Hope you think it's okay that I chose a bit of a comical theme to it, and your monk may be more obvious in the picture than your mesmer is. Their interaction is the whole point though. Also, they are dressed down somewhat, but there's a reason for it.
In a day or two, hopefully, I'll be done :3
EDIT: finished colouring monk and ritualist today.
here's a small peek at the work in progress :3
mwaha <3
have a guess who/what it is 8-)
note that the final outcome may look quite different :P

from what i see now it looks lovely TZU
and 2 important things now:
i will extend the deadline untill 31th of may (1 day longer)
The deadline can be extended with a max of 1 week if requested by atleast 1 person, he must also provide a motivation for this request.
and also i noticed a lack of interest in this commission this time(the reason might be sjengs commission aswell) and due to that it might be possible that there will be a decrease in prizes depending on the amount of entries i will get(i hope this wont be needed).
If most of the entries live up to my expectationts it doesnt matter wich amount of entries have been made.

Do you prefer colored pictures? (My sketches tend to look better than my colored pictures...because I'm really not the best at line art and coloring with photoshop...)

Well, I didn't want to interfere in your contest, so I deliberately set my deadline 2 months after yours, so that artists that would want to participate in both would not have to choose between the two.
Furthermore, I started my contest after most of the contestants of your contest had already entered. So I don't think that my contest is the reason (I certainly don't hope so, and didn't intend to).
I hope your entries will be plentyfull

whee, now that it's kinda only a couple of days to the deadline I've suddenly decided that entering here might be a good idea... lulz. however, I'll see whether I can come up with something in time
edit:
spent an amazingly dull day at uni trying to print off a poster (took about 6 hours to get through the printer queue, damn you, uni printers!) which gave me lots of time to think about it. and actually do something. my entry shows what a lonely night and too much ale can do to a mesmer...
larger version:
hope you like it!
btw, in case you couldn't guess, the lady in pink is Lyssa

*Ponders*
No doubt you'll get a lot more on the final day but the work shown so far looks very smart.

D: extend...? that means I could make another entry/version ... hmm...
Anyway, this is my entry, for now. Please CLICK ON THE IMAGE FOR FULL SIZE.
I wanted to capture your mesmer and his allies in a scene in which all of their personalities could be expressed, and of course your mesmer's attraction to your monk would become apparent. I decided to draw them a little dressed down, having fun by the lake which enters Ascalon city, a warm midsummer night. I know it's not technically possible for them to have shared this moment, seeing as your ritualist only met your other characters post-searing. However, by making it appear to be night and adding some mysterious glows and feathers to the wind, I hope to make it somewhat unclear whether it's real or just a dream.
Your monk supposedly invites your mesmer to join her in the water, but your mesmer makes a slightly silly excuse not to with his pint of beer. Perhaps your mesmer is too shy, or perhaps he doesn't want his new clothes wet? Perhaps he will join her later.
Your ranger steals a glance at Kasumi's lower back, trying to do so non-chalant and casually. We couldn't know whether or not Kasumi notices; she appears to be calmly communicating with the spirits in the water.
I hope I captured your characters the way you wanted me to, and I hope you'll excuse me for dressing them down a bit.
When I first started out, it was going to be a daytime picture and it looked like this:
I found it a bit plain and boring though, so I experimented a bit and found out that the whole "midsummer nights" thing worked a lot better. It's also kind of special, seeing as none of us players ever experienced night-time Ascalon but our characters most probably did.

Your Kasumi alone is worth the price of admission. Really nice work.
