Hero, or a humble warrior..?

Chapter 1: Hidden notes.

Gazing at the star on the horizon,
Thinking how I reached this far.
Having to remember this scar,
Given by the damned Charr.
Will I ever be able to forget those memories,
Move on and forget what lies behind…?

And the poem ended. The piece of paper was shred to pieces and that poem seemed to be just a part of a collection or a diary. She kept staring at the piece of paper. Finally she threw it away, while looking at the stars, trying to realize where the poem came from. Written by whom, or for what? Maybe it was a part of someones diary…?
Milady moved on, watching the wind carrying the piece of paper over a small river. Her phoenix, Tristan, was walking next to her, being very tired after two days and two nights of nonstop walking towards the Asuran lands. Milady looked at Tristan, feeling sorry for him, she made a stop, looking at Tristan and saying, „We’ll make a small stop and carry on during the day.“. Tristan settled down under the nearest tree and fell asleep almost instantly. Milady laid down on the grass, now, looking at the moon. The poem was circling around her head. She didn’t sleep at all during the whole night.
The sun was about to rise. Tristan woke up, seeing Milady still being awake. He went up to her and gently poked her with his beak. She startled and smiled at Tristan, „Don’t worry, I’ll be fine.“. She stood up, „I’ll be back in a bit, be ready to start moving.“. Tristan went back under his tree, and took a quick nap. In the meanwhile, Milady went down to the shore. She sat down staring at the sunrise. She saw an eagle flying in the reddish glow of the sunset. The eagle suddenly started flying towards the shore. The eagle landed on a rock at the shore. He looked around, and took off again, but Milady noticed something hanging around the poor birds leg. She started following the eagle. Not far from where he took off, he took another break. Thats when Milady used the chance to grab the bird. She removed the item off the eagles leg and let him go. It was a small piece of paper.

„..ey killed my whole family, including my mother who I loved the most. She was sent right into the depths of the Underworld. I miss her…
A week has passed since the attack of the Charr. We are heading over to Kryta, to safe. Our guards got attacked by Frost Wurms 2 days ago, 4 of them died and the others led us, the villagers, to safety.
We should arrive to Kryta in 3 days.“

And the note ended. She folded the piece of paper together and put it in her pocket.
She arrived back at the campsite, she looked at Tristan, „Shall we continue walking?“
Tristan nodded, and they started going towards the Asuran lands once again.
They walked for 3 days and reached the border of the Asuran lands. They entered the lands and decided to search for the nearest village, for a quick rest and food. But Milady felt strange right after they crossed the border. She felt something threatening about the woods they were about to enter. They entered the forest, seeing it completely empty of any animals, or any beings at all. They made it to the middle of the forest, when she suddenly drew her bow, turned around and shot an arrow towards the road they were following. They heard a scream. They started rushing, following the path, and saw an Asuran villager, who was hit by the arrow. He was dead. He was setting up a trap to catch Milady and Tristan. Milady looked at Tristan and said, „We should get out of this forest, it’s not safe.“ and they rushed through the woods at the speed of wind, when they managed to get out of the forest, they found theirselves standing in the middle of a field. Tristan flew up swiftly to see what is happening in the surrounding areas. He didn’t see anything. He flew back down and heard Milady mumbling, „We must reach the Northern Shiverpeaks…We are not welcome here…“

Chapter 2: The Northern Shiverpeaks.

Walking towards the Northern Shiverpeaks, keeping track of where they are, and what lies behind. Defeating the asurans was a victory, but she still felt bad about the whole area the Asurans were controlling. It didn't feel the same as it did 4 years ago, when she lived in the Asuran lands with her parents. After they got killed by an unfortunate accident, she left the lands and never came back, until now. She felt different, even the air had a different smell than it did 4 years ago. She felt, that something has taken over the Asuran lands. Something unnatural.
They kept moving towards the Northen Shiverpeaks, for it was the closest part they could get rest and figure out what is going on with the Asuran lands. She felt she needed some time. She kept looking at her phoenix, for he was the only one she had at that hard time she was going through, mentally.
The last few trees before the Northern Shiverpeaks were ahead. The felt a clear way past the trees and off to the Shiverpeaks.
Finally, they were there. After entering the Shiverpeaks territories, her feeling about the Asuran lands disappeared. She looked back at the trees, and kept a last memory before moving on to the Shiverpeaks. But something went wrong. Suddenly they were surrounded by a 'pac of bears. She slowly drew her bow, but one of the bears volved into a human-like being. It was the Norn people. Known for not being really friendly and mostly keeping to theirselves and mostly focusing on hunting. The being looked at her, and asked
"What is Your business in the Norn land?"
"We seek humen. We are looking for answers."
"Answers? No question has a true answer that can satisfy the person who asks the question. There is always more to it than that."
"You are correct, but I'm seeking for revenge."
"Revenge You say?"
"Yes... I don't really want to talk about it."
"Very well then. If you are seeking for humen, there is a tower, we, Norn, Have always kept away from. Keep on the path, and You will find it. There are humen there. Good luck with your trip."
And they disappeared as quickly as they appeared.
They continued the path to east and stumbled upon a few unwanted guests they managed to get past. They reach the tower, called the Eye of the North. Flashing lights blinded them and a voice in the dust said,
"I'm Gwen, What do You seek from here?

