personally, I think extending the deadline again might be a little unfair for those artists who struggled hard to meet the original one - and made it. I'm studying Design, so I know a ton about deadlines, and missing one is the worst thing you can do in my profession. I know this is about fun and not profession, but still I don't like the idea very much. You can't go on forever, and you have already extended once...
(and yes, I know about stress, I'm working on my diploma all day >.<)

anyway, it's not my decision, and my piece is mostly finished... I'll just look at it for another day or so, maybe change something and then post the final version

Yeah, you got a point. Although artists who has already submitted still has the chance to edit their old entry if they wish, or make a new duo/single one.

I'll talk this over with Shan later and we'll see what we decide. I certainly wouldn't want this contest to last forever, but if multiple artists really wants more time we might extend the contest with one more week.

I made this as a gift for anyone who wants new wallpaper, although I suppose it could be an entry too.

I tried to make it like those wallpapers on the Guild Wars website.

Alright, after some careful consideration, we've decided to extend the deadline with 3 days. That way people can use this weekend to work on their entry if they wish.

So the new deadline is Tuesday 24th April. The deadline is at the end of that day at -12 GMT (which means that no matter where you live, as long as you submit your entry on Tuesday or earlier your entry will count)

Note that this is very the final deadline. We can't be persuaded to extend it again, not even if egnki posts another super cute picture.

I'd like to clear up some rules regarding the single drawing prize category, the rules I wrote in the original post wasn't clear enough. The first 2 places for that category is exclusively for Best Shan and Best Sanra pictures. The other 8 places in that category is for other great single character drawings featuring either Sanra or Shanaeri (although they can feature unrelated characters as well). And if an artist submit both a Sanra and Shanaeri single character picture, they're legible to win twice in that category.

Well, I tought I aint gonna have the time to do a commision for this contest, but it looks I was wrong

Last night I had some free time and I decided to do a little painting for this commision. So here it is.
I realy dunno what I wanted here to do with the background (you can see how its not rendered very much). I had an idea of some abandoned, ruined theatre where these two ladies have stumbled upon on their journey. And on top of that theatre theres a long time petrified piano (or organ maybe, with strange "pipes"

), but since it's long pertified long time ago, Shan has to use her magic of illusion to call upon the spirit who dwelves in this thetre to play her some beautifull melody...
So I wanted to do it grayscale with just effects and spirits hands in color, to get some cool effect. And the only reason I drew this character is, well, she had shorter skirt :P

Well, anyhow...I hope you guys will like it, and good luck to all in this contest

Ok since I have a bad habbit to redo and tweak every little detail I (or other people) see missfit, I think I'll stop right here... Otherwise, Im 100% sure that Im gonna miss the deadline for entry submission. Yeah there are things that still have to be changed here... but, I'm gonna leave it as it is, becouse I don't want to leave too nerdy and proffessional effect on you guys...
Im totaly ok with the way it turned out (not satisfied as such, but I like it)

I also added Sanra (hehehe), so she can be added to a story, like she's sitting on top of runed monuments and invoking a melody that spirits tries to play back...or something like that..

Babaroga, that's just awesome! The background is beautiful, and I love the backstory to it. One thing that looks a little odd is her skirt... it looks more like shorts now. Maybe loosen it a little from the front, so it doesn't look like it's dipping that radically between her legs? Her armpit area looks a bit odd too, but it's not as eyecatching as the skirt.

Anyway, very good job otherwise. I love the mood in it, and grayscale really suits the overall image. Brings out the magic.

Just thought I'd say, whilst I'm not usually a fan of prolonging deadlines, in this case it might just save me ^^

Just upgraded my PC, and I'm having a nightmare getting my tablet to work with CS3. Doesn't help that the company who make the drivers went bust some time last year, and so don't support it anymore >_<

Hopefully I'll be able to sort it out

You are totaly right regarding the skirt... As I said Ive done it in one day couse I was in a hurry to complete it before the entry submission is closed. However, since they have changed date to 24th, I'm definetly gonna tweak a lot of little thingies in this image

And regarding the arms...Hmm I realy dont see anything odd there... But I might be wrong

Babaroga, if you look at the position of her head closely, it appears like her head is more on the left side (for her) of her body. The length neck-right arm (for her) is longer than the length neck-left arm. Why this looks like that, is probably due to the armpit thing that perynne pointed out. If its not that then its this: Her left upper arm is too short, its missing length at the top, the arm shouldn't "join" the chest that early, but more to the shoulders.

That said, I have no idea what an arm pit is ^^.
