Oh wow, thank you very much! She looks gorgeous, you really managed to capture her very well. Wasn't expecting to have her be drawn so quickly. So happy!
I shall begin on your character asap.

The portrait I did for Simon Le Bon took about 2 hours, I remember because I watched that terrible "Avengers" movie with Uma Thurman (I loved the show and Diana Rigg so I assumed it would be awesome, but no) and I had the piece close to complete by the end of the film. If the portrait is 8x11, 9x12 or so, I can usually complete them with in 2-4 hours. If its poster size portrait, those take several days because if there is a photo of a person or thing, I have to do a hand graph grid across the original photo to match it to scale. But they also take days just do to the general size as well. I once did a commission of Duran Duran's Nick Rhodes (in my photo with the band he is the blond on the end) for a fan, and it was a 24x36 poster sized manila of him. Near full body--his head to about his thighs and the photo was of him in a velvet suit, so it was fun because of texture. I think that one took a month.

*frantically looks through Rydia's queue* If I am not mistaken, I am the only one with a mesmer request maybe I am being presumptous and just gonna embarrass myself but I really hope that's my mesmer lol! Looks beautiful already! *_*
Also I need to know if you want a digital drawing or a full color/render as a trade
Oh do you have a pic of that near full body pic commission you did? I really like your style. The Manila ones look like something that would look good framed in an entertainment room of a house. ^_^
I still don't have a grasp of how long I can do art. I spend like thirty minutes to an hour on a weekday and sometimes whole afternoon for a weekend.

This is the black and white scan version. I will scan the normal version tonight. I think both look sort of cool.

Wow *_* I really love it! She looks so glamorous! Yeah I'd love to have both versions (b/w scan and actualy scan) if you don't mind but no rush ^_^
I am planning to finish Omens' commission this weekend so I might be able to start on yours next week. Since I will be doing a portrait for you it would be something that I can do on top of another commission. Portraits are within my comfort zone although I know I haven't been doing them a lot lately cos I am practicing anatomy and my commissions are usually full body ones lol
Thanks a bunch! I really really like it!

I love the style of these. It sort of reminds me of old books with the sort of engraved pictures in them.
It has a very classic, timeless look to it. Looking forward to seeing more
Very nice and very frame-able as well - always a good quality to have.

And I'm still working on my scanner, I managed to get something better with 1200 dps of resolutions, which is crazy but it looks like there's no other way...I'll try to put it even higher, I'll manage it someway
|
What kind of scanner trouble are you having? Generally scanning at 300 dpi is enough to guarantee a good looking A4-sized drawing. 400-600 dpi is for A3, and so on. Scanning at higher than that makes for one huuuuuge picture. I wouldn't recommend going over 1200, there really should be no need to scan that high.
If it's just about the drawing looking too faint when you scan it, you can try to boost up black and white contrast in the scanner's own settings, or then use a simple image editing program where you can edit black and white Levels. For example, Paint.net has that ability. Scanning at a higher resolution won't fix faint scan lines very well and it's just making you work with a drawing that's unnecessarily large.
@ Rydia: Eee, loving your drawings! I really like your style, it has a very personal touch to it. Can't wait to see more.
Also, just a suggestion on behalf of those of us with slow internet connection - would it be possible to have smaller versions of your drawings here for us to enjoy, and then pm the big ones to their respective people? My fiancee nearly throttled me yesterday for loading up this page and clogging up our internet connection for the next 15 min. The size at which you drew my dervish is still manageable, but Raven's mesmer and Mintha Syl's ranger were rather huge.
