lol, you should totally do a "GW Gothic", with a pair of monks instead of farmers, in black FoW + glowyhands of course, she wearing Dreadmask + Torm Shield, and him in a MoZing, with VS in place of pitchfork~!
er no, I'm not changing my commish request to *that*, and it's hardly your style .. but someone oughta do one~!
anyway, about pricing: fairest for you is according to time consumed.
Commissioners should be aware that time taken definitely does not always result in a better final image. It does generally imply more detailed work, but it may also mean that the artist has trashed five versions already cos s/he's struggling with the concept ..
I can think of numerous examples of speeds that rival magnum opuses from the same artist~! such is the nature of inspiration ~
one thing that is sure tho: the higher the price, the higher the expectations ..
If you could somehow attract the attention of those frequenting Ventari Hi-End, you could easily swap "ecto" for "plat" in your pricing; after all, a piece of quality art is way more spesh than a rare mini ..
Unfortunately art tends to be highly-dedicated so can't be powertraded~!

@Ala,
all truths.
Mk. I decided what I'll do with my prices.
I'm going to change my commissions to tips-only. Yes, this means you can pay however much you think the painting is worth to you.
But on the other hand, I'll actually start prioritizing higher priced commissions. I've been denying a lot of special requests because I wanted to be fair, but I think this way would be best.
What this will mean:
-I get to pick and choose commissions a bit more, so the ends of the line can get a chance.
-I'll perhaps be better compensated. (Call me greedy if you will, but :P)
-Those big guilds can get their stuff done without too much delay (I'll still finish the ones I've been working on tho)
What this wont mean:
-No I'm not bumping you off again, Ms Spoon. You are still next no matter what D:
-I wont be clogged up with big commissions. Even if I am prioritizing big commissions, I'll still do at least one or two normal ones in between.
-I wont be just scrapping the waitlist, but I wont be following it as strictly anymore
This way I can still paint what I want, and people with no $ can still get their characters done, and those high bidders can get theirs done faster as well. Sounds fair (to anyone except the people that were next right after spoon)? :P

i think that's fair blue. that way people who love your art but are short on cash can offer what they have and still get commissions done, even if it's a bit of a wait.

Would love to offer more than the previous price of Speed paint desktop (which was 60k) but I really gotta stop spending money on commissions and save up for next year's MantleCon. :x Annoying, really. Just to be fair, I won't ask for a CG and offer you a Speed Paint price :P

Yes, I am willing to pay 30k+ for a piece of BlueXIV art. I think 45k would be my max though, it really depends on how you do the piece. After that I'd have to farm for future commissions =P

Update on Hail Fall, got most of the B/W done. Will post it when I am happy with it and get a general color wash done

Haha, high expectations indeed. Although I think commissioners need not worry, as even your sketches look great. I do admire you for soldiering on, I took the cowardly route and ran off when commissions burdened me down on an unrelated-to-guild wars site.
I guess it all comes down to self-control from the artist's side, as I accepted six commissions from one person, who told a friend that asked for ten. Not a smart move, being over confident. ;( Politely declining, or compromising with the commissioner is probably the better choice to relieve the stress.
Rambling aside, I'm happy to commission you when I have money enough to not put a noticeable dent in my Xunlai account. I personally think you had fair pricing though, for the quality of your artwork. Great work so far on the requests, and I wish you well & not to get too burdened with wallpaper commissions. Picking and choosing's a lot more fun, anyway.

I think I'm ok with the change of model as long as my comission gets eventually done some day. I'd just like it before GW3 goes out xD

can i request a website quality speed paint of my monk?
i dont expect it for awhile, but your art is well worth the wait and hopefully, because it's speed paint and not wallpaper sized, it isn't asking too much of you.
if you'll do it, i'll add pictures when i get my comp back (it's currently being a broken pos and i can't get on gw for screen shots since this comp would probably explode if i tried running it, i'll post multiple sets of armor and weapons so you can pick what you want to do). not sure what i'll pay, but it'll be more than the 30k listed on the OP since you're doing the whole tip thing now.
let me know,
rah.

@Narcissia, Sure thing. And if it's a factions monk, I'll probably do it really soon too D: (I dunno why, but I love faction monks)
Update on Hail Fall's Commish:
I kinda haven't drawn in the armor yet, so it's currently mildly NSFW.

You should thank Tzu, she convinced me not to just put shala on a space ship and call it done. D:

Hmm... I think I would like to commision you on a group potrait of a couple of my characters. I'll post the ones I would like you use later since at the moment I'm at work. I think I'll tip ya 100k, which would take me like 2 days to farm.

xD lol'd at the (not) Samus-ship!
I like the pose and layout of the picture, as usual.
Do you always draw people naked/without armour before adding clothes?
also edited my post (page 7) with a new bid price.

@Araiia, not always, just occasionally. Hail's necro is just giving me a haaaaaaaard time. I think I'll end up extending the feet later, got too lazy in the comp sketch :\
@king, go for it

Are you going to keep the string looking things? They look really neat. I like how you really brought out the puppet minion master in her. Who says you can't be evil and sexy at the same time? =P

no sorry she's not factions :P
i try to have as few factions/nf chars as possible lol. i like my chars to look kind of bitchy, and factions/nf faces always look too nice and pretty to me. iuno. not pale enough as well and don't like many of the hairstyles.
like the stiff long ponytail thingers or buns...
don't even get me started on the bun hairstyles....they make me want to smash things.
my monk has cornrows...not much better...she's kinda funny looking...but at least it's not buns! ahhh! death to the cutesy monks!
i'll post a headshot for now just so you can see her. better shots later (i'll probably harass a friend to take some for me and post them tomorrow since i don't know how long my comp will be screwed)

okie dokie. so i need a new computer -_-. but i got a friend to take screen shots for me. so here you go:
Armor: http://i195.photobucket.com/albums/z...athysarmor.jpg
can choose whatever you feel like drawing. i think luxon is my favorite. and if you choose one of the armors with tattoos, they're dyed white because i tried to hide the tattoos sooo you can skip over drawing them.
Weapons1:http://i195.photobucket.com/albums/z...ysweapons2.jpg
Weapons2:http://i195.photobucket.com/albums/z...ysweapons1.jpg
can choose whatever weapons you feel like drawing as well. or not draw them at all, whatever lol.
oh, here's face closeups too
and it was website quality speed paint *nods*. probably pay double original price, soooo 60k if that's ok?
rah.