Chapter 3: The Eye of the North

"We seek a place to rest and to contact humen, but most of all we seek an audiance with the Gods", and she stepped forward.
"You have come to the right place. This is the Ebon Vanguard's headquarters, the Eye of the North, as we call this place. You are most welcome to stay."
They stepped into the town seeing people of the town being busy with work. They didn't bother to explore the town and they stepped into Gwen's house. They rested and had a meal, and talked about what they had encountered on the way to the Eye.
"The behaviour of the Asurans were weird... We have always gotten along just fine..." said Gwen.
"I know, that's why I was surprised. Humen never had any problems with them. But all I know for now, is that they wanted us dead. Enough about me though... On the way to the Asuran lands, I found this..." and she handed a piece of paper to Gwen.
"It seems like it is a small part of someones diary. What do You make of it?"
Gwen read the paper and stared at Milady.
"This paper...It is very similiar...". She stood up and went to look through the door's window, looking at the market of the town.
"I wrote this... back when I was still a little girl. It was written during the searing. It was on the day when my mother got killed... You know, I still miss her...I see nightmares of her being tortured and my family being slaughtered by the Charr..." and she bursted into tears. Milady helped her sit down and calmer her down.
"Do not worry...We will pay them back, more harder than ever before..."
Gwen smiled and looked at Milady.
"It's very nice of you to say that..."
Milady smiled and looked out of the window. She saw the lands of the Eye being infiltrated by someone. It was a large group of Charr.
"Gwen, stay here. Tristan, follow me!" she rushed out of the door, picking her bow up on the way out. Running past the city, she noticed the alarm guard taking a nap. She shot an arrow right beside the head of the guard, waking him up.
"Sound the alarm, we are being under attack!".
She rushed out of the main gate of the city, calling upon the God of Nature, Melandru.
"God of Nature, I call You, for help I am in need. Increase the speed of wind, for offense and for defense."
She had no idea what lied in front of her. Thousands and thousands of Charr, staring at her. The Legion has been released. Only to destroy the Eye? No... to take over the whole Northern Shiverpeaks and beyond.
Milady startled and started backing off step by step. The battle cry was heard. The Charr went berserk and ran towards her. She turned around and started running back towards the Eye's gate. Her bow started to glow blue. Finally, the first time during her life, she will finally know, what the bow of her father had kept within it. She jumped high in to the air, turned around, with the bow shining more than ever before. She pulled the string of the bow, concentrating her whole power to the bow. She let the string go... Bolts of Thunder striking the ground in front of the charr. Random clashes of lightning in the middle of the army. For the Charr's bad, their commander got killed in one of the clashes. They didn't know what to do, they panicked. The bolts of thunder divided the earth between the Charr and the Eye. Milady landed, breathing deeply and started running back to the city. Few moments later, she arrived at the Eye.
"Close the main gate! Archers on the walls, constant guard on the watchtower!"
Gwen ran out of her house, wielding her battle scepter.
"What is going on, I heard the gate being closed."
"We are going to be attacked by the Charr. I managed to slow them down a bit, but they will find a way around it."
The commander of the Vanguard approached them.
"We will try to counter them, but we are outmatched with our forces being spread around the Charr lands and the whole continent of Tyria. It would take days to call them all back together.
"We have to counter them...We have no choice..." and Milady turned around, heading towards Gwen's house...
"What if we really won't be able to counter them...Will this be the end of mankind...?". Those were the words that kept spinning around her head for the rest of the day...

I very much liked this, it gave a simple yet interesting storyline. Keep it up I'll be waiting for the next.
