I have tons of fiction written for all my characters, like literally...pages. in the interest of saving space and sparing you all from my less than bearable writing, I'll throw up a cheap synopsis of what happens to them after participating in the events sorrounding the Great Destroyer's demise.
Kliff Undersn, my warrior, continues his quest to be the greatest hunter in all of Tyria, constantly searching for bigger and stronger beasts to slay and mount on his "trophy wall". Joined by a pair of young Norn warriors, Kliff rampages across the Shiverpeaks for years, finally settling and living amongst the Norn, and allegedly fathering a litter of half Norn offspring.
Cyrus Skarheart, my necro, joins up with some of my other characters and adventures around for a few years on the pirate ship "Lyssa's Revenge". Cyrus eventualy returns to what's left of Ascalon, and is last heard from trying to reclaim his family's lands from the Charr.
Viktor Kamarazov, my mesmer, also joins the crew of the Lyssa's Revenge, untill meeting and marrying a member of the Kurzick House Brauer. Viktor lives amongst the Kurzicks for several years, eventualy losing his life when an attempted negotiation between the Luxons and Kurzicks degenerates into violence.
Jack McKennie, my ranger, captain of the Lyssa's Revenge and leader of an infamous band of pirate. Jack returns to the seas and plunders the coasts of Tyria until he dies at the ripe old age of 87, getting in to all ssorts of strange adventures. The McKennie family continues the tradition set by Jack and his siblings. To this day they own a small pirate fleet that is reportedly lead by the legendary Lyssa's Revenge.
Spearmarshal Laeris, my paragon, after witnessing the Ascension of Kormir, Learis becomes one of the new godessess's first disciples, taking a "vow of true sight" and symbolically blinding herself by wearing a ritual blindfold every minute for the rest of her life. During a visit to the Temple of Ages Laeris meets and eventually has several children with the notorious pirate Jack McKennie. Abandoning her role as preistess, Laeris joins the crew of the Lyssa's Revenge and lives out the rest of her days plundering the coasts of Tyria.
Saint Ajura and High Priest Sammael, my rit and derv, simply return to the desert from which they came, rather conveniently and easily wrapping up their story for the time being. A man claiming to be Sammael shows up at the Durmand Priory many decades later and begins assisting the monks in piecing together Tyria's fragmented history. 250 years after the fall of the Great Destroyer, a man claiming to be St. Ajura shows up at the priory and the pair mysteriously disappear several days later.
Alexander Baptiste, my monk, rather conveniently involves himself with whatever exploits his half sister Alesia Baptiste gets mixed up with in the fiction that ANet pumps out to bridge the games. The story is really going to depend on whether or not the hench Alesia is mentioned in the upcoming novels.I'll sort of have to build it around that once I actually read the books.
Rassius Faroda, my ele, joins the crew of Lyssa's Revenge for several years, chasing skirts and lecturing people on how much smarter he is than they are. He eventually settles in southern Kryta, where he takes up residence in an old abandoned estate near the coast, with a small flock of pretty young "acolytes" in tow. There he establishes a school for young witches, and lives out the rest of his days just as he always wanted, surrounded by young women. The estate still stands, though it has long since been transformed from a school to an inne, and reportedly serves as a base for the pirates of the McKennie family's fleet.
Zazie the Fox, my 'sin...well..I haven't quite got his figured out yet. I'll write it up as soon as I work up a history for the character.

Dethklok Skwisgaar - My Mesmer.
Eventually Dethklok battled his way across the world. Conquering many, many foes. Eventually, one day while defeating Urgoz for the billionth time, as he casted a spell he was mesmerized by the beauty of the spell. Dethklok accidentally mesmerized himself and sent himself into a drooling coma. For another 70 years his body has been nothing but an empty shell. With the help of longtime friend and mage, Cynn he had his body encased in ice so to wait for a possible cure.
The years fly by, and with Guild Wars 2 on the rise, he still waits.

Hm.. I'll only do a few of my characters. Others would spoil the ending of my comic (yes, I thought it all to the end!!)
(After the Great destroyers defeat)
Raldy the Bald secludes himself from human society, moving towards the Shiverpeaks. Hanging out with the Norn and the like. He becomes a true hermit till humanity will only remember him as "one of those old legends". Might be eventually forgotten.
Dansk Arcston's whereabouts are unknown. Those blasted Bounties from the last 7 years have taken a toll on his social life. His little sister is doing well though and is getting married soon.
Mirei Florite resigns from the Canthan army and starts studying the ruins in the Tarnished Coast. Lives a happy life of research with the Asura. She will later become famous for books like "My Pointy Eared Friend", "My Stone is Covered in Blood" and "Skinning Dinosaurs for Dummies".
Damn, I could only give info about 3 of my 9 characters XD

Kai Lycanthalas, my perma sin, finds that after the wars are over and peace is established in the realms, that he retires in the Jaga Moraine in a quaint cabin with a fire always in the hearth. He chose this area to retire because Kilroy always supplied him with free booze, and he loved to ski. However the constant annoyance of pesky Vaettir always causing him to run into trees during ski runs, he decideds to hire Budger Blackpowder to get rid of them once and for all, so he can ski unhindered, and accidentally blows himself up after drinking too much of Kilroys booze.

