I think Sony Vegas is able to do that, is it not? I use it myself and it's pretty good.

Ahhhh!!!
Sorry that I have not posted an update for quite a while guys, I've been really busy over the weekend, and Monday usually means new work to do. So I don't really have the time to critique at the moment, nor read all the previous posts; but here is my update that I worked on today:
http://nemesis-of-the-gods.deviantar...llery/27491109
I know it's not much but I am currently having to work on two art pieces at once, one that is due on Friday so time is tight =/
Also I had a question, what if we already have all of the Wedding costume pack purchased? Would we get to choose a different prize if that one came with what we won if we did win? Just a question.
Also, everyone's art is looking so good! I really like all the creativity around here
Arya your piece is phenomenal
Eastern, your Dwayna is so life-like, I love it!
Gemini, lovely shading that you added, looks great!
I gotta go for now. But I hope that you guys like the update, sorry for the rushed post! =/
--OH YEAH, and I tried to make the ornaments sway more in the wind but it just looked like crap every time I attempted it, so I decided to make them frozen and weighed down...I guess, haha. That's my explanation anyways. Don't think that it takes too much away from the picture though >.>

Feedback!
Eastern Magik: This is really coming along fantastic. Those eyes are striking and I think that the lips are a really lovely color, not too red to be EAGH, but not too pink to be too soft. It's a lovely salmon coral color, very striking with her hair. I was going to comment that the nose looked too far to the side, but you updated that already and it's just looking fantastic. The blush in the cheeks is really beautiful too!
Death By An Arrow: Aww, thank you! If it makes you feel better I am an art student which means I've had a few years of life drawing with live nude models and color theory and anatomy classes and such which really is just amazingly helpful. The size of the file is 9444 pixels wide, by 6695 pixels tall at 72 DPI. I usually work at a higher DPI but I forgot to set it at the beginning, lol. It will be scaled down a lot at the end. The screenshots I'm posting are less than 1000 wide. I agree about his leg, I haven't gotten to work too much on their torsos because I was focusing on the flowing cloth and the faces but I'm going to lighten it up a bit and paint in more details there. Thanks for pointing it out!
Tommy's: Thank you for the feedback. I agree that Grenth seems like he's lacking a little drama compared to Dwayna. I'll have to see if I can maniupate his head into a more 'charging' pose instead of a 'standing' pose. It may be difficult because I've already merged a lot of the layers, but I can always paint over it too. Thank you!
I really love the environmental painting feel on your piece so far. That smokey cloud painting in the background is really lucious and lovely. I think what's missing is something to break up the background foreground a bit. Maybe adding in a few tall trees in the middle ground, behind the people so that they're tall enough to go above the mountain line but not tall enough to go outside of the canvas would help. Then there just needs to be something in the foreground. Maybe off to the right side where there's alot of room you could have one of the defenders or the grenchies running towards the camera a bit. That would help make the battle feel more 3 dimensional instead of so left-right oriented.
Nemesis: The contrast is sooo helpful in your image, it's really starting to make everything pop out. Grenth and Dwayna are starting to take form and it looks like it's going to be really great. Everyone has real life, don't feel like you need to appologize!

@InfestedHydralisk: Never heard of it :O I managed to get a hold of Adome premiere elements 9, but it keeps crashing on my bad computer, so I had to satisfy with a converter. Now I'm hoping moviemaker won't go bazoinkas on me... Last time I used it in XP it randomly crashed every now and then. The vista verson made me cry.

Sorry, just popping in real quick, and missing people as I work backwards >.>
@Nemesis, that looks great, and the frozen ornaments explanation works It doesn't distract at all, just something that I noticed and hoped would be helpful to point out
@Gemini, very awesome! I can't wait to see the final video! I really like the glitter on the snow and how you did the green lighting effects from the smoke!
@Tommy, those mountains look really amazing! Only critique I can come up with is the middle mountain on the left looks off, like it's tipping over or something. I think it'd look a little better if there wasn't so much slope on the left side of that particular peak.
@satomz, I have a feeling your piece is going to make me cry D:
@Eastern, she's so gorgeous so far! I love the way you color and shade faces!
ugh... break time over

@ GeminiJuSa. I hate Windows Movie Maker with a passion. Buggy thing, especially under Vista. I used it for my Halloween videos because I couldn't find my Adobe CD. I could only add half the transitions and titles on the first run through, then publish on the best setting I could and edit it again to get the rest in. Under some settings it would chop out the last letters on titles too but others would work fine. Hope you have better luck.

