@Tzu
I plan to keep it as close as possible to in game. So for the gingerbread houses, I'll have to bake mini gingerbread houses (which kind of sucks, I tend to burn things... I lose interest and get sidetracked lol), use lollipops and candycanes where needed, lots of that spray snow for the ground and junk, probably go pull off some bits of tree for the xmas tree, painted cardboard for the stairs etc or maybe that wall repair stuff since it would look closer to concrete. And probably lots of paint, clay, cardboard. Haven't decided on if I'll include npcs and stuff... I think it might be better without them.
Was poking around the christmas stuff and saw our miniature village and was like oooooh that'd be annoying to do of Kamadan... but I have like a month and a half... so gonna try. Should be a complete pain in the ass, but maybe I'll actually win something this time -_-

Hmmmm considering I can't draw or paint or well, pretty much do anything arty
I decided to write uh, something Not sure what it is.... sort of non-rhyming poem thingy
Any criticism on how to improve it is very welcome. Don't have snow or anything where I'm from so I did my best
This is what I have so far, it's not finished:
The leaves are falling from the trees
An icy wind is blowing
The heavens are grey like winter's beard
The first snow is falling
Grenth presides over this season of ice
His icy breath chills the wind
He watches from above, cloaking the sky
From his hand comes the snow
Minions of Grenth roam the land
Grentches abound, intent on mischief
Stealing presents and cheer alike
Aided by the tricksome Humbug

Well I was totally stumped on what to do... until last night, when I went to see the Battlefield Band playing at Caltech. One of their members is a virtuoso on the Highland fiddle, and they were playing a lively tune and I was watching him and all of a sudden I remembered - what is Medea's favorite thing in the world? Playing the fiddle! (Well, she prefers to be considered a violinist, but she ain't above playing folk tunes and such.)
So here's my idea: Ebia and Medea are hosting a Wintersday party at their little house (at this stage of the game they live in Kryta; they won't relocate to Istan for 5-10 more years), and everyone is invited (though I doubt Tiye will be coming). But only Jenna is in the area; everyone else is coming by boat from Kaineng and Kamadan, so the three of them are hanging out for a few days. So they're sitting around the living room wrapped up in warm blankets and drinking hot cocoa. They've already gotten all the decorations up and such, and they're getting a tad bored, so Dea decides to strike up a lively tune of a familiar carol and they all join in.
So yeah. In a nutshell, a cozy little atmosphere, with decorations and cocoa and such, and Jenna and Ebia are caroling to Dea's accompaniment.
This will be insanely hard and time-consuming if I go with it, but I love the story (though o'course I can't really send that part to ANet), and it sounds like fun. And I've got the time what with the holiday this Wednesday and then winter break, and I'm just dying to draw Dea a-fiddlin'.

Well I've actually got somewhere [for once!] with ideas! But I'm still stuck with two that I can't choose between:
First idea-A song/remix of a GW theme tune or something. I have FL Studio 9 so I can create songs and remixes and I've always wanted to remix a GW tune or something. Only problem setting me back from this that it keeps crashing on me for some reason.
Second idea-A drawing. I've sent a message to a few of my friends to see if I could possibly draw some of their chars along with Angel Of Slyness [my assa], all of them dressed in some sort of Wintersday costume or casual Wintersday clothes, maybe have Grenth/Dwayna/both looking down on them, I'll probs figure the god stuff out when I get to it.
Which idea do you guys think is best? lol I can't decide for once!

@ Crucist Ovv: I'll have to get back to you on that, I dunno if I should allow it or not yet! ^^ it would have to be cross-category in that case, of course.
@ Narcissia: wow, that sounds awesome and nostalgic. Can't wait to see! ^^
@ BladeWind: it would be an honour to have you!
@ Soni D: I like it! ^^
@ Qing: that sounds great, reeally xmas-I mean wintersday-y (O.o)... Will be an elaborated scene and require a lot of work, but I'm sure you can pull it off ^^
@ Kylanf: I for one would love to hear some music, but I think you should go for whichever you feel you can do best. :3
I uploaded my first video today, it's kind of a test thing and I'll begin the actual tut next time, but I dunno... if you're bored, it's in my blog: http://dwayna.wordpress.com/

ooooh video blog! Awesome! can't wait
edit:
actually, I have a quick question for you guys: In my sketch I drew Rurik and Bonfaaz shaking hands, mainly because the original painting is about two rather important guys (and their retinue blahblah). But it keeps bugging me. First of all, Rurik is a bit of a twat and I'm not sure I actually want to spend time painting him and secondly, I'd kindof like to tell a story of the ordinary folk fighting for Ascalon, those that don't even have a name and don't get mentioned (same for the charr, really). So it would be more a spontaneous event. what do you think?

I have no idea why it's making me validate images that are uploaded, it shouldn't be doing that >.> and I can't find any settings to change that.
Oh well, I'll try and keep on top of it as best I can.
