@ funeral: that's so cool! must take better picture, we want to see more!!
I'm nearing the end! (finally.. ) I have to say that a lot of the motivation to stick with this for so long (one of my most extensive projects evar) was provided by the feedback in this thread, and the fact that people like(d) it. THANKS PEOPLE!
Not quite 100% done, I want to let it settle for a while and then touch up the last details. And yes, it's gonna snow in the picture as well, for more *brrrrilliant winter feeling

@ Kiya: Ooooo snuggle snuggle the plushie ^_^
@ Morag: That pic is just too awesome. I love everything about it, the feeling, the colors, the theme... Definite win.
I tried your suggestion for Grenth, a line down the face seemed to work the best, and it made him look just adorable *lol*
Will post a progress pic when I finished the base coloring.

Woody: is it just the pictures being weird, or does that head glow in the dark? O.O
Chyminy: Fantastic progress, thanks so much for sharing! You've got a very original style and great sense of atmosphere and detail. The composition is very good, and the idea behind the illustration is obvious. I really like the dramatic perspective and lighting, and the grentchies look terrified! XD
I think Chyminy's left thigh needs some more work though, the bulge underneath/on the inside seems kind of unnatural to me. When I look at the silhouette in the first 3 progress pictures, it looks right though, so I think it's got more to do with the lighting. Her face, the chin and jawline in particular, could also be revised. That angle/perspective is incredibly hard to pull off, but I've no doubt you could do it. At the moment her jaw looks a little too broad and wide, and her chin a little too small. According to your avatar, which I'm guessing is a screenie of Chyminy, she's got longer, sharper, more elf-like features.
Here's an example of a reference image you could use to help you out: from www.chamberstock.deviantart.com
I'm pretty sure there are a couple over at Senshistock too, but I can't check myself as I somehow don't have access to deviantart right now.
It looks really good though, those Grentchies will never get to her present no matter what. XD

Here's Grenth with the new (and better) line down his face, and the base colors filled in. ^_^
Now I'm gonna do the lineart, then the shading.

Zidane: Thanks so much! I hope you find the steps helpful.
Tzu: I'm a big fan of your costume work and can't wait to see how your Dwayna outfit will work out. How are you going to make your skin blue?
Thank you for the encouraging words and the critique. I agree with you on the face/chin/jaw. I've published another step. Let me know if you think it is an improvement. I also worked on her thigh and lower pelvic region, hoping to make the area more readable. Thank you so much for the links. I've put a 'watch' on that site because I like their library of dynamic poses, something I enjoy trying to capture.
Lorenna: Thanks so much for your comments. What part of the stance looks akward to you? Is it the range of motion of her limbs? Or does she look unbalanced?

Hi, Tzu recruited me from the depths of the intarwebz to give CnC for her thread. In an attempt to not give unwanted comments/criticism, please let us know in future if you would like any comments :P
I'll be as constructive as possible, but some things may be harsh
