Here's a bit of poetry I'll include... I have more but I don't want to overdo it with one post.
Reflections in the Water
Discovery, a magical star bright,
Joy, living a homespun life so happy,
No plan today, and her soul takes off in flight.
Self content is my lovely Natalie.
Putting colored shells into her pockets,
Magnificent colors her eyes unfold,
each one a treasure, taken to locket,
looking for treasure, in the deep untold.
Suddenly awake now, the daydreams gone,
lost within her young daughter's reflection,
and in memories of which she was fond.
Adorable, her hand-picked selection.
Eyes closed, lost in soft tidal melodies,
dreaming away day's time, in memories.
The Black Rose
Darkness holds your hand,
Winter's come,
void of expression,
last bloom shivers,
Your kiss, poison to it's passion,
No life for Beauty...
Winter was a Beast...
Clockwork Wings of Time
Repetitive and simplistic,
We grow used to a daily routine,
Used-to-be pleasures now are dull,
Abreast time we race,
Trying to outrun his vortex pull.
Flying in circles it seems,
On the wings of daily life,
New scenery pops up here and there,
Escape from time? Only a dream.
Living in constant revolution, and then ended with a scythe,
Will we ever see a 'different' day?
People rely on these clockwork wings,
To carry them through safely, not letting them go astray,
They feel safe through familiarity, repetition,
Not following pure intuition.
So off I jump, falling through time,
A gamble yes,
But at least my originality is at hand.
Forgive Me?
Crying out from my heart, striking the air with pure force,
vibrant colors in deep shades of repent,
remorse for wrongdoings, now lost in the valleys of depression,
I pray that the stars help me back home...
To be comforted once again by blanket-soft eyes,
and the soul I so tragically drowned in my ego.
I droned out your words, and buried them in the ground,
I took not the advice I came for,
I remain a mirror with no reflection,
only an image of lies, deceit, and hate stare back,
into these cold eyes, you dare to stare, where only darkness exists.
Please forgive me.
Take me back once more to mountain springs,
let me walk in depths of your mind once more,
let me taste the cool water from the waterfall from the soul on weary lips,
I see you're tired of wading in this shallow pool..
So, once more,
let me refresh our mind, body and spirit,
and let us walk on the clouds into the blue.
Forgive me...
Take me once more into the blue skies, where we once flew,
no worries, our wings took us past the odds,
but as of late we'd fallen down to earth, stumbling on the roots of our problems,
we couldn't rip them out,
but we can free ourselves, let's restart,
forgive me.
Take me back to the point where we found love,
a trust in our passion, where we lived eternally...
Forgive me?
A Myriad of Hearts
Countless in number,
but none fit me to my comfort...
I'm out of the crowd, away from the rest,
their hearts are meaningless, pointless to address...
For their ways and their likings are so different, I find,
I can't find that one love, which will ever ease my mind...
I'm lost in this darkness, on the curb of a forgotten road,
I'm waiting here for her, a heart I wish to call my own.
Black and Red
Loving, romantic,
yet cold as ice outside,
you tremble with fear, as your eyes meet mine.
You can't stand to wonder,
how I can be this way,
I tell you to leave,
but you refuse and stay.
You ask me why I'm like this,
so dark on the outside,
you ask me why I'm like this,
so closed up and confined,
you ask me why I'm like this,
and I really do not know,
a red rose with black thorns,
and a heart that burns like the devil's horns.
I stand out in the crowd, noticeable at every angle,
a black and red portrait, serene yet confused and jumbled...
You think of your blood, deep dark and red,
well mine's black as night, spin that one through your head.
I don't know why I'm so different,
Why I have to be this way,
I want to be equal, but the light's too far away.
Succulent Poison
Intoxicating,
Breathless, starstruck,
In awe as I am in your grasp,
Caressing me, spellbinding moments,
Guiding me through the night, we share this kiss as a short goodbye,
I know I'll see you soon,
Sweet poison,
Take me in your arms, give me life within death.
Hiding
Transparent my disguise,
Stripped, and feeling naked,
I stand here, raw emotion exposed...
You lure me out with promise of forgiveness,
Yet you tear me apart, humiliate me...
How can you be so cruel,
To strip me of my dignity...
To rob me of my passion...
You took apart my soul, scattered pieces here and there,
I once loved you...but now my heart is n'ere,
n'ere to be seen again...
Masks of Emotion
You cover up your sorrow,
What mask next, will you wear tomorrow?
You cover up your hate,
What mask next, what's your fate?
You cover up your face,
Masks you wear to hide disgrace...
What mask can your true heart wear,
I tell you truth, I don't think it's a burden you should bear...
Why hide yourself from the world,
There's so much here, just open your eyes, see it unfurled!
Masks of emotion, they seem to fit so well,
But look deep within yourself, they only make your life a hell...
Crushed
Crushed petals resemble the heart that you bear,
Forsaken, forgotten, at my mind these thorns tear,
Abandoned, abandum, hearts that once were,
Now are black roses, a gift of me to her.
Can she see my pain? Can she see my sorrow?
Can she my dying love?—Or will she just brush the guilt till morrow.
=) I hope you enjoyed my sentiments, and even the unhappy ones...

