Need a sig?
STATUS: Easy going. (Last Updated: 5/15/2007)
Status will indicate how busy I am at the moment, which is directly related to how fast I can produce your sigs. If I am under the "OVERLOAD" status I will not take any requests until my backlog has cleared. Please keep that in mind!
I do my sigs in all styles so I don't really have that generic look or style most Photoshop Sig Artists possess.
So if you want a sig, for whatever purpose, please follow this format. It helps both you and me.
FORMAT: (Put N/A if necessary.)
Alias: The name displayed on the sig.
Phrases/Quotes:Any specific phrases, words, etc you want on the signature.
Specifics: If you want a specific picture/image, please link me. And make it high quality if possible. If you want specific effects, or a particular style, don't hesitate. Don't worry, you DON'T HAVE to have specifics. I can make something awesome outta my own imagination. n_n
Will you make the optional payment: Yes/No answer. Leave your In Game Name as well. My IGN is Respectful Merchant, but I'm not online a lot. If you are going to tip me, I will probably contact YOU.
I cannot stress enough it is optional, but if you want to send a more 'effective' appreciation for the time I spent on your sig, this would be a good way. It will have no effect on the quality of your signature, I spend the same effort and devotion on each one. A contribution of 10k will be perfect, but... feel inclined to give more.
*************************
HOSTING:
I will host it on my Photobucket account. I will delete links or change them at anytime, so to be on the safe side upload the image to your own personal site.
*************************
METHODS OF CONTACT:
1. Email: new.canadian.rusty *A-T* gmail.com
2. Post a reply here.
Whatever you contact me with, I'll contact you back using the same method unless specified.
*************************
Sample of my Works:
Here is a slideshow gallery:
http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v2...slideshow=true
I've made a few hundred sigs... and never really had an unhappy result. Here are some random selections from my works.
*************************
PRICING:
FREE!!!!!!
However, everytime I do a sig people offer to pay me even though I said it was free, so if you want to "compensate" me, 10k per sig will do. BUT REALLY, IT'S FREE! No catches!
Why am I doing this for free? It's because I love making sigs for people as much as I love gaming. It's one of my most passionate hobbies, and I'll happily spend hours just getting that extra lightning to make a perfect signature. When I make a sig, I make sure it looks GOOD and it has some meaning for the client; not just a pretty picture.
The other reason is that I AM looking for some contract/work (at home), as a way to make use of my passion. I have taken a few professional design courses and worked many projects before, but I have no 'professional' degrees as such. As I said before, it's my past time, not my career. And I think you would agree that passion & experience always guarantees better results than a degree.
If you like my work and want to dicuss work-related topics, please don't hesitate to contact me at new.canadian.rusty *A-T* gmail.com.

Fixed the links! I had no idea GWG resized links or whatever, so I turned them into tinyurls instead.... kthxbai

??? People charge for sigs on this forum? This is a freebie, but if anyone feels to contract with me actual professional work I'm always open. I've already gotten paid working on side projects.

I mainly use Photoshop, but for animated sigs I use a combination of programs. Reason I don't do many animated sigs is not because I'm not skilled enough, but a still image makes a better impression than an animated sig, and most forums don't like flashing distracting moving pictures.
I had a ton more examples but I recently reformatted and forgot to backup my archives.

Haha yeah, I'm Toiletman. Was one of the old old old regulars when Afterdawn was just starting up. I don't post much anymore, no time and the place pretty much declined into a n00bfest of repeated questions.

Yeah they aren't particularly hard to do, it's just that most forumers find them distracting and people seem to like still picture sigs more than animated ones because they make a better impact or they're more "traditional".

i switch back and forth between regular sigs animated ones. i'd say 80-90% have been regular ones, but once in a while an animated one is nice to change things up a bit. for a basic animated sig you really dont need anything but photoshop.
another problem with too many animated sigs on a page is load time for the images. a couple of forums i moderate come to a grinding halt because not only do people have animated sigs, but avatars, too. thank god for cable.
