Holy crap, that is Grade A stuff. You need to submit these to A-Net - you may have a future job lined up.

Well...he does list guildwars.com as his web page. I could be very wrong, but that suggests to me that he already has that job.
Diablo, I still would looove a link to an online gallery/portfolio of your work.

I realy hope I'm wrong here, but I doubt it.

I plan to pay even if no price is set. But, and I think I speak for several here, if the price is set at 500K as suggested, there is no way I can afford it. I simply do not have that amount of cash.

Usualy when it comes to digital painting most of artists do it this way, and it's cool and easy way to get maximum efficancy from an image.

... Interesting.
I've tried there myself. I mean the greyscale thing.... for some bizarre protohuman image I made once... I didn't ever actually add colour to that.
But in any case... I'm useless at faces... totally and utterly useless. Awkward postures nix me too... enough so that I sometimes have to mirror the posture in the mirror and skip to and from the computer to get it accurate (or just photo myself in the posture)... and that totally messes up whenever I want to try and draw a character shaped anything unlike myself (e.g. any female characters).
That'd be why I haven't even bothered trying with my GW characters yet.
I see all this uber dewm art of much awesomeness... and I know that even if I invested days into making a pic to the best of my ability, it would still be poorly lacking by comparison...

Days? Try years!
I started in this buisnis as environment designer (and that's something I'm realy best in), but when I started adding figures to my enviroments I could get away with some doodels and scratches, but eventualy I got a feeling that design would "sell" better if I learn to draw humanoids as they realy are, and not some stickfigures. So, believe me on this, Last 3 or more years I'm doing humanoids, postures, and facial expresions almost every day just to get a better feel of it.
Practice makes it perfect, and if you want this to be your job, you've just gotta draw - draw- draw 8hrs per day (or more). If not, you'll just suck and won't have any deals. However, if you are not "pro", you can get away with a lot of things.
As far as for digital painting tutorials goes, try to get your hands, if you can on some of tutorials from Gnommon Industries. They are very very good. Also, J.P. Targete has a nice one regarding grayscale-> color painting. Take a look at some of them, it will help!
Cheers

Very nice work here. I'd also like to see a gallery of more of it. Heh. You were asking for it by letting people give you what they think your stuff is worth As honestly your stuff is worth more than in game gold and things. But I like that you are doing it for fun, eh? You're a bigger person than meh that is for sure.
Good luck on the swarm. If you're ever interested in an art trade I would love some of your work...that is if my meger skills would be worth anything to you! I can say that I've long given up on trying to reach such painterly quality realism. I grew up on Looney Tunes and Transformers. My talent is deeply rooted in a more stylized "cartoony" look. But hey, why fight who you are?

Great job on Varesh...though I think the fight scene turned out better than you think. The fish-eye distortion was really well rendered. I am curious though...PS or Painter?

Hi Diablo,
is there really any chance to coax you to draw my character ? I mean- are still you willling to do that, cause I saw your artwork and I was absolutely overwhelmed and just couldn't resist myself not to try to ask you for that.
really humble,
Mordiego
PS. it's a Tormented/obsidian Warrior, a bit of a graphics challenge.
