that looks amazing, Kiya. I thought perhaps, when you mentioned that the asura puppet was "the first part", that you would make a golem too, but I didn't dare to hope. That's incredibly ambitious of you, and pulled off with great skill.
You'll be seriously tough competition for us all! X3
lol, describes my feelings perfectly, copy-pasta from p1:
EDIT: REMEMBER TO POST PROGRESS PEOPLE! Otherwise you won't be qualified for the "best progress award"!

$10 for insulation sheet, $10 for craft foam rolls (I love those 40% and 50% off coupons), and $10 in assorted paints. Oh and whatever a dozen or so large glue gun sticks, some masking and duct tape, a pop bottle, and the acrylic sheet I bought years ago would be.
If I don't win for Halloween maybe I should change the tummy panel and lining and slap some garland and a Santa hat on that sucker!
If people are having problems getting their own out of the game, here's the stencil for the pumpkin carving I did last year.

Very impressed by all your work. And inspired to try to modestly be here with you, although I'm no artist (could have been!).
I'll be trying to put an entry into this year's contest for the first time (been wanting to since the first one) with ... an Asuran Halloween theme picture, in particular centred around a Golem. Could be part of Halloween in 250 years Tyria-time
My original idea is indeed a glimpse of Halloween in GW2, but it seemed overly ambitious to tackle the five races. And someone is already working on the sylvari.

Charlie, that is amazing work, I can't wait to see the finished product, it looks stunning already.
Kiya, methinks yours is my favorite for winner. I thought Zinn himself was cute, but now the homemade Golem? That's just too much! I notice you have it propped up on an office chair, are you going to make it an actual costume (I hope)?

Progress for today. In order to support the weight the legs are being done as a cap for a dining room chair, so I will have to photoshop out the lower bar and the back chair legs. The capping breaks into 5 sections : the lid that sits on the chair seat with the golem body on it (sheet of insulation with a band around the edges which is currently covered in masking tape and the brown band below that as well as the pink area), the actual legs which are cut in the back to allow it to slide onto the chair leg, and the feet at the bottom that have holes cut for the chair feet to sit in. Materials used: insulation foam board, cardboard, masking tape. Tomorrow I will begin cutting the craft foam to cover all these parts and make it smoother. Unless my crafting OCD kicks in again.....must....resist....
Unfortunately its not a costume. The golem was supposed to be a lawn ornament (if the drought continued). If it doesn't rain on Halloween we might set it out still. I figured out wire props so I can set out some black moa chicks when it comes picture time too.

Thy progress is going slow. I had to redo the Titan as a Burning Titan has 4 legs, not 2. What does the weak fools think of sculpting Zhiatan?
Beware contesters, Halloween shall win.

Posting more progress. The skirt and right leg are finished - all that's left is the left shin guard, arch, hammer and background effect. I was going to add a King Thorn jack-o-lantern, but I felt that it didn't really fit in too well with the overall picture. So instead, I incorporated his face into the architecture. I think it fits in pretty well and still suggests the Halloween theme.

Don't mind the tilted axis; the paper bent when I was taking a picture so the angles on the architecture are all ass backwards.

That is probably the most impressive piece I've ever seen on these forums, are you an artist by trade?

Updated the picture of my main char and her son a little bit - changed the costume around. I should have my Barbie finished later this week; I have all the materials and just ready to assemble her outfit! In the meantime, enjoy these.

The previous one was a candy corn.

Yep, I'm currently a sophomore majoring in studio arts. Been a bit busy so I haven't been doing a lot of art recently - this workshop is the first thing I've done in a good while. Feels nice to finally get back into the swing of things.
@Taurus Chika: are you going to dress the single doll up or are you planning to include the son as well?

Now that I've had time to look through all the progresses so far, I'm amazed at people's knowledge and artistic abilities!
I adore Zinn, the golem, Jora's armor as a costume, Charlie's drawing... WOW you guys! Absolutely fantastic! Gogogogo! ^_^

As for my own piece I haven't had much time for it tbh. With work and a commission (which is now done yays) I've been rather busy.
Im now having serious issues with the theme, im not sure i even like it lol.
Here's another prelim I did a few days back:

ooh, I like it! Pumpkin looks sad... D8
She seems to have lost a bit of power since the last sketch though, I'd like to see some muscle on her again. Both her legs, but especially her right is very slim. Will there be something going on in the background? That space could be filled with a lot of exiting things, just wondering whether you've thought about what yet.

Yeah, I completely agree. I might just scrap this idea tbh.
I seem to do that a lot haha. I'll work on something else maybe, need good ideas.
