May I beleive, where is is offering a free fow set to the winner. I would coordinate with him, so as not to wear these fine artists out.
Also it's nearing exam/finals time so many artists will be busy with real coursework.
The total pot for our contest was 1.1 ish million I think
Thanks for asking about it tho. i'm sure it's appreciated.
