Naw s'okay. As I said I'm not too interested in MOCA. Contemporary art except for David Hockney = not really my thing. My real time constraints come from also doing college apps and Avatar's art contest at the same time (the latter is of course my own fault for getting greedy and double-booking myself).
EDIT: Do you mind if the BG for my picture is an photopaint of one of my screens? I figure I haven't got a ton of time, and so this will either be a landscape with people or a portrait with background, and I'd rather it be the latter.

Yes I'm definitely ok with that. The most important thing in the drawing is the characters

Yea, probably not the best time to start a contest... (right at the beginning of school...) I'm glad I decided to push the deadline, I would have done it sooner had you asked
Don't stress too much over this, wouldn't want that

Just bumping again with a question: Who here is going to submit? I'd like to know which prize list will be used/perhaps extend the prizes.
Also deadline is now October 7 if you did not catch that.

hmm, I made something a couple of days ago, but I need to get my scanner working to submit it. I'll try to make it to the deadline, otherwise I'll send it to you whenever, it doesnt have to be a part of this contest/I dont need gold ^^

At some point (ie when I can tear myself away from my games and when I don't have a lot of homework) I will get back to work on the pic I started. It's in primitive lineart stage right now. Fortunately, Jenna is a tiny detail in this one so I basically only have to draw one set of armor (yay!). The monkey shouldn't be toooo tough; it's kinda smallish (it's a baby, I think). And there are no special effects to do this time... and I'm using a different brush. So yeah.
But it will be done by the 7th!

Oh I'm not sure if I'd feel right by taking it for free. If need be we can call it a commission and I'll pay what it is worth. Or even you can take a photograph of it if your scanner remains broken till deadline, and the photo can be judged, then later you can scan it for me.

Please, don't feel as if you shouldn't submit, remember even if you think it is ""terrible"" the judges may not. Also remember we will be judging more on the creativity of the piece rather than the quality.

Down to 5 days left!
I would like to let everyone who is participating know that due to the deadline shift one of the four judges is unable to judge as she has now left on vacation and contact is bad.
Three judges now.

Well with tomorrow (Tuesday) and Wednesday being the final days to submit I thought I should say the exact deadline now rather than just which day.
I will stop collecting submissions the first time I log in after 12:01am PST on Thursday.

Soooo, I procrastinated and when my Spanish teacher went psycho yesterday with the homework I totally didn't think I'd finish (won't have any time tomorrow), but I got lucky with no hw today and pulled through! Ta-da!
Sooo, yeah I was going to include Jenna hiding behind a tree and admiring him, Ranger-crazed woman that she is, but I decided that that really didn't fit the tone of the piece, so I axed that idea. Yeah the baby monkey looks wonky but it's the best I can do. Also, I think when I flattened it the lines got really dark and something weird happened with his right foot, I'm not sure what. And I seem to have lost the kind of tannish layer over the scales and under the bordered pieces! Oh, and I think the fruit is a peach. I just kind of made it up.
Still, a really fun assignment, and challenging. If you haven't noticed I draw mainly female humans/humanoids in a 3/4 view... so a piece with a man, an animal, and a profile view was quite tough for me! I like the end result, though.
