Wallpapers/Signature Banners
Hey! I've been using Photoshop for a fair few years, and now, I've decided to work with it for life. I've been making signature banners and wallpapers for awhile now, being unsatisfied with pre-made banners and mediocre desktops
I've got a DeviantArt page! (http://brought2youby.deviantart.com/). Feel free to watch me, or come say hi!
Here's just a taste of some of my wallpapers!
[NOTE: SOME WALLPAPERS MAY LOOK DIFFERENT ON OTHER MONITORS, AS MONITORS TEND TO HAVE DIFFERENT COLOR SETTINGS. Obviously, each wallpaper looks just fine on my OWN monitor, considering it was made on my monitor. BUT on another person's monitor (with different settings) a wallpaper could look slightly different because the shade or tone isn't the same as the one on mine.]

Here's some signature banners!
Haha, don't just hate the subject of the picture! Admire the technique! (Sure, I've made a few Twilight wallpapers, but hey, an artist's gotta get notice! Haha, my Kristen Stewart Wallpaper is one of the most popular on dA. It pays to submit art about a popular subject sometimes )
Hey, what about you guys? Do any of you do photoshop work other than sketches as well? I'd love to see them, feel free to share!
Also, got any questions? I'll try my best to answer them.

Nice signatures you got there!
I used to more photo-manipulation type stuff, but I haven't done anything like that in a while. Now my DA is mainly filled with dog photography, lol.

Some of those signatures are way too busy. Especially the master chief one, the effects are meant to accentuate the image - not draw attention away from it.

Not bad sigs, though I'm going to have to agree that a lot of them are far too busy - if they need to be studied to figure out what's going on in them and what is in them, there's too much going on.
Also, sig-making really isn't photomanipulating, and stuff like that is not allowed to be posted on deviantart, just so you know...

I get your point, and I'm definitely still learning ^ ^; all these banners were made by experimenting. So I've yet to put together a solid technique.
Heh, and I never said sig-making was photomanipulating.
Ahh, about deviantart, that just goes along with the other hundreds and thousands of signature banners that they have there too :P (They even have their own category.)

The category on dA is meant for signatures that are made entirely of original materials, not copyrighted ones. Saying "I don't own this" doesn't change the fact that it's copyright infringement :P

Psh. If tracing is "legal" on dA, I don't see how this isn't.

It's not that serious especially since he's neither making money off of it nor hurting the original artists with it.

Tracing isn't allowed on DA. But "copying" something without tracing should be. All part of a learning process. :P Anyway DA is DA. You have to actually have someone pissed off at you so that they report you with proof before stuff gets taken down. This is just for the sakes of DA being 'politically correct'.
Aside from that I don't see why care. It's for fun. :P