Just as a point of reference, the fall of Ascalon City happens 50 years after EOTN, and the awakening of the dragon of Orr - and Orr's return - happens 10 years after that. According to the GW2 wiki. Just something to keep in mind when planning your histories. I'll probably share mine when I get them thought out.

The only info we have on that stuff is from the Movement of the World and the Ecology of the Charr - neither of which have a date to either event. I.e., the wiki is once more not trustworthy.

Eragon Zarroc on his crazed quest for power and glory attempted destroy his opponents in PvP, spamming dragon slash and yelling "save yourselves" to no avail. After being beaten and destroyed one to many times, he cast himself out of normal society, keeping only the company of Olias, Master of Whispers, and Livia. A handful of henchmen claim to have quested alongside this fabled fallen hero, but he is so rarely seen that the stories are usually discarded as fanciful and wishful thinking. The last that was ever seen of him was in the Temple of Ages, ranting and raving about Balthazar and how his god had abandoned him. It is said that he disappeared into the Fissure of Woe, seeking to slay Balthazar in his maddening rage, wanting to claim the title of God of War for himself. Whether or not he succeded, no one knows.

It was explicitly stated by Anet that the dragon of Orr rose 60 years after EOTN, ending the relative peace the world lay in until then. And as Adelbern would already have been over 100 ten years before that happened, there's no reason to think Ascalon City's fall happened any later than that.

May I ask for proof for that?
The only thing that I've read that has any kind of date towards it is Palawa Joko's sucessful invasion of Elona 60 years after Kormir became a Goddess.

Source for the Orr incident date? I recall no such thing.
And I never said that Ascalon City's fall was going to be a long time after EotN - I simply said that there was no date said. It could happen 3 years after EotN, it could happen 10 years, or 50. With Adelbern being 61 during Post-Searing Prophecies/Factions, therefore being 67 during EotN - I would say it occured somewhere around 20-ish years after EotN, but no later than 40-ish.
But again, I have been keeping up to date with all info on GW since EotN's release, and I have yet to see a date for any event talked about in the Movement of the World. Excluding Ventari's death. I only know that the article states that "this will happen after EotN."
Edit: After re-reading the Movement of the World and Ecology of the Charr, I see a few "rough estimate" dates. More than I thought before at least. Along with some accurate dates.
Over 30 years passed in the fight between the Charr and Humans *this means from Pre-Searing (1070 AE) on to at least 1100 AE - so over 23 years after EotN did Adelbern use his sword*
Quote:
For more than thirty years, the Charr and the Ascalonians fought, back and forth, on the grounds surrounding the city.
|
40 years after EotN when Kalla Scorchrazor started the "true rebellion" and overthrew the Flame Legion - renaming it to the Golden Legion.
Hinting at the overthrow of Ascalon - and Adelbern's sword's magic taking place - to be around 23 year to 40 years after EotN.
Quote:
The true rebellion began some 40 years later when Pyre’s grandcub, Kalla Scorchrazor, overthrew the Flame Legion’s domination, restoring the legions to their rightful place as the driving force of Charr society and re-establishing their ancient systems.
|
Primordus awakens two generations after EotN - which would be 40-80 years *assuming 1 generation would be roughly 20-40 years* after EotN *With the Kalla being a fighter 40 years after Pyre, and being his grandcub (i.e., two generations) - it can be assumed that Primordus woke up 40 years after EotN*
Quote:
Although the death of the Great Destroyer, his most powerful general, set back the dragon's awakening by two generations, Primordus once again rose to create ever more minions far beneath the ground.
|
Order of Dragon awakening: Primordus -> "Orrian Dragon" -> "Deep Sea Dragon" -> "Grothmar" *most recent - Drakkar unmentioned in ordering*
Quote:
After Primordus, the other great dragons began to stir one by one. The rise of the dragon beneath Orr caused the entire continent to surface, sparking a tidal wave that swept the coastline and drowned thousands. In the deepest waters of the sea, another dragon breathed, twisting the waters themselves into tentacled horrors that rose from every lake and river of the land. Only a few years ago, yet another dragon erupted from the northern mountains and flew south over the Charr territory of Ascalon.
|
Hinted that it has been 150 years since the tidal wave/rising of Orr - meaning Orr rose 100 years after EotN *rough guess*:
Quote:
Initially, this system was designed as a temporary government for the refugee camps, but in the 150 years since the flood of Lion's Arch, it has become a stable system, a respected government, and a cornerstone of Krytan culture.
|
Another hint at Orr's rise is that it occured after the info we know of Cantha/Elona - Cantha became isolationist in 1127 AE - 50 years after EotN - over 60 years pass after NF when Joko took over *not when Tyrians lose contact of Elona* -
Quote:
The history of Cantha and Elona, as we know it, ceases around the time of Orr's liberation from the sea.
|
Quote:
In the year 1127 AE, Emperor Usoku, successor to Kisu, took a firm hold of his nation.
|
Quote:
Within sixty years of Kormir's rise to godhood, Palawa Joko mustered his former power and marched a new army of mummies, zombies, and other undead out of the Crystal Desert into war with Vabbi.
|
Conclusion - Orr rises 60-100 years after EotN.
Hints of Drakkar rising 100 years prior to GW2 *150 years after EotN - roughly 90-50 years after Orr's dragon rose*
Quote:
Over the past one hundred years, more and more Norn have been seen in Kryta and lands beyond. An elder dragon of ice and snow arose in the farthest northern peaks, driving even the most stalwart hunters south into Dwarven lands.
|
Ventari dies 87 years after EotN.
Quote:
Then, many years after his human companion had passed on, Ventari laid down beside the tree Ronan had planted, and died. The year was 1165 AE.
|
First Sylvari is born over 187 years after EotN.
Quote:
Over a hundred years later, small cocoons appeared among its branches.
|
That is all of the "dates" we are given as of yet.

