Finaly decided what to do. As this is a progress thread I'll post my idea as I can't keep it a secret till its finished Gonna make 3 people charging at the camera like they are gonna attack something: A female warrior in original canthan cloth with Champane poppers as weapons, a female sin with bottle rockets and female rit in norn armor probably with sparklers or something of that sorts. Digitally painted. Better get started soon, with my drawing skills it will take a while
Sorry for being inactive in the thread lately, had exams, though this seems to be able to keep itself alive
@ Ashigaru, Thnx for the donation <3 I'll add you to the list.
@ Charlie, oh so soon :O Really looking forward!
@ Renai, :O Wow an Oil painting! Really looking forward to seeing that. Make some progress and material photo's really would like to see some stuffs

I also cosplayed Rinoa Heartilly before (although I really wanted Quistis) and a few others.
Yay for clean socks! Although I think the socks need to be a bit more lavander than blue green?

Lulu! What convention was that at? I'm a bit of a cosplay nerd myself (haven't had much time for it in the past few years though), and I staff the main con I attend (Anime Central). A few years back we did a masquerade group and won second place for our skit (search Final Fantasy Behind the Music on youtube, it's the first two results).
Tzu - cosplay isn't really that big here...it just seems that it is because we have so many conventions that go on. However that's still no guarantee that there's even a con near you, most tend to be on the east or west coast. I live in Chicago and while we've got one of the biggest cons in the country here, one that I've worked for for...five years now (assistant department head of tabletop gaming, cos I'm a geek), there's really not many others around here. Most are out of state.
That sounds awesome, Tommy
I've got a few ideas in mind, I'll see if I have time to start sketching soon. I was on vacation the past week (my boyfriend gave me a ring ohmygodholycrap ) and I start school again tomorrow, but I should still have time to draw ^_^

I guess I found my idea. I might be doing something about when Shiro fell for the first time. You know, with Vizu, Archemorus and Saint Viktor. Here are the very first crappy sketches that came to my mind. I have no idea if the end will be some strip, alone illustration or else.
Anyway, I got a question. Despite the fact Vizu and Nika have the same skin, except for the hair, I was wondering which one could be Vizu. If you see the Factions cinematic, it's Nika's style. But if you look at Vizu IG, she has the straight hair style.
As for me, I am more concerned by what I can see IG. Any thoughts?

Nika is the something daughter of Vizu, at least relatives, don't know howmany generations between them Nika has more swung in her hair, Vizu has straight hair. I think it's Nika on the cover and such, not Vizu, I would just stick to the cinematic one indeed. And lol at your progress, I lost track on image nr 5 Whatthehack are the bird and fish doing at the end

Another thing about Vizu/Nika; Vizu has blue eyes, whereas Nika has green.
Speaking of which, there is no way I'll be able to finish Nika in time. I'll just have to cancel it, sadly. Hopefully I'll have time to do a painting of some kind, but it'll be very last minute. Hope everyone enjoys the workshop, I hope to have time to visit and give some CC, but chances are I won't. :/

Tzu > oh... :/
Tommy's > The bird and fish are transformed into amber and jade due the the jade wind :P
(I always was disappointed in the cinematic not be able to see the sea transformed into jade, I bet the effect would have been so great)

Sad face, Tzu.
I should be posting the finished piece probably later today. I'm trying to get this picture out of the way since I have two research papers coming up along with other art projects. I can't really dwell on this picture for long, so the faster I submit the better.
I'm hoping I at least win one of the Celestial tigers. My luck is rubbish and I didn't get one at the New Year.

HELLO, CANTHA. IS YOUR ASS READY TO BE ROCKED?
Artist Name: Charlie
Artworks Name: Confrontation at the Skyway
I ditched the idea of a trio of heroes and instead focused on Iron in an alternate suit of armor. Just sort of a meet n' greet with one of the Elder dragons up on the Xaquang Skyway, on the rooftops of Kaineng.

Loving it Charlie <3 Great palette, love the clouds around the dragon!
Only critique I could give would be the hands of our hero, look a bit like lineart, would blend it a little, but that is only minor. Second thing I think could be corrected is the sorta brigdelike thing. I think it should need another pillar, this seems like its gonna crash any minute Last thing would be that it might be cool if the dragon has a colourful eye or some brighter parts dunno, seems a bit unfinished to me. Also one of the chains looks a bit strangely bendended but uehhh.. I'm CnCing too much xD Lol, all minor details.
But great piece of work Good luck with your papers and art project!

That was the feeling I was going for with the bridge. I like the idea of these long spans of scrap-heap bridges that add to the sky-way environment. It's fun to bend the rules of realism for the sake of creativity. As for the dragon, the lack of detail on the face is for a sense of mystery and light reflection.
And if I think about these essays any longer, I'm going to eat my own brain. Blargharghargh

Haha Lilly I love your way of drawing ^^ Funny setting, at least when I assume the guy topleft is "shiro" Indeed a bit off the theme, but the theme is to enspire you, so you can't be off too much Maybe some of the acters could be geisha, getting makeup and such (always funny how their lips are, like those http://dianae.deviantart.com/art/Hanagumori-70756649) and maybe add some eastern ornaments which could be stage material that will be used during the scene? Dunno? :3
