Yeah, I had some issues with the head I'll see if I can try and make it a wee bit bigger. It was even smaller b4 :S
EDIT: Okay guys, took all that you said into account and have changed a tweaked it a bit. Gonna start colouring it, and will post again when I've got it half way coloured. I was thinking of using watercolours paints instead, I now i'm thinking of seriously doing that, i'll test it on a different version of the same picture I drew just to make certain. I'll post again soon ^_^

Reason: made a mistake
You guys are right, that biceps its really small, i will make it bigger but it wont be bigger than the shoulder muscle becouse of the perspective, you may catch it when later after colored, but thanks for the suggestions .
@Lil Thing: I suggest you that before making a full draw adding face, hair, decorations etc, you should make some sketches focusing only on the pose, this will help you a lot. Your drawing is looking cool keep it updating .
@Tommy: Great Work! I think it will look really nice, and i really like the nedlee flower under the pumpkin, it adds a great enviorment of halloween maybe you should make more around .
@Lil Thing; it helps if you assume the pose of your character yourself, if you do so (like i just tried) you will find that the left hand (the one holding the skull?/pumpkin?) is twisted in a rather weird way, from my pose it seems that i would only see the thumb and maybe the pinky when assuming said pose and holding something in that arm, so do correct that hand
I need your help guys... im stuck with the head.. Im not sure how and in wich perspective to draw it lol, seems complicated with the shadow of the hood... any suggestions will help . And what do you think about the painting style... it looks like conceptual at? or more like a cartoon?
@Usk: He's looking up at the pumpkin, right? I'd say draw the head as if the hood and shadow weren't there, then add the shadows later (though I'm not much of a character artist yet so... )

Well when I look at your picture there is not really a clear lightsource. So to show my point I just placed it somewhere, but try thinking of a lightsource yourself, you should always indicate it before colouring. Now I was so free to doodle something, was only 5 minutes, but I hope it indicates things a bit.
Now he should be facing the pumpkin I guess, so make his eyes go towards that. Depending on how much the hood is coving the face you get more or less shadow. Best it to make the hood not to cover tooo much because then most of his face disappears (this however makes it look more dark and creepy, so it could be a good choice on the other hand). I think the hood went back too much, almost like it was a tunnel so I shortened that a bit. Also I placed the head a little more backwards. Hope this helps you out a bit.
His head is maybe a bit too small compared to his body, otherwise he would really be way too musculine but also would be big by nature. So you might want to try resizing it a bit and see what fits best.

@Usk - Tommy's suggestion looks good! I especially like how he conveyed the light source, adds more drama to it! Only thing I would do is move the head to the right a little bit, it seems a little too far back compared to his body. That or the angle should be facing away a little to the right because of the way the body is tilted. (Unless you decide to twist the body to the left instead)
I'll probably resume working on my drawing this Sunday because I got a lot going on IRL (nothing bad, just busy with other stuff with friends visiting this weekend).

Lol, thanks for the tips, i'll get my brother and use him as a live model to figure it out :P
EDIT: Yeh, I thought the hand looked a bit strange too, looks a wee bit deformed I'll try fix tht up for you ^_^

Very awesome Cannot wait to seem some uber awesome Halloween artz!
I vote that Tzu be made a site contributor for once again hosting another holiday workshop and bringing so many great artists to a single thread within Nolani to discuss their arts and help each other with their official submissions. It makes the Nolani community so vibrant and active every holiday season
Guys, I'm currently working on another contest on the forums, i'm sure most of you saw it in the nolani forum I'm going to be setting my necromancer aside to the weekend, when i have the most concentration and time to work on it, I'll post another picture of the updated version after i tweaked her neck and replaced the way her hand moves on the skull.
Tzu, were you planning on having another post-contest party again? I wouldn't mind seeing something like again, and having EZ ruin another group picture by facing the wrong way.
Some progress made on the main costume. Took a bit more time than I thought to do this part. Tailored a pair of black pants and a stretchy black shirt down to the proper size then sewed on strips of corduroy to make the patchy look for MKT's base garments. Used charcoal color yarn for the large stitches.
It looks a little odd right now, but as I get the rest of the parts on it will make more sense. Glad my husband is so thin, those pants and shirt are pretty snug now!
Question... I'm new to this Guild Wars Halloween art contest, this is my first year. Is this the right place to be to win the Mini Mad King's Guard? Or was that just for last year?

And when does the contest end?
Thank you.
That was last year. They will offer a new reward on the official GW website soon, but they haven't started it yet (to my knowledge). This is just a community run contest.
I plan on entering the Literature section (with maybe a piece of art attached), but I'm not sure if I have the time yet. I will officially enter later if I think I'll get the time.

That reminds me.... Where are the kewl group pics you (Tzu) took at the Wintersday Workshop party? D8
