Sure, no problem. Just update the original post that'll be fine.
Ok, small update for Racthoh, although your warrior is actually invisible at the moment..
Working on the background, using a painterly approach this time, as it's meant to be in the style of the Theoden image, but in colour.
A lot of the midground will have mist and fires so I'm trying not to anally retent too much about the mountains as they'll get covered up towards the bottom. Obviously the ground etc is far, far from finished. But I wanted to get the sky right, because that will be seen in the finished paint.
I'm getting there...

Crap.. 11 days.... and wtf happened to the smileys?
Ok, I'm here. Stressful week, 2 reformats, 2 sticks of memory, 1 hard drive and a major amount of hair-pulling later...
Today has been the first day I've really had more than half an hour spare, and I was still installing some apps this morning so because Photoshop is such a hungry bugger I did a little work on Yakuza's image (more on that below) before settling in on Racthoh's warrior when I had enough processing power free.
I'm getting there. I have a client-free day this Wednesday (woo-hoo!) so I'm going to do my level best to chew through the remaining bits then, if not before. I still have the lower left arm and sword arm, and left leg / helm to do, along with the battlefield.
Here's a reduced full image and a close up on the face (which is also not completely finished. I have a tendency to flit about a bit when I work). I'm trying to keep that slight sketchy feel as per the Théoden portrait, while keeping the colours and dark areas strong. And also that slight grain to the image as a final overlay.
Yakusa, I started painting your warrior while I was installing apps this morning, as Sketchbook Pro is a lot more forgiving on available memory. I haven't gone very far but I've got a base sky colour in and have worked on the faces. Your warrior is not quite finished in the face dept, I continually tweak as I go along, but I'm pretty settled on your victim.. will prob do some final lighting tweaks (the headpiece I just remembered is not finished) etc so she may change a little in the final image.
Wide shot and close-ups below. Actually, seeing as one person in that shot is just a decapitated head I guess I should link it rather than post it!

I should be posting again Weds evening (UK time).
Any problems with any of the progress so far please do yell. I'm not precious.

Heh, no I'd never do that to Devona.
It's Yakusa's friend, she's Tyrian but has a similar hairstyle to Devona.

Thanks Tender Wolf, kind of you to say so
In other news. W00t:
Primusq, you've been bumped up to active.
Yakusa, work will start in earnest now. Fingers crossed and pesky clients aside I think I can crack this one by Monday. I have a warm fuzzy feeling about it as i'm doing it in Sketchbook Pro
[edit] As distilledwill's is an avatar I'm gonna bump that up to active as well.

Lol.. Racthoh's files are enormous. I'm going to upload them to my box account in small chunks. I couldn't get the psd to go under 90 meg before being zipped.
Fun fun.

Thanks, ikarop.
Ok, update for Yakusa. I'm making good time on it so I'm posting a small snapshot. Characters have had hair colour adjustments, a little tidying up on the victims.. erm spatter.
I've moved the turtle back quite a bit as the background is quite panoramic, so he'd be way too big as shown in the original sketch, and it pops the warrior out more if she's dominating the top of that petrified wave.
I've got some client work to do tomorrow, but if it's humanely possible I'll get the battlefield populated and everything finished.

Four down.. erm.. quite a few to go...
Hookay, will be posting linework for Primusq and distilledwill in the next day or so. The next few have no backgrounds, so hopefully as long as I don't get pestered too hard by real life / clients I should be cutting through these a bit quicker.
Thanks for your patience guys.

Heh, yeh I got a bit of a turn when I came back from my honeymoon and saw more names to be added...
Ok, managed to quickly sketch these up tonight but this'll probably be it till Sunday, as I won't have much time to continue with them till Friday night.
Linework for Primusq and distilled will.
I used photo reference for the tiger rather than ingame models, but he'll be the same clean style as she is. With those lovely blue eyes, of course <3
distilledwill, I'll paint your ranger's face in it's entirety and let you have one with and one without his mask if that's ok? No big deal, I'll just leave the mask on a separate layer.
He looks a bit Zorro-ish at the mo'. That'll go away with the colour, the lines are making his 'tache too strong.
As ever, please do yell if there's anything you don't like / want changed.
Ta
Going to bed now, kerrrrrnackered.
