I was going to apply sooner, but I realised that I didn't actually have that many commissions yet (what with all those artists that I commission disappearing all in a sudden... ). Well, I think I qualify now. Here's my gallery (botched together really quickly, I need to make it prettier). More pictures are incoming

Sasha Carelli, Legendary Survivor, by tmakinen
For those interested, here's the story behind this character, and the picture:
The name "Sasha Carelli" is taken form the webcomic Angels 2200. In this comic, PFC Sasha "Hammer" Carelli is one of the main characters until at some point she is left behind on an exploding spaceship and is presumed dead. Now, as it is with fanboys and -girls, they can grow quite affectionate, and Hammer's death resulted in a bit of an uproar on the comic's forum. It has hence become sort of a running joke there to deny Hammer's death, foretelling her glorious return at some later point. (Note that there is no proof that she is dead! No body was found!)
I created Sasha as a GW character with all that in mind, going for Legendary Survivor to illustrate the very point that Hammer is not dead at all. Tmak's picture picks up right there, having her being very much alive, fighting above her own grave.

Got this little number after making a set for Jin from Rokked. I must say she never fails to disappoint, I love the oekaki style.

You got bokuman to do a commission for you, and she's not showing her boobies?! I's disappointed. ):

Well, bokuman needs some variation for his gallery and draw some girls with clothes anyway
On the other hand, I've got another commission from bokuman in the works...

Some of the "high end" commissions aren't all that expensive. For instance, the commission I'm getting from bokuman costs about 40 dollars, that's an excellent price considering the quality of his artwork and it's quite affordable. Just stay away from big name artists such as Al Rio, unless you feel like paying 500 dollars for one black'n'white commission *faints*

I hear that, Slayer - right now, any real-life money commissions are out of my price range. But that WIP looks awesome and promising, Sectus.

For some reason I was unable to add more commissions to my original post, maybe there is a limit of images.
So I guess, this is part 2 for me.
This is my Gallery
and the latest commission..
My Warrior, Achilles Intrepid, looking real cute and real sad. I think he lost his sword. Go figure. Another great sketch by Nephelpito.
And now from Torikae the entire ranger family with pets and all, another amazing shot!!
My Bow eating Pet and Ranger teaching him how to use it as opposed to eat it Brilliant idea, love it!! by Starr The Insane
My Ranger and Moa by Milennin , another really cute cartoony style drawing
This was a Birthday Gift to my RL Partner Commander Ryker : Her ranger and pet and mine, a family love shot by the amazing Babaroga. Saying I love it feels lame.

I third that notion - GW money is far easier to make and as of right now £5 is out of my price range...
Still, I'm interested, does anyone know any other 'real money' artists that they'd recommend?
oh and eightyfour-onesevenfive? Your sin might be prettier, but mine has the awesome power of innocence (Or something like that..)

Well, I can list some of the artists I know of who takes commissions.
http://bokuman.deviantart.com/journal/9452152/
Great artist with a unique style and excellent prices, definitely one of the best choices. Although right now he has no slots free in his commission queue. (prices ranges from 35 dollars (quick "sketchy color" style) to 100 dollars (for artwork with a painted style))
http://daggerpoint.deviantart.com/
Good artist with a western comic-style artwork. Sometimes takes cheap quick commissions for 35 dollars each. Normal commissions costs around 150 dollars if I remember correctly.
http://candra.deviantart.com/
Very impressive artwork, costs around 100 dollars.
http://jadeedge.deviantart.com/
Anime-esque artwork. Very cheap (currently has a "sale" for simple cellshaded or sketch drawings)
http://transfuse.deviantart.com/
Very good artist, takes 15 dollars per hour.
http://reiq.deviantart.com/
Extremely detailed anime-esque artwork, probably one of the most talented on deviantart, on the other hand rather expensive. If I remember correctly, around 180 dollars for a coloured picture with one char and no background. He's taking a few months break from commissions right now though.
http://bratkitty.deviantart.com/
Cheap but good artist. Prices range from 20 to 40 dollars. She and bokuman are probably the best artists to go for if one doesn't have a lot of money to spare on commissions.
http://www.comiconart.com/index.html
Tons of artists available for commissions, all of them drawing in a western comic style. Prices are around 100 dollars, although it varies on the artist.

You can also check these auctions sites for artists available for commissions.

Wow, nice list, Sectus, thanks.
Think it would be a good idea to pin that to the 1st post? I say that because it'll be handy for people coming to this thread for the 1st time if they're thinking about getting commissions. We already have something similar for 'in-house' work anyway, so some external links can only help IMO.
2nd attempt at posting this, guru keeps eating my login...

I've got a commission in progress from Reiq
Been waiting one and a half months for it so it'll hopefully be completed soon.
