They might as well allow e-mailing as that.
But I suppose... if they do allow that then it might be a nifty idea.
I noticed in previous competitions some people actually used 3D modelling programs to do it. I'm not that good with 3DS-Max... but I'm sure I could make a simple weapon mesh.... Texturing however really is my forté. I really wish that A-Net would let me actually make the texture for a set of 15k armour.... I'd be totally elated! ^_^

You know what stinks... having great ideas in head but lousy drawing skills. Sigh...

It's smaller than I had intended, but it's still damn cool to see your stuff in-game!

So we can submit multiple entries?
Do we do them all in the same package or each one in a separate package? It could be quite costly if the latter.... given the number of ideas I've already come up with.... mentally speaking. ^_^

Some of the entries for the last contest I submitted...I almost didn't submit the shield because of how crappy it looked, but Anet art team made it look real nice.
I'm still waiting on the 'design an armor' contest.

Ho man! you made the Forgotton Sword? I love that thing! My Warrior has the Forgotton Blade, Exalted Aegis & Kurzick armor. It all goes so well together and the blade works really well, because it's a female character.
I tend to have a really tough time designing swords, so it's especially cool to me.

A question about contestant who's not a resident of one of the mentioned locations:
Quote:
Originality: Entries must be the creation of the contestant and cannot be taken from any other source....
|
Quote:
Eligibility (location): Entries will be accepted from residents of....
|
So, if a friend of mine who lives in one of the mentioned locations send the entry for me, while I'm listed as the contestant with my own location and name, will the entry be valid? as I can see, its not a requirement that the resident who send the entry will be the contestant.
I truly do not care if the prizes are sent to the address the entry came from, just if my name/country will be the one to be mentioned in the winners list, in the case I win.

I wish I could be an artist like some of you guys; unfortunately I have to stick with my writings on my trilogy. I mean it’s amazing at times what they can come out with just pencil and paper. I just wonder who will get it this time?

Here are some answers to generic and specific questions, to the best of my ability to furnish them:
- You may enter more than one piece of art, but history suggests that's not a good idea. Put your efforts into one, maybe two good drawings. Don't send us a mass; they'll be unlikely to make the cull.
- Only one entry will be passed along to the upper rounds of judging from any one person, and a person can only win one prize.
- We cannot -- I mean literally cannot -- spawn or generate items in the game on the Live Server. I'm sorry, but that means that we cannot give a weapon of the winners' designs to the winners -- they will need to obtain that themselves. That is why there are other prizes, instead.
- You cannot "relay" an entry from someone else. The entry must come from the artist, must be his/her own original art, and any other submittal is fraud.
- We need the original art for a variety of reasons including establishment of originality, as someone suggested, but more importantly for ease of judging. We do not have time to open emailed entries from thousands of people, scan the images, and put them into judging. Nor does the team have time to open thousands of images to judge each. We offer other contests with emailed entries, but simply put, we've listed our entry requirements, and they will not change.
- The rules are reviewed and approved by an attorney. The rules seems to get a bit longer each time, but in part that is due to the fact that each time, we are reaching out to people in more countries and are including them in the contest, so long rules are a small price to pay for a global contest, imo.
- We are only able to offer contests, and award prizes, in countries or regions in which we have had a legal review of the contest rules. This explains the "exceptions" or the restrictions on rules, and we are sorry for that.
- Canada has unique laws for the Province of Quebec, and those laws preclude residents of Quebec from entering contests of this nature. There is a similar legal restriction on contests in Rhode Island.
- So, too, are we required to state that we will required the completion of a mathematical question, for in fact Canada prohibits contests without this requirement as part of the parameters of winning.
- However, let me say that for a full-out random drawing, I could see the justification for the "math question." But for contests where winning is not random, where the entries are judged by an impartial jury of judges, and where winning certainly can be proved to take talent and skill, I have to wonder if the "math question" section of the rules is relevant. We may have simply included that because it's standard "boilerplate" for all contests, including random drawings, but for a contest of this kind--a contest of skill--I'd rather like to know if we must, so I will check with our attorney.
- Someone wrote to ask about the location exceptions within the U.S. or affecting U.S. citizens. Our attorney told me that your legal residency is indicated by where you are registered to vote. So if you're a California resident stationed in Iraq, we don't look at where the entry came from, but where the contestant is a resident. Therefore, a deployed serviceperson would be eligible to participate. However, someone who had been stationed in Germany and is a resident of Germany living on a military base would not be eligible to participate. Since that isn't for us to establish, I would probably predicate an assessment of eligibility on the address given for the shipment of any prize.
- Please feel free to direct questions about the oddity of laws to the respective governments. We do not set the laws; we only observe them.
- Yes, much of this is confusing.
- I apologize for that confusion, and wish more than anything that our contests could be even more global, and much less guided by rules and red tape. But I do appreciate that such requirements are necessary in this day and age, so that's what we do.
Basically, I hope that everyone who can enter will enter. The prizes are good and the fame is long-lasting.

I for one am entering the contest. I happened to miss the last contest, but I'm eager to send in my design this time around. I may not have the artistic ability of Picasso, but I'm proud of my design and will be sending that it. I gave a little love to the Rangers and made a kick ass bow since I think there aren't a whole lot of bows that have an unique cool look.