The Movement of the World seems to indicate that Orr rose in or around 1175 AE - 97 years after the Great Destroyers defeat.
So if you put it together with the other major events between GW2 and GW1:
1127 AE - Cantha gets it new Emperor
1135 AE (Best guess) - Palawa Joko rises to power
1165 AE - Ventari dies
1175 AE (Best guess) - Orr rises
1265 AE (Best guess) - Sylvari begin to appear
1325 AE (Best guess) - Present day in GW2

And here's a tidbit from King Adelbern's page on the gw2 wiki:
Quote:
King Adelbern is a spectral king, a descendant of Doric of Tyria. His son was killed travelling across the Shiverpeak Mountains 250 years ago, leaving him the last king of Ascalon. Roughly 200 years ago, he summoned the final power of his sword, Magdaer in the Battle of Ascalon City to defeat the Charr and raise the Ascalonian guard from the dead. His ghost stands watch over Ascalon City and the Eastern Frontier to this day, guarding the land against human and Charr alike.
It is said that if Adelbern's sword or his son's, Sohothin, is returned to Ascalon City, he and his guard will fall back into the hands of Grenth, where they belong.

Wiki is unreliable. That bit about the "roughly 200 years ago" was added by Santax. As shown here. Santax doesn't seem like a legit Anet employee. Thus - an inaccurate guess.

It exists as a player controlled data-base for the community to put together info and the like. This means that there will be inaccurate data, just as there will be accurate data. When I said the wiki is unreliable - I meant that you cannot take what is on there as 100% proof. The wiki is most unreliable for canon lore. However, again, that does not mean that it is not always unreliable.
There is stuff on there that is truth, some that is speculation, and others that is gathered data. Just as on the forums.
Afterall, someone was putting his fan-fiction up there on several pages, which even contradicted canon lore. And that stuff had to be redone several times because he kept changing it.
If you look on that page, I edited the date to be more accurate to the "best guess" of what we have - 30 years after the Searing.

Seers of Truth incident comes to mind. But that's giving the editfreak too much credit.
Hence it's always best if an article has some sort of link to it's source. Like most refer to the Movement of the World article.

While its true that Wiki shouldnt be used to follow up lore, that page is kind of correct - "roughly 200 years ago" is a good estimation for when Ascalon falls.

Only if you go by roughly in that century. Unlike how Axwind took it which was roughly 1125 AE. Which, by most likely circumstances, would be off by 25 years of a best guess. Although it could also be just off by around 5 years. Although I would guess that the end of the Charr/Ascalonian War would also mean the event of Adelbern using his sword's power - therefore "more than 30 years" after the war started *1070 AE* but, most likely, less than 40 years since the war started. Therefore suggesting 1100 AE to 1110 AE - which means that Axwind's interpretation would be off by 25 to 15 years *obviously respectively*.

Except that Pyre's granddaughter didn't begin the conquest of Ascalon until 40 years after EOTN. Which means it's impossible for Ascalon City to have fallen before that.
