I've been poking around the internets and seeing that it's that time of the year again.... Christmas is coming! And with it, some very wonderful calendars by online artists. These calendars have 24 slots in all, and each day they reveal another new winter/Christmas inspired artwork. Some of the Calendars are just generally winter-inspired, others are more religious in nature, it all depends on where it's hosted.

So. I had an idea. Why not make a Guild Wars Wintersday calendar? Even though we can't be sure of the exact time Wintersday is being held this year, at least we can keep at it until Christmas.

Are there any artists interested in joining this project? I think this would be a fun idea and give the community a little holiday cheer. It would also be a chance for artists to just have fun in their own way, with their own style.
Submissions wouldn't have to be drawn art, they can be anything Guild Wars and Wintersday themed. That means Photoshopped screens, costumes, candycane figures... anything that shows Guild Wars and Wintersday. The picture itself can be as detailed or as freeform as you want, as long as it keeps to the general idea of a calendar picture.

Anyway, just post in this thread if you'd be interested in participating in this project. If we get enough people, then it will be very easy to fill up all 24 days. I'll also start handing out the days once I get a general idea of how many artists are in.

I actually had one I was planning on making and was thinking of asking others to participate in too if they wanted but I'll happily go with yours Pery. I'm afraid that I won't have the time to be so precise with mine or try to push anyone else to participate in it meaning I would make a pretty bad "host" for such a project. I might just keep it for making silly quick sketches for December.

My template is pretty much rushed too so...but I'll have to see if anything comes out of it. There it is anyways. :P

Awh, nobody else interested? I'll wait over the weekend, and then check the situation again. 3 full-time artists and a few who can do a little later is going to be slightly difficult to pull off, since it'll mean us three will have to draw a couple drawings a week for the first two weeks at least.

Come on! Even screenshot artists are welcome! A nice, photoshopped screen is just as good as a drawing for something like this.

Depends a bit on the quality of work you want though. One full coloured piece I might be able to swing or multiple colour busts/partial colour sketches/full sketches but not multiple full colour w/ background deals.

All quality is fine - even stick figures, if there's some idea in it somewhere.

This calendar is meant to be just for fun and a way to bring some Wintersday cheer to the community, so everyone who wants to participate can do so with whatever they have time for.

Only single rule is that pictures must be Wintersday/GW inspired, and that even a little effort has gone into planning them.

I was hoping you'd notice this thread.

Anyway, I shall be posting the dates list here later this week, and also send it to everyone through PM so people can pick the days they are available for drawing. Is there already someone who knows they could draw during the first week of December? I can do a couple of pictures for it, but it'd be nice to have at least three other artists filling up the days. It's coming up soon, and if we get artists for that then I hope the rest of the month will somehow figure itself out.

Got a little idea I thought of for GIMP when I was bored in school the other day. I got a 5 day weekend coming up thanks to Thanksgiving holiday in North America (mmm... turkey) , so I might be able to work up some stuff, and finish other materials.

Here's a tentative calendar timeline. Please let me know what dates are suitable for you (if possible, include multiple dates so I have a little more leeway as to where I'll put everyone). I'll be expecting the drawings no later than 3 days before your calendar date - this is just to have some leeway to come up with a new drawing, if you're unable to send anything in.

Please send your drawings to me through PM! DO NOT POST THEM HERE, it'll ruin the surprise for the calendar viewers. If you don't have a place to host them, pm me and I'll give you my email where you can send it as an attachment. Also, if you have a website you'd like me to link when your artwork is displayed, please send the link for that along with the picture.

Right now we have 16 artists working for the calendar, from here and from another forum. I'm hoping to either get a few more artists to draw us something, or then if some people could do two drawings that would really help us out. Remember, I'm not asking for full backgrounded masterpieces, just something nice and small to cheer people up waiting for Wintersday. The backgrounded versions are welcome too though.
