Yea Eldred looks neat, I should've modeled the 1.5k Canthan scar instead of the 15k Sunspear though. >_<

Yea you got the attitude spot on but as you said the drawing has it's flaws. Like I said man take your time, don't rush these cause I'm a patient man.
The hand I can see is a big problem and I think I have a relatively easy remedy for it. You can have his hand angled more toward his chest to keep the focus away from the hand (Think Reno's (FF7) standard battle pose with his nightstick). I see nothing wrong with the flag stand, sure it may be unnattural but so is fighting with a candy cane! With the hair, I notice you got the Kurzick flag somewhat drifiting to the viewer's right hand side so maybe have his the bangs on the left slightly blown to the right in order to compliment his flow.
