Skeletal Hound
Original Image is 3500x2500 pixels - obviously too big for here : p Therefore I hope that at a reduced size, it can be appreciated on this forum.
----------------------------------------
This is my version of the GuildWars Skeletal Hound that you encounter in game. He usually accompanies the Skeletons that you fight sometimes in the dungeons in Eye Of The North.
Colours and inspiration of the creature were obtained from the render at http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Main_Page
I drew the animal first, scanned it in at 300DPI, then digitally coloured it roughly using my mouse (I'm poor and have no graphics tablet, hehe.) Then for finishing touches, I applied textures to the skin, bones and flesh around the neck. I could have left it as it was, because it looked good at that stage, but to continue with the art theme, I applied a few filters.
On this reduced size (above), unfortunately you can't see the reflections and shine on his flesh, and the details all over the skin, but hopefully that loss isn't too bad.
A close up is displayed below:
Anyway, I hope people like it. If I get interest, I might start a commission thread here drawing characters for people and digitally inking them, as I have some spare time at the moment. It seems these commission threads are popular so what the heck!
See ya on the battle field, mostly in Alliance Battles!

That's pretty good work there! Although I'd have left the head fleshless, because I like the bony look it has. I like the muscle tissue though.
I'd try not using too many texture filters on your drawings like the one I see in the close-up. That's nice and all for wallpapers, but not if you plan on doing commissions imho.
I'll be keeping an eye on that commission thread ^^
edit: hey, why not join my commission contest? Good practice

The reason for his head being slightly fleshy is from the render screen shot on the GuildWiki website. I used that as a guide to how the creature is made in the game.

Yes, that would be posterization. I applied that to keep the art theme going, although the original image has a more fleshy feel to it...as can be seen below:
