Default The Black Friday Rule

I recently started writing a history about my characters in Guild Wars. I have written quite a lot of pages already and I'd like to share it on a more popular forum, like Guru. Currently I'm only posting it on my guild forum, which is not a well visited place. But I have one good thing there and that's the fact that I'm allowed to make multiple threads for my story to post the different chapters in, plus a general thread about my story for comments and to announce updates.

Now, what I'm asking is: how should I post my story here on Guru? If I'm allowed to, I could make already two threads for the first two chapters and fill them with text. If I'm not allowed and just have to stick with one thread, that's fine by me either. The plus point of multiple threads is that I can keep things organised and easier to read. The plus point of single thread is that I can post the story in different parts and wait between each two posts to give people time to read it.

While I'm typing this another thought came up. Posting two chapters at once, thus creating a massive wall of texts might keep people away from reading it. I could combine both ideas though: a new thread for each chapter, but posting those chapters in different part to give people the time to read them and maybe make them look forward to each next installment (if the story is good enough ^^).

I think seperate threads would be fine, add links to each other segment in each thread.
I doubt mods would have much of a problem with 2 seperate threads, and if they did, they would just merge them for you.

I would suggest doing what a good publisher does and edit significantly so you give us something concise enough to want to read. If it were me, I'd do one chapter at a time, and give a little time between posting new chapters so people can look forward to the next chapter. Good luck with it!

could u just post links to the already posted chapters in ur forums, or does ur forums require membership to be able to view them? this way u can stay to a single thread on guru and do whatever u want on ur own forums ;-) and as long as ur threads are clearly labeled to be different things, i would think that it would be perfectly fine to do a new thread for every chapter. personal opinion though, haven't poured over the rules ;-)
