Melandru Fanart (3D)
Hey guys, im Tom Lishman, a student studying animation and game design.
A long-time fan of Guildwars, i decided to create a little bit of fan art.
I decided to do Melandru due to the awesome natural feel, and i wanted to create a darker version.
(This is a game-ready, fully mapped and rigged character)

That is amazing. Kinda reminds me of something out of Dead Space. I would love to see a Guild Wars horror game. xD

A model ready that's ready to be in a game.
Anyway. Looks pretty good, perhaps bigger roots in the back like the ingame Avatar form?

It actually has no natural looking texture AT ALL which imho kinda ruins its look. BUT the design itself is pretty sweet

Nice. I personally like the lightning and specular, kinda gives her a very haunting feeling. Very barren version of Melandru. Makes you want to also see a lush green version hehe. Is this an actual render or game engine rendered and I'm curious what engine did you use?
I took a look at your portfolio. Good stuff, especially the environmental paintings and the Viking Village!

Thanks for the comments guys!
Its basically game-ready, but that render was not in an engine.
I decided to take the idea of Melandru and give it a slightly more fleshy feel in comparison to the in-game avatar and really darken it down.
Ignore the weapon, just a placeholder.
To be honest, the whole thing was a week or so mini-project and i love guildwars, so why the hell not? xD
I actually managed to motion capture animate this, but the data corrupted and i lost the animation.
A shot of her while i was sculpting.

You should try a less shiny texture to make it look more like wood.
When i read 3D i was first thinking of a picture for my nvidia 3d glasses. Can you do stereo as well?
