INTRODUCTION
Hello artists and non-artists! This thread is meant to be a gold-mine for artists with hard-earned skills to make some money on the side drawing my character, Reyla Terest. I have enjoyed hounding and chasing after artists (you know who you are/were) for drawings depicting my character, and this thread is meant to offer a way for artists to be paid in a non-contest manner!

I am also making this thread to offer artists a flexible and rewarding outlet to draw my character with all of the materials and suggestions I have at hand so that the tiresome PMs back and forth can be avoided! This is also a good way for lurking artists who are too lazy to maintain threads or post threads to make some good hard platinum drawing my character =).

Although I prefer realism, please keep in mind that I am open to other, unique styles of artistry, as long as there's a strong perspective and creative style. Any art that does not approach similar levels to the examples is not preferred. I am not paying for your time and effort, I am paying for the end product. If I take away nothing but 4-5 exquisite drawings from this thread, I will be the happiest clam in the world.

WHY DRAW FOR ME?
I love my character. I has LOTS of commissions with people already x). Artists such as Qing_Guang, Marshmallow, ravensong, Eliara, Piglou and MoragD. I'm sure they can tell you I am fair and square with my payments =). I understand that there is some trust involved here, but I am here for the long term and really want quality work done of my character. I have a very detailed and hopefully unique take on my character that will interest and challenge any artist looking to perhaps benefit in GW and expand their portfolio.

NITTY-GRITTY
I am willing to pay large amounts of cash for quality work. To ensure that I am not biased with regards to this, I have asked a couple Nolani regulars to be part of my grading scheme. Each person will grade the work, and weights will be assigned depending on the grader. The grade will be broken down thusly:

YunSooJin: 40%
Mystery #1: 15%
Mystery #2: 15%
Mystery #3: 15%
Mystery #4: 15%

GRADING SCALE

Composition:
1–10 points
- How does the overall piece look? Is it a dynamic painting?
- Does the painting draw attention to Reyla?
- Do the colors fit?

Character:
1-10 points
- How well does the piece fit Reyla?
- Can I tell it's Reyla (NOTE: refer to DESCRIPTION of Reyla)?
- Does it FEEL like Reyla?

Effort/Difficulty:
1-10 points
- Medium used (digital, traditional)
- How much work APPEARS to have been invested in the piece? (Time spent is not an indicator of the final quality)
- What is the scope of the piece?
- How much (good) detail was put into it?

Technique:
1-5 points
- How technically demanding is the piece?
- Medium used (digital, traditional)

1-5 points
- This is the creative/impression category. Points here will be awarded based on the gestalt of the piece.

Maximum score: 40 points

REWARD SYSTEM
Note: This is currently TENTATIVE. The system will be finalized with the submission of at least one drawing to see if it works out fairly.

<20 points: Will have to see
20 points: 100k
27 points: 200k
33 points: 300k
38 points: 400k

I RESERVE ALL RIGHTS TO MAKE FINAL DECISIONS REGARDING PAYMENT! I will never pay LESS than what is stated under the reward system. I will also provide tips payment as I see fit. A drawing that receives 39 or 40 points will be under special consideration.

THE CHARACTER:
NOTE: You do not have to read this at all, but I can guarantee your score will be better if you do =P.

Character: Reyla Terest
Character type: Stoic. Clipped humor. Enjoys sleeping next to yaks near a fire. Reyla is the staff sergeant who will beat you to within an inch of your life. When it comes down to business, she will take the bullet for those under her wing. Not afraid to play dirty when fighting. Regards fighting not as a glorious endeavor, but a bitter struggle to the end. Enjoys taking care of her armor and weapons during idle times.
Descriptive ‘feel’ text: The northern winds whipped through the steppe, a shrill whistle that carried through the air. The cold winds were a familiar companion to Reyla, who had spent much of her life in the mountains. Her eyes are grey as the rock-strewn landscape before her, stoic and unforgiving as the harsh environment before her. She was only as one must be to thrive in the fierce, barren beauty of these steppes.
Character Type: Lawful Neutral
Age: Looks to be mid-30s to late 40s. Depends on how tired she is.
Height: 5ft 8in.
Life Background: Ancestry seems to be half Elonian, half Tyrian. Was raised by her Tyrian grandfather in the border between the Northern Shiverpeaks and Ascalon. Reyla and her grandfather was a shepherd of yaks. Learned to fight by battling various fauna and Stone Summit raids as she grew up. Also trained by her grandfather, who had martial experience from before the Searing. Was orphaned before the Searing, but survived due to their yak herd. The Searing scattered the yak herd, and Reyla decided to take up arms and work as a mercenary for traveling merchant caravans.
Reyla's chose to become a mercenary because it was the most convenient way she could travel + make money. She aids the helpless along the way that need her, but does not actively take sides.
Gods closest to Reyla: Balthazar for strength and courage. Lyssa for cunning and deception.
Characteristics not in Reference Pictures:
Hair is starting to grey.
Muscular for a female. Not as dainty as the GW screenshots.
Slightly more powerful, thicker thighs that allow for bursts of speed underneath armor.
Left-handed. <-- ARMOR SHOULD BE FLIPPED HORIZONTALLY IF NECESSARY (ie Gladiators)
Long scar on the top of her left forearm, short scar on the inside of her upper left arm.
Neck is shorter and not as swan-like.
Breasts are a large B-cup, small C-cup.