The One Who Understands
He sees more than the Eagle
Hears more than the Bat
More attentive than the Viper
More control than the Master
More powerful than the Dragon
The power that can be unleashed from within
Cannot be comprehended
Not measurable by force
Cannot even measured by will
Only by spirit
Which cannot die
Cannot be broken
Can only rise
Higher than the Phoenix
Shielding all others
Burdened with everything
To protect those that cannot understand

I will not full out accuse you of plagiarizing the first stanza from the song by Disturbed titled "The Game". Instead, I will ask that you instead please credit them for that, and if you refuse to do so, I will full out accuse you.

Letting Go of You
Letting Go of You-
Six stanzas, ABCB format; written 12/20/06. Started at 10:17 AM and finished at 12:16 PM between mah classes in school.
Close your eyes,
Let the memories play,
Before your mind,
Hold on; don't fade away,
Feel it beneath,
Your tight grasp,
Holding on to,
Memories of the past,
Fingertips to the glass,
Reminding you you're trapped,
It all feels so cold now.
You're losing all that has passed,
It's so hard to hold on,
Something that isn't real,
As slowly they disappear,
You're left with fake ethereal,
I can see you're letting go,
Why don't you fight for me?
Instead of letting go,
I want to see you breathe,
Please, open your eyes,
Watch me as I cry,
Feel my terror and pain,
Of watching you die...
"Some people need not grieve for the dead, but smile that they've found peace within their inner turmoil."

My mind
my mind has a mind of it's own
where it ends up, noone has ever known
nobody knows what it will do
even I can not know, sometimes, I throw my shoe
sometimes it sucks to read what I write
but still, I must vent those feelings of spite
for bad or for good who cares about what should
be in your mind, possesing, you could
end up alone, nobody will know
only whatever you choose to show
The world
I hope I'll be able to make you smile
give you a hug
and keep you there for a while
I hope I'm not a bug
cause I don't mean to be
I'm an honest man
I hope you'll see
I do the best I can
I hope I'll be able to make you smile
light up your face
and keep it there for a while
I mean you no disgrace
I just don't want you to be sad
you deserve a good feeling
and not something bad
I want to start your healing
I hope I'll be able to make you smile
make you feel wanted
and keep it like that for a while
you might think I'm haunted
but I assure you I am not
I hope I'm not misunderstood
this is not a plot
someday you'll see that the world still has some good

Lie
If you tell a lie
You may only make me cry
Not in hell nor in sky
If from the pain you feed
And now you only seem to have greed
You seem a fly
Don't ask me why
In hell lies shall be
Know what i see
Never good
Instead the truth
Always should
Wasted years
Wasted years
Lost in tears
Tormenting fears
The dark
The ark
Humanity
Never a reality
These years
Winds crying fears
Stupid me
Stupid be
Darkness in mind
The heart strange shine
What sparkle is this
Am i blind
But not in the iris
dunno if these r good i just write em for fun

