I was one of those "intense lurkers" I unfortunately discovered this thread after I had submitted my entry. I immensely enjoyed this thread, you are the real winners.
This is my entry. I let my hopes get too high and was severely disappointed that I didn't make the cut. However, this is not to say that any of the winners were by any means undeserving.
I hope someone enjoys my work .

Grats to everyone who won.
There were a lot of good pieces in this thread. I think it would be very hard to judge all the entries for these kinds of contests.
Everyone should be proud of what they did. You're all winners in my book.

hehe well done Guru people! Congratulations!
I'm a tad dissapointed I didn't place, but then apparently by now you have to be either crazy-good at painting, or have a totally original idea. Nvm

Looking at the entries that didn't place, the competition was EXTREMELY tough and quality was overall very high. No one should feel ashamed of their work, but not everyone can win! Gz to all for your wonderful art.

I'm glad we got a few workshop people among the winners and HMs, but I'm sorely disappointed that certain entries did NOT place, over certain others which did. Anyway, it's time to make the Workshop Party details official, as well as the winners (sometime on sunday, I hope, if I get the votes of certain other judges by then).
Quote:
A Workshop schedule has been made, thanks to (especially) Minami Kaori's volunteer work as a Party Organizer! Many thanks to her!!
The Workshop Party will be held twice the same day next week, in order to allow attendants from different timezones. There is no restriction as to who can come and who cannot, we'd just love to see as many Workshop participants as possible on such a short notice!
1st party, USA time friendly:
Tuesday the 19th of January at Droknar's Forge, Asia-Japan-D1.
Times: 9 pm - 1 am CST, 7 pm - 11 pm West Coast, 10 pm - 2 am East Coast (this would be around 4 am - 8 am Denmark time).
2nd party, Europe time friendly:
Tuesday the 19th at Droknar's Forge, Asia-Japan-D1
Times: 8 pm - 12 am Denmark time, 7 pm - 11 pm England time (this would be around 1 pm - 5 pm central USA time)
Confirmed Activities
- Additional activities may still be added.
- All times for Party#1 are Central USA, all times for Party#2 are England (GMT).
- Prizes include: consumables, gold, crafting materials, minis, random donations toward the workshop, and/or random donations handed in during the party. Please note that these prizes are considerably smaller than the Workshop Awards, and consist 100% of donations toward the party in particular. If you wish to get rid of some things, donating toward the party is a good way of doing so.
Trivias
Trivia questions will be asked, the first person who answers with the correct solution is the winner.
Scheduled time and duration Party#2:
Start: 8 pm Finish: 8:30 pm
/roll100
Every participant will type in /roll100 in the chat, only once. Whoever rolls twice will be disqualified from that round.
The person who rolled the highest number will win.
In the event of a tie, the tied participants will roll the dice again.
Scheduled time and duration Party#1:
Start: 11 pm. Finish: 11:30 pm
Scheduled time and duration Party#2:
Start: 9 pm Finish: 9:30 pm
Guess the XP
Minami picks a person who's attending the party from Tzu's list of Nolani Celebrities, and the other people will guess how much experience points he/she has.
Scheduled time and duration Party#1:
Start: Midnight Finish: all names used/prize pool depleted.
Scheduled time and duration Party#2:
Start: 10 pm Finish: 10:30 pm
WORKSHOP AWARD PRIZES WILL BE HANDED OUT ON BOTH DAYS.
A group picture will also be taken, both days.
Picture taken by Verene, in the Halloween Workshop Guild Hall party last year.

I'll try and do group pictures again for the Wintersday parties - I can for sure during the first party (though I'll be a bit late - working until close so I won't be here until about 9:30-10pm, and I'll need to leave by midnight), but I can only pop into the second one for a little bit. Does anyone want to do group pics for the second day?

Massive props to everyone who placed! I may not have posted much, but I was watching this thread all Wintersday in awe of your work. It's a shame more of you couldn't be winners. I'm especially glad Tzu was recognised after all the work she put into this thread.
Speaking of which, I'd be honoured to party with whoever's around on day 2

Yikes, 10-2am? =P Well I'll make it but I probably won't be able to be there for the whole thing since I work at 6am in the morning. Pretty late for USA friendly eh? =P
As for day 2 I may be like 2 hours late (due to work) but I should be able to make the bulk of it.

Trivia cancelled for day 1 unless someone can step in for Tommy.
Either way I think we may have to change the times for day 1 if there's enough interest. I can only make it for day 2 myself.

Trivia time!! 30 riddles with 30 great prizes to be won!!
To organise things a bit better (Maybe good if Daniel and I use the same rules) and to make everyone extra exited (if only possible, everyone should be thrilled!) I already explain how this will go.
I will tell a riddle consisting of 3 sentences. The first to get the good answer gets a prize. The prize will be handed out as the following: I will have my inventory numbered from 1 to 30 and every slot contains an item. These items will consist of undedicated miniatures, of which a freezie, nornbear, quetzal sly and others, a few elite tomes, small packs of consumables like 2 snowman summoners or 9 absinthe and other items. So there are small and big prizes. If you answer a harder trivia you got the same chance on a good prize as if you answer an easier trivia. Maybe unfair, but a bit of luck is part of the game.
After the trivia is told and there isn’t a good answer within 3 minutes I will move on to the next one and no price will be handed out. If there is a very close to good answer (small typo or something) I will judge if I find it ok or not. All answers have their own page on guild wars wiki. Feel free to try and find the answer on there, but remember that someone else could be faster! Answers could be NPC’s, foes, items, skills, locations, etc. You can shout as many possible answers as you like, so go and practice your typing speed!
I will keep things in order by typing in the trading chat. Everyone participating should talk in the local chat, so my text is easier to reconize (this only applies during the game or other festivities). I ask everyone to do this, to keep things in a good line and have a smooth game proceding. If the good answer is guessed I'll say it as fast as I can and name the player that has guessed the good answer first. This person should come to me, tell me a number in my inventory and I will trade the item with the player. If the slot is empty because someone already took that prize, you are allowed to guess again. Once the prize has been handed out, the next trivia starts. For the people that quickly want to look up the answer on wiki, there won't be any waiting! So if you are still browsing wiki while the next trivia started (though it probably still is in your window) I will not repeat is. Also the chances are big someone else guessed it first.
That would be about it, hope you agree on these rules Daniel (and others ) I'm afraid you will have to fetch your own prizes. See you during the trivia!