SUGGESTED SCENES
These are some desired scenes that have been rolling around in my head for a long time. If an artist can depict one of these scenes successfully, I can guarantee higher marks, at least from me.

Scene 1
At the grave of a friend after battle. Kneeling, bruised, hands cold and blistered. Simple marker commemorating the grave, slight mound.
Sun is dawning. Reyla is disheveled, eyes closed, face points down or face to the sky, eyebrows furrowed, as if in pain.
Feeling: Exhaustion, desolation.
Armorset: Gladiators

Scene 2
Mouth open with teeth showing in battle, screaming lost in the din of those dying and triumphant. Reminiscent of the movie, 300, when Spartans are roaring.
Feeling: Ferocity, features contorted by battlelust.
Armorset: Whichever

Scene 3
Sitting by the fire in a hut or by the campfire outside, exhausted, sleeping by the fire, weapons close by.
Background: Woodlands
Feeling: Exhaustion, peace.
Armorset: Primevil, Silver Eagle

Scene 4
On a horse, looking over a caravan she is supposed to be guarding. Wind blowing in her face, perhaps her cloak as well.
Background: desert/canyon type area.
Feeling: Serenity, calm.
Armorset: Primevil

Scene 5
Enjoying a simple meal of moa, cheese, yak butter and milk and some bread =P.
Background: Outside woodlands, or tavern.
Feeling: Hunger
Armorset: Whichever

Scene 6
Not dressed in her armor, cleaning her weapons and gear at night by candlelight. Gear may be strewn about, oily cloth rags, dirty cloth rags, shapening stones, etc. Dressed in simple tunic undergarments, do NOT oversexualize.
Background: Inside a simple wooden shelter, or a stone hut.
Feeling: Concentration, peace, stability.
Armorset: none

Scene 7
Leaned up against a tree, peering over to an enemy encampment, eyes reflecting the moonlight. A dichotomy of orange-red from fire + white/silver/blue from the moonlight in this picture.
Background: Forest
Feeling: Mystery? Tenseness from being sneaky?
Armorset: Silver Eagle, Luxon

Scene 8
Swimming through the sea with weapons strapped to her back. Sun illuminating columns of water in the sea as the sunlight peeks out from behind the clouds.
Background: Underwater/coral reef type area? Maybe sunken ship.
Feeling: Mystery/wonder
Armorset: Luxon

Scene 9
Rising out of the water under the cover of moonlight. Eyes are glowing from moonlight reflections here as well. Moon also shimmers off the water. Seaweed in Reyla's armor and hair.
Feeling: no idea
Armorset: Luxon

Scene 10
Reyla in a very tense stance, kind of when a dog or a cat raises their hackles and growls/hisses. Female avatar of balthazar taking shape around her, (a la Naruto+fox demon, though I hate to say this..) or taking ghostly form on Reyla's frame.
Feeling: Rage, ethereal.
Armorset: Gladiators

Scene 11
Reyla, drenched from a torrential downpour. Scene captures Reyla's form and face lighting up when lightning strikes off in the distance. Background would be mountainous/rocky with short grasses. Making her way up or down the lower rungs of a mountain. Leading a horse maybe? Cloak optional.
Feeling: Meant to be a transient scene. Maybe brooding.
Armorset: whatever

Scene 12
Reyla shield up, sword readied, much like the way the Spartans look in their shield formation. Stalking across a golden meadow with waist/chest high grass. Sunlight splayed across the meadow, because the sun is setting. Face would be tense, sweaty.
Feeling: Tense/meadow would be beautiful

I'd toyed with holding a contest for over a year, but I find most of them unfair, cos of all those who put in so much and only get third place or lower ..
thought about giving an ecto or Black or something to all entrants regardless .. but that'd encourage a host of five minute jobs

but this way, everybody wins~! and each is spurred to do their very best:}
