I decided to start another entry too We're allowed two entries so
My second one is a story based after the events of Gwen and Kieran's wedding. Then it shows them going to LA at the start of wintersday and how the peacekeepers of the mantle refuse to surrender and start another war (lol)
alrdy wrote 4 chapters and on chapter 5 atm. Its gnna be wintersday kinda thing at the end so don't worry Also has a death in it and how gwen is reminded of her parents and their deaths etc :S
Bit gruesome when i type it like that lawl

Update!
Waaa, how exciting about the costume packs. What a generous gift for the holiday workshop!
Update Gallery: http://jnetrocks.deviantart.com/gallery/27490304
Put in several hours of painting tonight when I was suffering from some insomnia, and I'm liking where it's going. I'm thinking the picture might be overall too dark though. :C Maybe I've been looking at it too long, so I'm going to take a step back and look at it tomorrow after I've rested.
GeminiJuSa: Wow, that is looking really good with the colors on there! I love the sparkle in the snow and the lighting is just really nice, soft but illuminating enough. I think that you mway want to make the moon a bit brighter. It doesn't need to be pure white but just a bit more light for some contrast would be good. You could add some really small pure white highlights to th eback of the necromancers hair and clothing to give it a more leathery feeling. I love glowing stuff, I'm a sucker for the magic effects but the green glow on her face looks a bit off. I think because it's on her cheeks only it just looks a little odd. Really spectacular stuff it's so awesome to see it with the colors!
Flying Ninja Monk: I agree with Perynne, you're definitely not a 0 talent artist. And we all start feeling like our art isn't anything special but the thing about art is that it's a life long development. Everything you see, read, listen to and learn can affect the way you percieve the world, which changes your ability to create things both from life and imagination. Whenever anyone asks me where to begin, I recommend life drawing. Even if you can only draw from internet or magazine pictures instead of a live model, drawing the human figure is absolutely one of the best ways to improve your drawing overall. For digital coloring there are some really great tutorials on DeviantArt and I'm sure other sites. Your drawing is looking really good! I like the little Frosty miniature too, very cute! I do think that some color will make Dwayna more recognizeable, but I agree that maybe having the wings on the helmet part would help accentuate that.
Marshmallow: Geeze, your stuff is SO cute. I think the angel dwayna character up at the top would be a wonderful picture even alone. But I'm a sucker for Gwen and Thackery stuff! I love how Gwens little feet are sticking out of the bottom fo the dress and there's a little gwen doll laying there, too cute. I can't really tell what Thackery is holding. A snow globe? It looks a little deflated like a lump of bread or a bag of money instead of perfectly round like a glass sphere, but thats' an easy fix and this is a sketch. Super cute, like always. You're going to give me a cuteattack one of these days.
Eastern Magik: I don't think it's unoriginal at all. I actualy really like what you're doing with it and the framing is nice! The proportioning is really good and the facial features look awesome! I think with some cleanup and nice colors this could be an amazing entry. Are you planning on making her holding something or casting a spell or what?

Aww , thanks for the help everyone
I fixed the proportions...mostly o.O Well i resized top half instead of the bottom, but i'm going to try accentuating the Dwayna-ish-face...since, as my brother colourfully put "Just cause she's blue, doesn't make her a freaking fish."
Oh and Arya, quite inspiring, quite inspiring indeed :P Thanks!
Thanks for the support Perynne

:P She's awesome.
Anyway i wanted to say...Arya i think the energy Dwayna's holding should be blue...i think...would be more awesome in my opinion...

arya you don't even understand how jealous I am of your skill F:
What size is your canvas/DPI?
Anywho Arya, I think the only thing too dark is Grenth's leg that looks like its making a kick motion. or is bent, however you want to say it. I think it gets lost in the cloak he's wearing and I almost didnt notice it was there. Right now its the same shade as the cloak behind it, which should definatlly be the darker of the two.
Everybodies pieces are turning out so well ._.
I decided I wanted to do a digital piece as well once I finish my polar bears. Mina had a workshop going on for anatomy and the final stage is to turn one of these anatomy things into a painting. What better way to do than in the name of wintersday? I figure once I finish my bears over the holiday break I would have spare time for a painting or something :3