Poetry is not merely about rhym and rhythm, and while you've captured an essense of what you mean in your many of your poems, I simply can't find the true emotion in most of them.
Perhaps that's why I have to agree with 'Sir's 'emo' assessment. To me, the whole 'emo' fad represents a false pretense for unreasonable depression. When I read your writing, I find a metaphorical truth to the words, but there is no passion I can detect aside from your apparent (and applaudable) love of telling stories.
When I can feel the emotion, your poems will turn from admirable to moving. Until then, I suggest you continue to push yourself - you can be even better.
<Edit>: And if you have an objection to my large, complicated words, then your vocabulary could use work as well. Don't shoot others down for something you haven't yet achieved.
|
Thought I forgot about you, didn't you?
Here's to you, because this one actually sprung from emotion.
Hey Dad-
I thought about you the other day, for the first time in a while. Someone said somethin' 'bout how hers finally got something that fit her style. And then I got to thinkin', what's my dad done for me? I thought and tried, I really did, but my mind just came up empty. The last memory I have of you, wasn't even really of you. I was barely seven years of age, in the airport at Orlando. I think I hugged you one last time, and said 'I love you, Daddy.' But then you turned around and left, 'fore my flight even taxied. It's sad to think a girl of seven would hate being with her dad, but three summers in a row in Florida? Enough was what I'd had. You said 'I hate to let you go, but I love you, so you can.' You pulled some dumbass trick like that and call yourself a man? But as long as we're speakin' truth here, I'll just tell it like it is: Letting my mom take me off your hands was the best thing you ever did.
You never went to college, hell, you worked at Disney World. By now you couldn't even tell if my hair was cut or dyed or curled. You never really gave a damn, I was an accident, but if you really need one, you can have my axe to dent. It's the one you left lodged in my back when I was a little girl. The one that you left chipped and rusted in the heart of "your little girl".
But you know what, Dad? I'm grown up now, and I won't take your shit. You shoved it in my head for years, and I'm RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOing sick of it. I can think fine by myself, I don't need your lies. I'm fifteen, Dad! I've opened up my eyes. You probly said "Oh, well, she's young and she'll get over it.", but the verbal shit sticks in your head. There ain't no cure for it. And even when you've had a spell where nothing comes to mind, just relax and give it time: you'll find something of its kind.
The axe, the words, and Disney World? I used to love that place. Now I can't watch their TV ad without thinking of your face. It's not because those memories are full of happy joy, but because I start to think 'It's all just been a ploy.' My whole, lovely childhood, spent going back and forth. Finally, I'm over it, I've doused my final torch. And if I had to say one thing about it, it would be 'RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GO you, Dad!' I never really needed you. How can I need what I've never had?
The question here ain't what I've come to love or hate, really, it's a simple thing: can you mess with fate? I guess, though, that you probly can't 'cause what's been planned's been planned. I suppose that I should thank you, for that stupid crap you pulled, because, without it, hey, who knows, maybe I never would have met the folks who saved my life, and kept me straight on track, and what they've done is five hundred times what you have.
This started out my being mad, to let you know the truth, but now it's like I've gotten down, back to my roots. The parts that haven't died away, the parts that still hold strong, the parts that've proven that they're true, and will be stayin' long. I guess that that bit isn't you, and that you're gone for good, but what more could I ask for? I wouldn't name it if I could. 'Cause like I've said, I'm moving on. All this is said and done, because the things that used to be, are still just as fun-
-WITHOUT YOU,
I'M FAR MUCH BETTER OFF.
Heh. It does rhyme, some of them are in the middle of sentences. It wasn't originally in paragraph format.
Because I <3 you, Ristaron.

Random lyrics
Hey ppl, i wanna post some lyrics from some bands i really love. I won't post the band name, nor the title, nor the entire lyrics.
1)The past scares me more than future.....
With open arms I’m standing out against my past
2)When you know what you are doing will bring you to death....
The omen showed, took me away
Preparations are done, this can't last
The mere reflection brought disgust
No ordeal to conquer, this firm slit
It sheds upon the floor, dripping into a pool
Grant me sleep, take me under
Like the wings of a dove, folding around
I fade into this tender care
3)Schizoprhenic....
So afraid of rejection
Hide inside ourselves
Acting like strangers to avoid the pain
We collect our phobias
Our sicknesses
Feel so good only when we can complain
In your arms
Feels like a better us
In your arms
Dancing around the fire
Getting drunk with the night
Nobody is ever who they seem to be
Hypnos give us your hand
We so tire of this life
Need to rest and finally disappear
In your arms
Feels like a better us
In your arms
Hope you enjoied some of them

The moonlight...it keeps me awake at night
Silver strands of light
It breaks through the openings of my curtains
To paint the walls with mixed emotions
A beautiful picture, depicting shades of grey
A reflective picture on the life that I lead today
For once - things seem right
I'm at peace...in the dead of night
Unable to fall asleep...yet unable to stay awake
I fall into a trance...walking the pathways of fate
Of all these roads which one should I take?

What a grand question to ponder. I tend to fly overhead looking down getting a glimpse as to see what each (Path) contains. This may be a little "Chicken Little," but it can be also mind opening. At times we are blinded and over look paths that are hidden. I enjoy your thoughts, thank you for sharing.
Great work everyone, styles maybe different but feeling is obviously abundant and joyous.

Staind - Epiphany
Your words to me just a whisper…
Your faces so unclear…
I try to pay attention…
Your words just disappear…
Huh huh…
‘Cause it’s always rainin’ in my head…
Huh huh…
Forget all the things I should have said…
So I speak to you in riddles…
‘Cause my words get in my way…
I smoke the whole thing to my head…
And feel it wash away…
‘Cause I can’t take anymore of this…
I wanna come apart…
Or dig myself a little hole…
Inside your precious heart…
Huh huh…
‘Cause it’s always rainin’ in my head…
Huh huh…
Forget all the things I should have said…
I am nothing more than…
A little boy inside…
That cries out for attention…
Yet I always try to hide…
‘Cause I talk to you like children…
Though I don’t know how I feel…
But I know I’ll do the right thing…
If the right thing is revealed…
‘Cause it’s always rainin’ in my head…
Forget all the things I should have said…

Because IMO poetry is expression from inspiration. In all honesty I don't know one person who writes poetry just for the sake of writing poetry. Poetry comes from inspiration of some sorts and is expressed through that inspiration. So why not have a song that inspires me.
And Sleeper Service your posts are so random haha.