Dont have much time for any indepth critique tonight, but everyones stuff is really starting to come together and it looks great. So excited to see the finished pieces!
Congrats to Gemini for being the first to finish lol
My update-
Tried to make it look more like a smirk like you mentioned Pery.
Just a note..I HATE coloring with yellows
I've got some shading/highlighting to do yet, but I'm still really stuck on what to do with the background. I dont wanna leave it white, but I also dont want anything that will take away from the focus of the drawing...Any ideas? I have limited access to photoshop, and I was maybe thinking of finding a snowy background and placing it in the background, but so far have not found anything I like.

Arya, that explains alot I suppose. Is it like, a University/College/Equivalent level art-student? Because I could say I was an art student up until last year, since I didnt have room in my grade 11 year for art class. I do agree that colour theory is incredibly helpful; its one of the few things I seriously took out of my art class. Our high school only has a generalized traditional art couse. So is an anatomy class just a semester of drawing the human body?

@Marsh: WAOOOOOOOOOOO! It's so cute!
I swear , if i had printed it, i would probably eat it...Mmm...would taste pretty awesome too...
Good work, I can't wait to see the final piece
@Nemesis: I love your work :P It's really epic...oh and as for the icicles on the decorations thing, i think it just makes it all the more awesome I was just wondering...in your drawing, will Dwayna and Grenth actually be standing, or will they be half-formed, in the air (Not like ghosts...but...well...you know what i mean....I hope...) I imagine drawing them standing would make alot of things awfully complicated, aswell as making the picture be sort of...dwarfed in comparison.
@Gemini: Hehe congratulations on finishing It's awesome! I didn't know you were doing a movie o.O
Oh and perynne....shouldnt you change my pic to digital art since i've gone photoshop all over it?
Quick edit, don't wanna post a new message just to ask a question...could anyone please explain to me why everyone uses the pen tool in digital colouring/painting?

Thanks everyone for all the feedback, it is always highly appreciated *hugs*
Wish that I had more time for critiquing your guy's art, I promise, maybe tomorrow if I get the time, I will sit here and look at everyone's work so far and write something about it, both good and what might need some work.
@Arya: Thanks! I've been trying to darken some areas and lighten others while still being somewhat careful. It's hard to take risks! Heh yeah I know, I guess that I just feel obligated to sometimes though.
@Thistle Xandra: Alright *phew* haha, no no, it was a very valid point that you made; it just looked really weird when I tried to make them look like they were moving in the wind...It looked wrong, so I'm glad that the frozen ornament thing works haha
Maybe I will make snow swirling around in the wind >.>
@Marshmellow: First off, I like Gwen in her little white dress, it's freakin' adorable! Your work is very nice. ~Secondly, Thank you, I am glad to hear that you like how it is turning out so far. Though I don't see why you are jealous *^_^*
@Flying Ninja Monk: Aww, Thank you so much! It's awesome that you noticed that I put icicles on the ornaments =P
And no, I planned on Grenth and Dwayna sort of being floating, like their bodies turn into mist at some point. Yeah no, that would look so weird if they were full bodied haha. I just want it to kind of look like they're looking down at the statue/world.
QUESTION!!! I am going to sound like a noob right now, but what exactly is the Workshop Party? It sounds like something fun that I would like to attend. But I don't know what it is >.>
Hopefully I will get to work on my picture more later, for now I'm off. ~Until next time in the awesome world of Guru

School
Death By An Arrow: Well. haha. That's a bit of a question. I went to normal public highschool but they really didn't have ANY art courses. However, our high shool partnered with a local community college and had this program called Vo-Tech. Basically I spent the first half of the day at normal high school classes, english, math, science, etc, then in the afternoon we were bussed to the college which had students from maybe 5-8 local high schools come. They offered programs in everything from carpentry and masonry to business management, cosmotology, and culinary.
I was enrolled in the Advertising Design program so I spent 2.5 years there learning a lot about drawing techniques, color management, composition, how to use programs like Illustrator, Quark, InDesign, etc. I graduated high school with a certificate in Advertising design and another certificate in retail management.
Right now I'm a college student. I'm at the end of my 2nd year worth of classes and I'm enrolled at Art Institute taking the Media Arts & Animation program. I'm doing a lot of 2D cartoon animations right now and some intro level 3D modeling and animation work. It's exciting stuff!
In my spare time I am working on actually writing the story and creating art for my own original MMO world. Maybe in 7-8 years I'll have my own MMO and hold art contests.

