I've gone mad, which means possible free art.
Yeah, pretty much that's what it comes down to.
I'm not reopening my commission shop anytime soon (I simply don't have the time or energy to keep up with that). Maybe in the future and with higher prices so I don't get so bogged down with requests. But not now.
However, I am itching to draw things. In particular, I want to practice with my markers and colored pencils (yay Prismacolor sets!). I've got a fair amount of practice with colored pencil and it's definitely my favorite traditional medium to work with, but I've never really bothered much with using my markers, until last week I went "Screw it, I'm learning how to use these".
Kinda need things to draw, though. Heh.
Now, I'm making no guarantees as to what I'm going to draw. It might just be a pencil sketch with some colored shading added on. It might wind up a fully inked and colored drawing. I might just go "screw it" and color it digitally (going to try and avoid that though!). I am only going to do portraits, though, and I prefer female characters as I'm more comfortable with drawing them. Just because a character gets posted here doesn't mean I'm going to draw them. I'll do the drawings/sketches as my whims take me.
So, post up a closeup of your character (the preview window from the appearance changer NPC is ideal but not necessary). Add in a bit of info about them if you wish. If they stand out to me, I'll start sketching, and see where it goes from there.
Some examples:
Marker - Rianna Xi quick sketch of my Star Wars RP character that I decided to color in marker. First time I've really used the things. I'm pretty pleased with the result, other than the fact that I started too dark on her hair so I couldn't add in highlights.
Colored pencil - haaaaand just a thing we did with class, quick sketch of our hand colored as accurately as possible. My skin is not that blue, but since the bristol was a lot larger than my scanner, it didn't scan properly.
Colored pencil - Dali replica class project. Had to crop out a section of a painting, trace it onto bristol, and then replicate the colors as faithfully as possible.
Colored pencil - Mucha replica same as above. I don't have a good scan of this since my teacher kept it as an example piece. The colors on the actual replica are much more vibrant and accurate than they appear here.
Pencil - compositional thumbnails just for the hell of it, sheets of thumbnail sketches from one of my classes.
Pencil - still life I KNOW THE PICTURE QUALITY IS CRAP. I don't have a scan of this one because it's frickin' huge and won't fit on my scanner. I need to take a picture of it with my nice camera. This was another class project.
So, yeah. Have fun ^^

Is it bad that I noticed the Arizona Ice Tea almost immediately in your "Pencil - compositional thumbnails" link? I actually have a can with me right now. :P
Definitely impressed with your sketches and such though, reserving this spot for when I have time to re-edit and add my character(s).
Keep up the awesome work!

Haha, yeah, I kind of live off of Arizona Iced Tea. And all the desks are scratched, because so many people forget to use a cutting board when cutting things. It's kind of annoying.

She's a very smart girl who from an early age loved nature. She likes maths and using it to calculate interupts on her opponent. Her failing eye-sight started making her a bad shot, so she got prescriptions from some Asura's when she was 22. Now she is 24 and enjoys her days fighting in Random Arenas or at her home in Beetletun.

Verene, those are lovely pics I particularly like the hand.
I am hoping for a piccy of my ranger, Aero
She is not the heroic sort, can never quite remember where she was going or what she was doing. Takes good care of her bows though. She is kind and generous, always up for a laugh (or a drink).
hazel eyes.

I'm always in the market for art trades. Here is a link to my thread. I'd love to do an exchange. The composite cards for my girls are in that thread so feel free to choose one of them.

If you feel like drawing a mesmer....

I've also got all costumes, and can re-screenshot any combination of those armors. And can screenshot in higher resolution if you want.
Her normal weapons are a celestial compass (blue + silver dye) with either a black illusion cane or a tattooed scimitar. I switch between displaying a Mini moa chick and mini asuran. She has a rainbow phoenix, but I don't really have a use for a pet as a mesmer.
For role play... (abbreviated) Lillium is Ascalonian. She settled in Kryta for a while and was married, but left (with her husband) shortly after to chase down some chosen (& continue following the story line through eotn). She spent a lot of time and really enjoys traveling, stayed with the Ebon Vanguard for quite some time, and is now back in Kryta after supporting Queen Salma in the war. She's in her early/mid 30's, but it is hard to tell exactly how old as she is never in public without a mask. She is a very pale blond with light blue eyes. Her hair is long, but she keeps it tied back so it will not interfere.
As a mesmer, Lillium would rather not tell you much about herself personally but instead leave you mystified and wondering.

I actually have some ideas for most of the ones you guys have posted XD Early work day tomorrow (this week is helllll) so I'm not going to allow myself to draw tonight. If I do, I won't get to bed on time. So I'll probably do some sketches tomorrow and see where they go.
And I'd love to do a trade, Rydia! I'll post up some of my characters for you to look through when I start sketching for you.
