Welcome my fellow GW enthusiasts! You’re here on this forum for the same reason I am: You love the visual style of Guild Wars as much as the characters you play in the game world. I am also here because I like to draw.

Ink & Photoshop

Here is my necro, Armand, using his life’s blood to fuel a deadly spell. In my imagination, the eyes on the necrotic armor actually function. Armand is my eldest character and sort of the patron of the Blackgate family. I actually created him during the Prophecies Beta and have been stuck on the necro profession ever since. The only other class I enjoy playing is my Ritualist, Aksora.

After seeing quite a few able artists here, I have decided to throw my talent into the pool. Which means I am officially taking commissions.

Now, before I aggro the mob, there are a few things I should let you all know:

Pricing and Payment:

My fees are:
- 60 k for a full color digital image.
- 30 k for a Shaded Black & White traditional image.
- 15k for a Non-shaded Black and White Line Art traditional image.
- There is a 5k up charge if you want me to design an outfit for your character. (Color or B&W)
- Orders with multiple subjects - pets, monsters or characters - are special order. For Line drawings there is a flat 5k rate per subject. For Shaded B&W and Color orders the rate will be determined by the complexity of the additonal subject(s). Shaded will be between 10-20k per and Color will be between 15-30k per. **If you have already submitted an order, simply update your post with any changes.

I’m going to have to take a page out of Babaroga’s playbook here. Upon completion of your order, I will send you a low res jpeg with security markings and set up a time to meet in game. Once paid, I will email you a high res jpeg.
I cannot stress enough that there is no benefit for me to cheat you. An artist’s rep is everything and no one else is going to pay for a pic or your character. Trust me.

Submissions:

*I do not accept initial submissions through PM. If you contact me that way first, I will hold your place in line, but you must make an official request on this thread before I will begin work on your commision. No exceptions. Also, I would appreciate any requests for order changes be posted on this thread as well. I like to keep things all tidy and in one place.

When you submit a request, I need a clear front, back, and side view of your character wearing the outfit you want. I also need a front and profile close up of their face. If you opt to pay the additional 5k to have me design an outfit for you, I only need the facial close up shots.

I would also like a brief paragraph describing your character’s personality. Now don’t get carried away, I don’t need a novel – 4 or 5 sentences will do just fine. It is just something to aid me when drawing your pic.

As of right now, I am not accepting requests for detailed backgrounds. This could change in the future, but first I want to see how I handle the initial character commissions first.

Welp…I guess that’s it. I will update this thread with my work status and a gallery of work completed. If you prefer I don't display your order here, just let me know and I will remove it.

Nice stuff, I'd love to put a request in for a commission for the traditional black and white.

The attached image is all I have right now of my warrior, I should be able to get some better shots once I'm on my home system if you require them. What he has on there (shield optional, whatever you think works best) is what I'd like in the commission.

About him:

Awesome man. I can definitely work with these shots and your description brings an image of someone with souless, and perhaps a bit desperate, eyes to my mind. Though it may be hard to showcase his eyes and that sweet helm at the same time. I'll start working on the pencils right away. What's the name of the sword and shield? I want to look them up on guildwiki for a little more reference.

I love the helmet, even if it's not on his head in the shot (at the side or something, on the ground) that works too. With or without helm, whichever you think would look best. Bah I'm indecisive.

Heh. From the lack of enthusiasm, I can only assume that either my artwork sucks or my prices are too high!

Every good business must learn what is good for pricing, and in doing a little more browsing I can see that there are definitely too many good artists here offering their services for much cheaper for me to ask for 85-100k - regardless of what I feel my work is worth. I mean, why pay $3.50 at the pump, when the gas down the street is 2.75? You have to stay competative to stay afloat, eh?

So, if you have previously viewed this thread and thought, "Good lord, that's a lot of money!" (As some people have graciously advised me. Thanks) Take a look at my prices again. You may be pleasantly surprised.

Or my work could just suck. Then there would just be no hope for me!

Racthoh, since you have already submitted for a commission, let me know if you want to keep your order the same or change it. I need to know, because I ink the pics I do in Photoshop and have to know what you want to be able to proceed.

Very nice, I like your pictures. I take this one for my ranger: - 60 k for a full color digital image. It´s a good price for your art/work.
About my ranger:
His name is Wald Jaeger. He is a young ranger and has grown up in the old ascalon. As a boy he fought for his life and survived. He learns the great art of chest running from an old master. But one day he was attacked by monsters. Wald Jaeger was alone and had no chance to defent himself. He had luck, they didn´t kill him and a little girl found him. So he survived. At the moment he is a powerful ranger and he is in fear of nothing. He found a few friends.....Sometimes he goes out with some of them. He would die for his friends when they are in danger.

Maybe in a few days/weeks you can make an other character in B&W, but first let´s see what you make with my ranger

Don't know if you feel like giving me a little personality quip or not. But if it doesn't really matter to you, I'll apply my own personality to her. Up to you really. One thing I would like to know...is she tall, a munchkin, or somewhere inbetween?

She is just 22 yrs old, but has already travelled Tyria and Cantha, and is just starting her journey through Elona. A brave warrior, loves to be in the middle of a battle, she has a lot of anger in her, and she uses that anger against her enemies.