@Nemesis: The Workshop party is a party hosted after the Workshop, for everyone who is interested. It's basically just to hang out and have fun for one last time, and I guess they hand out the prizes there too.
Ooh, the detail you've added is pretty! Grenth looks really Grenth-y, and Dwayna is coming along nicely too.
@Ninja Monk: Not everyone uses the pen tool, but it's really handy for selecting large areas, or selecting areas cleanly so there's no choppiness to your selection line. It's also good for creating clean lineart, by first going over the line you want with the pen tool, then using the Stroke feature. Here's a tutorial on how to use it in Photoshop: http://fav.me/d2n82o6
Also, will change your pic to digital art, thanks for pointing it out! Your drawing is coming along very nicely too, I love the detail on Dwayna.
@Verene: Your concept looks interesting. :3 I love vector art, even though I'm not very good at it myself. So far, I think you've managed to capture Dwayna nicely, can't wait to see where you take it next.
@Marsh: Eeee, so pretteh! <3 It's waaaaaay too cute for words. XD
@frostkisses: Perhaps use a soft orange/brown for the background? Slapping on a background on the computer will easily make it look unbalanced, because it's difficult to get traditional colouring to mix with computer colouring. Highlights and small tweaks are ok to do on the computer, but I find that using a cg background on a traditional work often just spoils the whole effect, because there's such a stark difference between the mediums.
So yeah, you could try doing really, really light coloured pencil shading for the background, using a light colour? Orange and brown could work nicely.
@GeminiJuSa: Good luck with the video! I can't really give any tips on that, since the only video program I've ever used was Adobe After Effects... and even that was years ago.
@Tommy's: That is looking superawesome so far! I think the background looks pretty good. Perhaps some last detail highlights once you get the rest of the stuff coloured, but that can come later.
@Morag: Eeeee, please enter! It's great seeing you here again, and I'd love to see an entry by you. You have such a lovely drawing style. :3
@satomz: Such sad lyrics... can't wait to hear the whole thing. I do agree that perhaps the lyrics still need some work, but can't really put my finger on what needs changing. Perhaps try to get the same kind of poetic style he has, by ending the lines in similar sounding words? For example, if you look at the last... uh.. stanza? paragraph? (I'm really, really bad at musical terms XD), you can see Sinatra has some words on every other line rhyming with each other. That can help to create harmony in the words, and make it fit together better.
Hope that helped.

Oki then...
I've tried many tutorials and i found that i fail at all of them for two reasons:
A) I didn't make a good lineart. It was on the background layer, with all the white filling...so i couldnt make any clear boundrys, ect...
B)The canvas was too small to have any type of detail
:P So im redoing the lineart, hopefully making the lines of gold thinner, less distinguished than the others...:P
Thanks so much for the help + tutorial Perynne Now i can make lineart *cheer*
Monk out!
Oh and Nemesis i have no idea what the party is too. I think it's where they announce the results, but thats all i know, and i think i may be wrong
P.S. Flying Monk used 12 Tzu Attribute Points on the Lineart skill!

@Gemini, I know that alot of GW video makers use it. And you can do the final finishing touches with Adobe After Effects. There are also alot of tutorials with Sony Vegas on youtube, if you ever want to know how to do something.

You don't need to scrap the whole lineart. If you're using Photoshop, just doubleclick on the background layer to make it a proper layer, then set the layer style to Multiply (in that little box where it says Normal). That way it makes it see-through, and you can just do all of the colouring on new layers underneath it. Always have the multiply lineart layer on top, so that it won't get coloured over.
It's what people often use when they scan in pencil drawings and don't want to re-draw the lines on the computer. Multiply layer works wonders for that!

Thanks I already had some trees in the scetch, they got lost along the way, but I was intending to put something like that, or at least some obstacle (maybe a huge wintersday gift or something odd, who knows) in there to fill up the space. I really like the idea of making it more 3 dimentional, I agree its really left-right orientated right now. Perhabs I can make indeed someone block off some more Grentches or perhabs let Rudolf carry some snow towards the snowman. I'm not great with such perspectives though, but I'll see if I manage
Thanks for the comments all <3

Okay i just had to come back here to say...
Perynne be awesome!!!!! AWESOME!
Where would i be without her ? :P I always wondered how people made such pretty linearts...XD
I have a quick question to anyone who looked at my pic...I want to have some bits of the gold decorations bulging out slightly (Bad description, when i say bulging out don't think of a frog's eyes exploding, think of the metal being 3-d(ish))...so, should i include the slight bulge on the edge of her attire in my lineart, or should i just add the effect later while i'm colouring later? I mean if i add it while i'm colouring later it would overlap my lineart soo...
But still any advice is very welcome! Thanks