@Arya: Looking great, your use of colour is great, I really like how those little belt thingies on Grenth are looking. Once thing I think would make the image better is to tilt Grenths face a bit. He looks like sort of charging, and when I charge my head turns a bit (in his face I think the lower part of his humm... face.. a bit more to the (viewers) left). If I want to keep my head straight my neck is a bit longer. So I think tilting it would make it a lot better :3
@Magik: Looks good ^^ Damn what a detail in those eyes, gorgeous. Her neck looks fine, perhabs a bit more of a curve in it would be better. What bothers me a bit are the lips though. It looks like she has had some botox pumped into them Perhabs try to make them look a bit less "full" Beside that, I think the tip of the nose should be a bit more towards the viewer, so you see a little bit more of the other side of the nose. But it could aswell be the lack of shading in it so far, so you might make me shut up when you finished colouring it

Magik, I think the neck looks fine, it's because of the pose she's in. Her shoulders are slightly hunched up and so her neck is going to appear shorter.

So fellows, the official contest deadline is the 31st of December, unless you already noticed. This calms down my mind in a good way, seems like I can actually finish in time!

Ok so since the contest deadline is 31th/1st, I'm switching back to my previous idea which I would probably not have had enough time for, but since I got some more time lately, I'm going back to it, because I like it better ^^
So this is based on the quest Building Tyria's Biggest Snowman.
On the left some people holding mean grenthies off with snowballs (ursula is helping too ) In the center 2 characters working on the snowman base, and on the right some Wintersday Elfs bringing suply (the carrot and 2 big stones for eyes).
More progress soon

Thanks everyone for offering their help. I highly appreciate it. But I have a couple of issues at the moment:
1. I think that everyone who has offered to help me out had a male character. And I actually need a bunch of males (a few females can be in it too).
2. On the days I have to work I get back home exhausted, so I'm too tired to properly work on my project.
3. It's a festive month and I'm doing alot of things with friends.
So I doubt I can properly make something within the deadline. :/
I'm afraid I'm going to have to say I'm going to drop out. I'm terribly sorry everyone. I really am. :/
But I WILL do the Nolani Girls video.

Need some way of making the sky and the mountains and the snowball more together. Now it really look like seperate parts, too little symbiosis. Well, luckily enough nothing of them are almost finished :3 Now off to bed, more progress tomorrow.

Tommy, more snow atop the mountains, so they become a bit brighter and should I say realistic.
Like this:
Looking good so far, I think you should draw the rest of the parts in colour as well to see how they work with the parts that already exist.

Eee, so many people are almost finished already! I won't be able to continue mine until later this week, after I finish drawing my parents' gift. Noticed that if I want to get the gift printed on canvas, I need to bring it to the print shop by friday.... so eeep. Here's hoping I can get it done before that.
@Zidane: Welcome to the Workshop!
@Marsh: Aw, your pencil sketch is looking so cute. I really love your style, it's just adorable. And the idea of doing Gwen and Thackeray during Wintersday is a very good one. Can't wait to see it coloured!
@Lil Thing: The idea is to make the bigger contest's entry in this Workshop, so that you can get feedback from people to make your entry the best you can. But if you feel like doing three different entries (two for this, one for the bigger one) go for it! You just won't be able to enter more than two for this one.
@Arya: Wow, your piece is just looking more and more amazing each time you work on it! I'm liking Dwayna's colours, the pale gold makes her pop out without being too attention-grabbing. Good job. The only comment I have is, like Death by an Arrow pointed out, Grenth's other leg is getting a little lost on the cloack and it took me a moment to see what it was too.
@Magik: Dwayna looks so beautiful... I love the detail in her eye. And holding a cute fluffy polar bear, awww. <3 I think her neck is good proportion, it looks like she's craning forward a little so it's ok. Can't wait to see more.
@Hydralisk: Awww.... I would've loved to see what you come up with for the contest, but I do understand that Christmastime can be hectic. Good luck, and yes, definitely make the Girls of Nolani video at least!
@Tommy's: You should manage to bring them more together once you get into the detail stage. The mountains could be reflecting the blue hue of the sky, and same goes for the snowball. Also, slight distance mist by the mountains could help... have them partly disappear into the clouds or something. Looking good so far, I like your idea!
